Hodel DID get Tamar, his daughter pregnant and then took her to have an illegal abortion done. Without anesthetic. Tamar then took him to court but he was acquitted and Tamar was seen as unwell mentally, especially after she told the court that her father was responsible for the Black Dahlia Murders. Fauna’s daughters say in the Root of Evil podcast, that Fauna was never interested in finding her birth father because she had a feeling it was George and didn’t want it confirmed.

Remember, this is a former LAPD cop, you think a retired member wouldn't exaggerate on a point like this?
That's just a very unlikely thing for him to try to do, not just for what he believed his father did to his sister but that it's obviously impractical, it's hard enough proving guilt let alone prove innocence. A cop would know there's nowhere to go with that.

It's sad to see the justice system and police aren't getting significantly better through time. I mean, a lot of unsolved mysteries in the past at least has corrupt police and/or a biased justice system involved-and look where we are now! Still suffering (especially minorities) from corrupt police and a weak justice system. And when the government fails, it's up to the people to rise and make (or peacefully protest for) the change; and hopefully it'll be good for the long run for real (by today's standards).

maybe a mini-series on the side would work better. There are many cases that although solved they're still interesting because of the methodology of the crimes or the personalities surrounding the case, of both the culprits and the investigators. Like the Unabomber for example, it's solved and the information is there to look up but I'd like to see the boys tackle it in the own style.

To be honest even though the PowerPoint episodes are far less enjoyable, that's when Ryan was putting his heart and soul into his own project. Something that's admirable

Fun fact: Julia Child could kill someone! She was a trained spy actually during the cold war

@@mmarciac4879 I'm only talking about Julia. She was a "spy" not the traditional spy but she handled top secret documents and traveled for the US before she became a chef during the 40s. She was stationed in Asia for a while doing security clearance work and handling government documents, along with checking up on the US's enemies.

Hodel was suspected of killing his secretary about two years before Short was killed. His would be motive for killing her was to cover financial fraud. He was never charged at the time because he left for China
