The first time i watched a slaughterhouse video i knew i had to go vegan. This is the question I had. I've loved all of the videos I've seen, and great info, but I am curious as to what a regular diet day looks like for Ryan Humiston.

Shakes for protien....and you can make fat bombs and fat shakes with some berries and kale/greens for a good tasting, keto smoothie. Aside from that you can literally have basically as many steamed, sauteed, pan fried veggies and healthy oils and fats as you want. It sounds limiting at first but really it's not. The only thing that's really hard is protien without shakes. But I feel so much better and the benefits of ketosis are so amazing that it's totally worth it. Get some hemp heart protien and pea protien...eat lots of seeds and nuts and nut butters. Go look up vegan keto meals. Here's a tasty quick one. A burrito without the tortilla. Grill up some veggies, throw some lettuce on them when it's done and put some salsa and guac on them. Tastes just like a burrito (obviously) without the carbs. Throw some low carb tempeh in if you want protien. I could go on nd on about the possibilities. Just takes a shift in mindset and a willingness to research a little bit. I thought it was impossible at one point and not realistic at all for long term. I was wrong. It's easy. You eat less meals becase you aren't as hungry without those insulin spikes from carbs. More energy and less dips throughout the day. Grocery bill gets cheaper once you get the hang of it too. And there is a ton of variety once you learn to get creative. You can make some vegan keto wraps and make veggie sandwiches with lots of avacado, nut butter sandwiches with coconut oil, all kinds of possibilities. Dip raw veggies in almond butter, tahini, or guac....lots of stuff you can do. As long as you stay off carbs and fill up on that stuff...you don't miss the carbs.
@@Biggiiful You can buy keto-friendly tortillas/wraps. My buddy isn't a vegan, but he's doing keto right now and he just had himself a big keto burrito dinner the other night while I was over.

I don't know how EPA and DHA vs ALA effect remaining in ketosis, they are used to treat a number of conditions including, cancer, diabetes, asthma and boosting brain function respectively, not keeping you in ketosis. I find that by using copious amounts of flax and chia seeds for breakfast I can mantain an omega6:omega3 ratio of 1-2:1 even while using hemp/pumpkin/sunflower seeds to get my protein. I'll add an algae oil supplement just to be safe, but I don't really want to consume protein powder
Didn't expect you to be vegan. Classic case of, "don't judge a book by its cover". I've been vegetarian for 35+ years, but always struggled with veganism because of cheese. :) The vegan cheeses I've tried so far are terrible. Where I find a non-milk food that is good I always pick it, but that last step is really hard. Well done you. You're an inspiration.

Protein Amounts and Timing- For building muscle, how often do you eat protein? If you eat it all at once will you lose the anabolic response and will it turn to glucose? But if you space it every couple of hours, will it spike insulin and kick you out of ketosis? Thank you in a advance for your thoughts.

I got so happy when you said pea protein. It’s been my staple source.
Once you get rid of dairy all together your gut will thank you. So will the animals. It’s one of the make cruel industries there is. Check out “dairy, make your own mind up” - Joey carbstrong ✌🏼
Dairy is known to cause reproductive cancers. Drop it like you would cigarettes.
Right. 14 days starts today. Freaking love this channel.
I am not vegan. However, I don't do whey or casein. I do Pea protein too just because it's superior. I grabbed an organic 100% pea protein isolate and then I add Hemp seed protein to the mix.
Dude!!! And you're vegan for the right reasons! You've got a new fan!
Such great energy. Thanks for the info! I’m excited to step my vegan up with this✨
So straight forward. I like your style. No BS. Thanks for the info. And yes I just subscribed
Dude! I knew I started following you and subscribed for a reason. I’ve been vegan almost six years and currently looking to get my fatass back in good shape. Thanks for the content!
I tried all these diets and gave up on all but one. Only the *Agoge diet* helped me get rid of that persistent belly fat.
Awesome video I've been Vegan Keto for 4 years I do carb cycling 1 day per week and its worked very well for me.
What about egg whites? I was buying gallons of egg whites for a while and making shakes. Your thoughts please
i am looking for details on how and what you eat, but couldnt find them.
I want to create my first meal plan, but want that inspiration and big brain knowledge from you. Please Ryan,
give us a meal plan.
Wow, dude, never would have expected this
Mcdougall MD just put a link about coconut oil and heart disease. Showing rise in LDL vs regular non tropical vegetable oils. Meta-analysis published Jan 13, 2020.
TheRainNinja personally I dont use any oil and I think coconut oil is one of the biggest healthwashed products of our generation
@@therainninja Where did he put this link? I couldn't find it. I looked into his youtube, twitter and website.
@@osmokv on Facebook page a few post down.
@@RedPillVegan yeah I expected you didn't but posted so you knew there was a new study out on it.
Really helpful. I'm in grad school working through my MS in nutrition, and as a working nutritionist get questions like this and similar to this all the time. You took some complex concepts and broke them down Barney style. Thanks for posting.
While still an omnivore, I've decided to up my protein intake by adding shakes to my diet, so thanks for the tip on Naked Nutrition (just placed my first order with them). In light on some parts of the meat industry shutting down, I may find myself becoming a bit more of a vegosaur, so I'd love to see what you eat in an average day, Ryan.
Same! Can't give up meat cos I'm a fussy and lazy f'er, came here for tips on how to get more from the little veg I will eat and protein shakes.
@@owieprone Seriously giving up meat was a lot easier than cheese. Also a lot of the stuff you get from bakeries isn't vegan, that's basically my biggest struggle.
@@Lightningspiner Cheese has that magic ratio of fat and salt that makes you addicted. It's not surprising when I hear people say they can't give it up.
I swear the universe sent you/this video my way because you have shared a few things that may save my life, thank you so much 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 and please keep sharing
Love your channel! I’ve been learning so much!
So Tru (unflavored) mushroom protein is low carb and high protein FROM MUSHROOMS AS WELL so this is an option for all us vegan ketos!
what about hemp protein, chlorella and spirulina?
Great video. One small correction: DHA in the spray tan is dihydroxyacetone, totally unrelated to the omega 3 fatty acid DHA.
Ryan, I am not a vegan. Never even tried being a vegetarian. But I’ll like to give your recommended diet a 60-day trial. Would you mind recommending one? Given that I am currently repeating week 1 of your 30-day workout plan. So good was the effect I decided to repeat week 1. 😊
Once again thanks . I'm 59 and love your videos and apply then as well.
How have I been on Vegan Keto for four months and not found this. Thank you 🙏
Please do a video on what you eat while doing vegan keto.
Hey Ryan my channel is like 1/10th the size of yours but I just published a video promoting your channel and encouraging my subscribers to come over, subscribe + issued a call to action in the hopes that you will do more videos about diet in the future.
I think you’ve got a unique perspective and I hope you decide to share more of it. People are going to disagree with you no matter what you do. The real obstacle is that you’ve gained so much traction doing the fitness videos that I understand if you don’t want to stray away from that at this point. Do the right thing for you, continue to grow. I wish you the best.
Question: Do you count every carb even leafy greens? Will you please give us some examples of how this should look? Sample meals or food list?
Thank god you called out Soy! Also, I agree with the oils to avoid. It's more expensive but not worth ingesting all those bad oils.
I'm a hardgainer who did keto for 2 years and saw great results, but quarantine-limited exercise intensity and the presence of new housemates, cost me a lot of ab definition. I might try cycling Vegan Keto (because I do believe in reducing my admittedly high consumption of animals), even just a little bit.
What’s your option on hemp protein instead of pea protein?
Was vegan for 2.5 years and developed really bad arthritis as a result as well as struggling to keep weight on. Would love to see what you eat in a day.
Seems he doesn’t have many meal vids. Highly recommend “simnet nutrient” who is vegan ten years and nutritionist. All meal vids. Good luck !
Oh dear.....I get an allergic reaction to pea proteins/flours . Causes blood blisters in mouth and throat .
Which is a pain as more and more pre-made foods now contain it.
Any chance you will make a future video on how you make work with the Keto Vegan diet?
Thx...
Respect++
Never imagined you are a Vegan.
Please do make a video on your daily diet. Thanks in anticipation!
Ryan, I recently bumped into your channel. I learned a lot about bodyweight exercises and tension and you're freaking hilarious. Now I learn your vegan. Can I subscribe more than once?🤪 Seriously though, your videos are really informative and well made. Keep it up and thank you.
Can we get some Vegan meal videos?
In declaring EPA and DHA to be safe, the FDA neglected to evaluate their antithyroid, immunosuppressive, lipid peroxidative (Song et al., 2000), light sensitizing, and antimitochondrial effects, their depression of glucose oxidation (Delarue et al., 2003), and their contribution to metastatic cancer (Klieveri, et al., 2000), lipofuscinosis and liver damage, among other problems.
Thank you for this video, my younger sister is Vegan and she's been wanting to jump on the band wagon like everyone else and after how happy and healthy I've been on keto for the last 4 years.
Tell her to eat what Brian Clement of Hippocrates health Institute says
Just discovered your channel. Love the videos and as a vegan, even more so. Thanks for the great content.
Could you do an updated video of what you eat? I’m doing your home gym program and wondering what to eat. I have nutrilite vegan protein and I am willing to cut way back on carbs. I just don’t know what day to day would look like. Is it 2500 calories of shakes?
Well I been doing keto for 9 years and last year felt prompted to start vegan. I did and loved it, so I am that keto guy doing vegan 😅 I love keto it helped me so much but I felt in love with vegan. I’m making my life harder 😂 I been doing both. But I will adjust my diet and do it right Thanks for the information . Y
I agree with eliminating pufa, what do you think of stearic acid?
Curious about the pea protein mate. Doesn’t powder formed foods spike insulin which could hamper ketosis?
Ryan! When did you stop being vegan and why? I'm starting that journey now....
Okay, so what do you eat, what does a meal plan for vegan Keto look like?
If you could make a full breakdown of a healthy vegan keto diet and supplements I'd pay to see that. Really want to make a change. But until then ill keep watching your vids and doing my own research.
I have been on healthy keto for three years, my husband for one year. We both no longer take any medications. But about the last year or so I have gained some weight back-not cheating- we both think the older we get, the more sensitive to dairy we become. Bloating, etc. so....here we are trying dairy free keto. I am ready to try total vegan, so glad you mentioned pea protein. Thanks.
Pea protien on keto? Brilliant! I haven't had a protein shake since I started keto a year ago! Thank you!
So like 12 pea protein shakes a day? With power greens mixed in then top up with Coconut oil? Haha I’m down but would be keen to see what the extreme version of this is
