God bless you Father and your congregation, I love ❤️ your Gospel on The Sacrament, of Marriage, listening from Colorado/ Grand Junction 🙏 🙌 Shirley L.
Holy God, please bless me with righteousness - not just by your grace and mercy, but by your Holy Spirit's transformation of my heart. And, dear Father, we close our prayer with the plea of King David: we pray this in the name of Jesus our Lord Amen 🙏
I offer this mass up for all my family members and friends. Divorced and separated couples and families. Please, Lord, help us all. And Lord, even if You don’t intervene, our hope is You Alone 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you, father, for passing down the teaching on marriage, that Jesus left us by shedding his blood . The teaching pass down in our Catholic Church for 2000 years .. The teachings of Jesus Christ are the most merciful most transformative. And everlasting. Thank you, father for not watering down the word and power of God with (man-made excuses(, masking as Mercy …Mercy is the grace and power He gives us to carry the cross, and remain faithful to His word and his Catholic Church teachings that, can never change. The truth shall set us free. The truth is merciful. The truth is Jesus Christ the son of God. 87 year old cradle Catholic Wife, mom, grandmom, and great grandmom .By grace well instructed. Will continue to be instructed all the days of my life until I meet my savior face-to-face, and will then be fully transformed. all through his Mercv grace.
Heavenly Father, please help my daughter. She's been on the streets 7 years alone. So many horrific things have happened to her, she's hooked on alot of drugs. She had a breakdown when her father died doing life without in prison, and my mom passed as well. She broke, please heal her. Amen and Thank You
I have been divorced for 21 years. It was verbal and violent abuse. It harmed our children. They went to college and I went to divorce court. While there was a time of love and caring. But one day it all went away. It is hard to know I failed at the most human relationship in my life. My children are safe. My grandchildren are safe. I have no desire for another relationship. I will be calmer and safer that way. I don’t need a partner to work on the goals I have to reach the goal of being a Saint. Bless you Father Mike.
You made the best choice and God loves you no matter what choice you made. The only hard thing I experienced when I divorced my ex because of abuse was when I had the interview for the annulment they made it seem like it was my fault which upset me because it wasn't my fault. My ex was a sick man and abusive. It was not safe to live with our children in the abusive home. I wish the people that did the annulment would have valued that in my choice. God loves us no matter what.
I once heard that leading our lives as a single person is like being a hermit. We're the folks who help people and animals as much as we can; we read the Bible and Pray the rosary a lot. Unconditional love is the part of life that everyone is supposed to live by, no matter what your Vocation is. Thanks Father Mike for your homily. I pray that your community's Newman Center grows and that the whole front pew crew and all their families get their Church built.
Amen 🙏🏾. Thank you Lord for your blessings 🙌🏾 🙏🏾. Thank you for all the wonderful things you're doing for us, thank you for families, thank you for your love and mercies.

The marriages that Father Mike talked about which had difficulties, struck me as having ended too easily. I don’t know if we’re more mature, this our second marriage, but i can’t count the times my husband has lost interest when i was talking to him. I put it down to familiarity. We still love each other very much and our marriage is doing well. I would hope others would pray before they came to such sad conclusions.

You're right that married life can be hard. After I started coming back to the Church, I realized I wasn't married inside the Church. My wife "went along with it" but I think God is calling both of us to serve His Church. And oh my word the depression (called "deep rest" by Jim Carrey in an interview, good quote!) I went through and am going through I think it is just Christ saying "stop being the one who you masked yourself as and be the one I made you and want you to be." And as a dad, I can say, "it has cost me everything, and I'm in the process of paying." I'm changing. We'll see how it turns out.
Thank you for your prayers: "Thank you for praying over us, praying with us, and praying for us". Thank you for your teaching: "Thank you for your faithful teaching of God's word". Thank you for your Christlike conduct: "Thank you for your Christlike conduct". Thank you for your patience: "Thank you for your patience with us". Marriage is our greatest blessing. We've been married for 8 years, have three children and had our up and downs the first couple of years, but Christ showed us the way and I can honestly say that I couldn't be happier. I would give my life for my husband and he his for mine. We experienced that marriage truly is a sacrament and cannot comprehend how Protestants do not see it.
I’m pretty sure the only Protestants who see marriage as a sacrament are those in the Anglican Rite, i.e. Anglicans and Episcopalians. Anybody know otherwise?

Not only "did everything right" (not true), served and lived, live for Him.....forget the married couples who have infertility....how about those of us doing the hard of life single!? And approaching menopause -- grieving is hard. Acceptance is a very good part of recovery programs which is why catholics have to also not be delusional. Great homily.

It is a mortal sin, but like almost all mortal sin, it is one of which a person can repent. There is no such thing as “grounds for divorce” in Catholicism; marriage is binding and holy, so by definition lasts until the death of one of the spouses (though in the case of a marriage determined to have been made invalidly, annulments are sometimes granted after a thorough and painstaking review by the Church).
