The way they add sound effects to the video with the Instruments is unheard of. I genuinely believe due to this Sabaton has top be one of the best bands to ever exist! I hope you enjoyed and let me know what you want to see next!

The song actually is a cover of a song by Radio Tapok. He is a russian youtuber/musician who does russian covers of songs. He first covered "Attack of the dead men" by them. They found his cover, so they brought him onto the stage to sing the song with them when they concerted in Moscow. And then later he released "Defense of Moscow" which they covered here.
I would really love it if you did a kind-of mega-reaction to a) Attack of the dead men (unsure if you did already), b) Radio Tapoks cover, c) the live version with him and d) his original to defense of Moscow.
And by the way: from 5:31 onward the guitar solo actually is a part of the soviet/russian anthem.
Love your reactions, keep it up!

If you listen to the solo guitar, you'll notice the soviet anthem playing by the guitar haha, also good reaction ^^
Some Historical tips: "The Typhoon Wave" is a clear reference to the german operation to take moscow called "Operation Typhoon"
Moscow had a defensive line situated in 3 villages ahead of the city, the soldiers defending Tula breached the offensive line of the Germans, also the horde of tanks T-34 following the fleeing germans.
Before the german attack, the city of moscow had a military parade to raise up the morale of the people, and join the red army to set the defensive trenches to defend Moscow.
    Have a good day! ^^

One of the great things about Sabaton I've noticed is their ability to grab listeners who don't necessarily listen to/ enjoy metal. They have a wide appeal because they have catchy melodies, great riffs, extra instrumentation such as synth and choirs, great stories, and probably the most important thing...lyrics that people can clearly decipher.
In my experience, people who don't listen to/ like metal generally say " they're great musicians, but I don't really enjoy it because I don't know what they're saying". Well, Sabaton never seem to give them any complaints because they tick all of the boxes :)

I do love this song. Its the type of song that makes me feel like I'm from the Soviet Union and I gotta go pick up a rifle to defend the motherland. So I totally agree with your reaction! Radio Tapok has covered a lot of Sabaton tracks and so having them take one of his songs and making an official video for it was extremely touching for him. He was just as excited as the rest of us about this cover.
I suggest "Coat of Arms" and "Sparta" to give Greece some love. There is no official vid for Sparta but there are fan made ones that are pretty good. (Mostly they use footage from "300" but they really capture the music with them and have them fit.)
I also suggest "Winged Hussars". It has become a meme song for the Sabaton fandom, but it is still pretty good and gives another shout out to Poland and Lithuania. Again, there is no official video but there is a very good one by Hardigun that shows the Seige of Vienna. I suggest all of those. Others suggest "Attack of the Dead Men" and I agree. Now THAT is one of my absolute favorite songs by Sabaton. It just is very well done and captures the fear of poison gas, but also the Russian spirit to take the enemy with them. You can even do a double feature if you wanted with the Sabaton lyric video and then Radio Tapok's Russian cover music video.

Fun song from this year for sure! I love how they worked together with Tapok, first letting him release March of the Dead Men before their own version, then he returned the favor.
The thing that stands out the most to me in this cover is the chorus, it's not as shouty or intense as most of their songs. Very different to what they usually do. Another song in that way is Steel Commander, which might have been commissioned by Wargames, but that's just a guess.

@Jojo: There are some things you need to know:
    1) Army Group Center only got to within 15 miles (24.14 km) of Moscow. Unlike Napoleon, who occupied the city for six weeks during the early 1800s, Germany's war machine never occupied Moscow.
    2) During the final push into Russia to take Moscow, the weather denied the Wehrmacht one of its primary assets, the Luftwaffe, which had been used to spot and assault dug in troops from the air, before ground forces would normally move in.
    3) Due to Russian fuel having a lighter viscosity than German fuel, Germany had a lot of issues with tanks that would not start, due to being frozen. This, along with Gernan trains having a different rail gauge than Russian trains, exacerbated and compounded an already-difficult and complex supply situation.
    4) The Wehrmacht, despite its problems, did have much more armor than the Russians did -- and outnumbered the Russian armor by about 20:1. The Russians only had about 2 dozen or so combat-effective KV-1 heavy tanks to deal with Pz-IIIJs and Pz-IIIEs, along with Pz-IVs. The two KV-2 Russian heavy tanks had already been damaged or destroyed by the time the Wehrmacht began pushing to Moscow. While the Russians had the TU-85 medium tank, it did not have a powerful enough gun or ammunition to take out the more heavily armored German armor. At most, the TU-85 could take out the Pz-38(t) and the Pz-II tank, as these were less-armored tanks, and normally were used as scout tanks and infantry assault guns.
Despite all of this, Marshal Zhukov threw everything he had into the defenses of Moscow -- which included rushing to the front the T-34 Main Battle Tank, which, learning the lessons from the Japanese in 1905, allowed the Russians to develop sloped armor for the T-34 and T-34/85 (the "85" variant was a T-34 hull on a TU-85 chassis, as I understand it). The T-34, to this day, is seen as the best battle tank ever produced, due to the survivability it had by deflecting enemy rounds.
And in case you didnt know, the Soviet/Russian national anthem was used in the guitar solo for Defense of Moscow.

Germans complained later: the General Moroz Ivanovichh ("moroz" is the Russian word for very cold weather, frost) was on Russian's side...
Another reason: Hitler did not expected that we will "resist and bite" so desperately, and he expected to finish Russian campaign before temperatures will fall below 0C. So, the well-trained Wehrmacht soldiers were unprepared for winter fights.

After some successful Oleg's covers on Sabaton's songs, especially when he sung his Russian version of "Attack of Dead Men" at the stage together with Sabaton at Moscow, there arise the joke: "Oleg, only small step before worldwide popularity: the Sabaton must cover your own song"

Great reaction! As other people have already said, this is a cover of Radio Tapok's Sabaton-stylized song and you should definitely check out the original, as well as Attack of the Dead Men live in Moscow, a performance in which Tapok sings together with Sabaton and they alternate the English and Russian versions.
For a slight change of pace, I'd like you to see some songs from Otava Yo, a Russian modern folk band. They have a mostly lighthearted "slice of life" tone with sprinkles of comedy, and many of their videos not only tell a story but also show off Russia itself, whether it's the wilderness, a rural village, or the streets and rooftops of St Petersburg. Any of their official or official-live videos would be good, but my personal recommendations are Cossack's lezginka, A cat has four legs, and Street Cleaner. All of these three and most of the others have English subtitles, so you'll be able to know what they're singing :)
If you want to check out yet another genre, I can recommend you some acapella by Voiceplay, they like to put on a theatrical show in their videos, especially in their cover of Oogie Boogie Song from the Nightmare Before Christmas. After that, a good idea could be their bass singer Geoff Castelucci's solo channel, my favorite from that is his rendition of Sixteen Tons (originally by Merle Travis, but the most well-known version is by Tennessee Ernie Ford)
I apologize if this is too long or if you're not interested in any of my suggestions, nevertheless I can't wait to see more of your insightful and focused reactions, a real breath of fresh air next to those whose only contribution is a constant stream of oohs, aahs, and woahs :D

This is a cover of a guy who does covers of Sabaton
All integrated. He loves Sabaton's cover of him
    Check out Radio Tapok:

Note, Sabaton included the Russian anthem in the song. He didn't

Whenever I read or in this case listen to anything about Nazi Germany vs. the USSR, I simply can't help but be more than reluctant to "side" with either. Nevertheless, Sabaton isn't political and they always deliver a kick ass song rich with history!

This is one where I don't feel confident enough in my knowledge of the events of the song. So instead of making an attempt at doing the hero's of that battle justice. I will invite you to watch the Sabaton history video of the song.
Indy does a far better job than I could ever hope of doing. And giving the significance of this battle. Indy's the only person I can point you towards.

you should react to Sabaton - In the Name of God, it is probably one of the best underated songs they have, and probably one of the least impartial they have, you could say it is a literal callout to terrorism.

    It’s not
    mos cow
    Mozcow
Or even moskau which is actually a song so every time you’re saying mos co you’re actually calling the capital of Russia a different name which is actually a good song but if I’d wanted to be boring and pedantic then in reality it’s pro nunced Moskva if we were actually talking Russian

  • @gunmasterx1164

this song isn't actually a Sabaton Original song, the origin of this song belongs to the russian youtuber Radio Tapok who wanted to make a Sabaton like song about the Battle of Moscow

  • @alexanderpreuss0701
    @alexanderpreuss0701 2 роки тому

When I first listened to this song, I kinda disliked that in the chorus, the last syllable of each line was so stretched out, it felt like something was missing (like they were lacking a syllable or two for the music, eg "[...] brace for the stooooorm [...] and into defeeeeeeeat"), but I really grew to like it a lot. I noticed that the original Russian version by Radio Tapok, which is in Russian ofc, had this as well. Maybe it's a thing in Russian music, not sure. Anyway, nice reaction, I think you can almost call your videos "Reaction & Analysis" or something :)
