im 39 and played street from 8-19 then quit...tryin to get back into here...vid mos def helped... really makin me wanna join a league n just have fun again
I played roller street hockey in the mid - late 90's when I as in my late teens and early 20s and all of us always wore "ice" hockey pants. They gave us so much support and protection when falling. When I got back into it again a few years ago I noticed so many players not wearing ice hockey pants for protection or they'd just wear hockey pants like ones popular in roller leagues. I never understood why not just wear the traditional ice hockey pants. They seem to give so much more protection when falling (especially when you're up there in age like me!) and in my opinion look much better style wise than long pants.
I never played beyond hood games in my teens but my guess would be ventilation. I'm with you though. I'm thinking about getting back into it for the sake of my little one. I'm just reusing her ice hockey pants while teaching her to rollerblade, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to go girdle/pants instead.
Simply hot af where roller is most popular, hot regions like California, Florida, etc. Particularly if it's an outdoor, unshaded venue. If you're lucky you have a covered/indoor rink with fans pointed at the benches or somethin.
I have been playing ice hockey for years and a few of my free meds joined a league and made a team. You don’t know how many times they ask me to play like I was a celebrity or something.this is my first roller game coming up soon so I hope this helps😂
Alkali backpack bag. You can normally find these types of bags online at inline Wearhouse or hockey monkey. I honestly haven’t bought a bag in so long I don’t know if they still even make them
No the rink isn't open. I got permission to use it from the owner. I play ice with him and hes a cool dude. Hes letting me use it to make videos. The only other person in there with me is Austin

@@HockeyAdventures ok thank you for the information I was looking for a hockey backpack that I can use head to the rink so I may pick that up
No problem. Hope you’re able to find one
No shoulder pads?
This helps alot
Do you put your shin pads over the tongue of the skate?
Yup. Since I play defense I have slightly bigger shin guards. So no flop for me
Gonna have to give this a go
Are pads required to play.
Yes they are
How the heck did you get the permission of the place to film this😂 and also is the rink open yet?
Oh sorry I accidentally made the same comment lol

Awww so lucky wished I was there too :( stay safe🙏🏼
You stay safe also
Quick question, dont you wear your shin pads under your hockey pants?
No chest protection?
Not in roller. There are padded shirts some people were but they aren’t necessary
@@HockeyAdventures what if the puck hits you? Is it different then when an ice hockey puck hits your chest?
