Historic fact from the SABATON website: May 9 is celebrated as V-Day in Russia, the day to commemorate the victory over the Nazis in WW2. We decided to participate in the memory of this event by releasing a song dedicated to the brave men who fought in the battle of Moscow. This track was originally written in Russian by our friend Radio Tapok. It’s a very strong song and we thought it made sense that Sabaton should give it a try to make a honourable cover of this song. We love to surprise everyone, and this is a great surprise.

The first time I saw this I pointed out, to my son, that the beginning of the guitar solo was a variation on the anthem and then he transitioned into the actual anthem. It was great :)

Как же много вы не знаете об истории середины прошлого века. Практически весь мир был втянут в эту войну. Десятки миллионов людей лишились жизней. А кто-то призывает забыть эту часть истории. Нет, мы, русские, никогда не забудем эту смертоносную войну, в которой победителем вышел советский солдат, освободив и Европу от фашизма. Помним. Гордимся.
