Back in the 80s the vegan lie was you could eat healthy and cheap on a vegan diet. I had all the literature on combining whole grains, etc. So not a white diet.
The results.
Weight gain, even though not over eating.
Made my gluten intolerant, which I had since age 5 and was finally diagnosed at 47 worse. The semi vegan food pyramid was just as bad.
My gut became massive. Always in pain. The chronic constipation I had since childhood became worse. I at more Albran as a child than most people eat in a lifetime. The growing pains, arthritis in my knees became worse.
Had PMS, for the only time in my life. It became a massive issue with the semi vegan death diet known as the food pyramid.
Depression
The hunger shakes I had from childhood became worse. If you can eat an apple on a empty stomach and you are more hungry, you are carb sensitive. If you get the hunger shakes, low blood sugar, you are very carb sensitive. I could have not fasted on the vegan death diet.
It is when my morning body temperature went from 98.6 to 94. It took 10 years on a human, low carb diet to bring it back to normal. Then I regained my eyebrows.
Thanks for sharing ! Is your actual diet near carnivore ?
Sounds like you're feeling much better!
stay carnivore !!!...and avoid plants they contain antinutrients
*Oh what a refreshing voice of intelligence, sanity and empathy.* THANK YOU. I am so tired of the petty and often brutal tribalism and endless attacking from all sides. One against vegans. The other against carnivores. And all the ignorant blabbering in-between. You Sir, are probably one of the few experts that understand how to fit all the puzzle pieces. SO many people today are dogmatic without knowledge and can not grasp shades of grey in between the black and white. I measure the other "experts" against your wisdom and ALWAYS choose your advice when in doubt. You're Tough Love peppered with trustworthy brilliance. THANK YOU.
Thank you!
I was a keto-vegetarian for years. It worked just fine, though muscle mass was difficult to build for me, I had no trouble losing weight. I did not eat any starchy food, grains, or sugar. I now prefer a more animal-heavy diet, but still eat some vegetables for completeness in micro-nutrients without using supplements.
Finally, someone who opposes the evangelistic aspect of diet preferences. Thank you.
Totally happy being an omnivore, loving meat and veggies, both, and always increasing my knowledge of healthy eating.
Carnivore is the way. It saved my life. Off all meds, down 235lbs, and labs are great.
How wonderful. Congratulations.
For you.
So you tried veg keto and it didn't work? Nope!
Yes I am plant based keto, saved my life
What a wonderful video for us plant based people that want the benefits of low carb eating. The fact that I can add legumes, along with cheese and eggs will be an absolute game changer for me. Thank you Dr. Cywes!❤️
What a relief to have found this video.
There are many people from certain cultures who have never eaten animal products(+/- dairy). It would be impossible for them to eat suddenly now in their life for metabolic heath. This video would be so helpful for them to still attain metabolic health by reducing carbs and increasing fats.
This video is a must watch for them.
DrCywes has nailed it in this video that it’s not about evangelizing diets but approaching it with common sense.
Thank you Thank you!!!
You’re the best.
Brilliant! I wish I lived near your practice. I would apply in a heartbeat. RN with thousands of hours and many years of this exact research. Surgical nurse, peds, oncology, skin cancer and melanoma, family health…..I’ve done it all but this content is what I WANT to do!!! Bravo Dr. C for helping soooo many sick people and taking the backlash for it!
I saw a report out of Belgium where a parent that was a vegan and made their kid eat the same diet. The child died. The child died do to lack of proper nutrition.
Hopefully more people will listen to you sir
Vegans who breast feed babies have led to dead babies as well
Same thing happened in Italy 🇮🇹 which actually resulted in changes to Italian law to protect children from ignorant vegan parents.
You can go online and look up children who have starved to death on a vegan diet. It is illegal in Italy.
Wow
I saw a report out of "insert country here" where a
parent that was a carnivore and made their
kid eat the same diet. The child died
The child died do to lack of proper
nutrition.
Post the report. Otherwise it's just a useless and misleading anecdote!
I did carnivore for a year and a half….there were several things that got better, but they were minor. Several things that just wouldn’t get better, and few that were worse. I recently started experimenting and added plant foods. I definitely realized that I can eat plants OK now, but not carby ones. I do feel better than when I was doing carnivore. Not saying that’s the perfect diet, but maybe I just needed a really slow transition and carnivore was too fast.
me too. salads bok choy etc plus 20g of carbs help me feel better so agree
My bf and I did a carnivore diet for a month , it was really hard on my body, and for him was worse
My wife and I are carnivores. However. We are NOT pedantic about it. We understand that when certain "foods" come about, you eat them. We go back to carnivores.
Thank you so much Dr Cywes, for this very balanced video content. Much appreciated. Now please can those commenting take note with regards to the diet fanaticism/evangelism you've mentioned that I see so often in the comments section of most videos on diet produced on You Tube ... these not helpful, they are often hurtful, unkind and cruel, simply because of the "hatred" and prejudices folks have towards other peoples diet choices. I'm not trying to be unkind here. We all need to be respectful of diet diversity as no one size fits all. Use food to nourish our bodies and minds, be open to change, be accepting of diversity. We don't have to agree with everyone, but we do need to be respectful of everyone. Thank you
There is a lot of backlash among low carb dieters. I have been low carb for 28 years. I have caught a lot of shit from everybody who was not low carb my entire life. It is really hard not to give some of it back. I walked the walk and no one gave a shit. And their health sucks and at 73 years old, mine is pretty damn good.
Yes it is possible to eat a high plant based diet and be healthy. But it is vastly harder to do it. And for all of those who want to sanction it, all they do is encourage those who can’t eat plants to keep doing it. I can’t get any of my family members to change when they desperately need to.
I'm glad you made this video. I've been wanting something like this from someone in the Low Carb/Carnivore community for a while now.
While I am extremely low carb hypercarnivore, I know one person personally and of another person connected to a close family member who both get sick if they eat meat and animal products, including milk.
Only two people, but enough for me to know that there are those who cannot metabolically tolerate animal foods, but do very well on plant foods.
While you didn't go into that specifically, I did like that you pointed out that some vegetarians can eat healthily, if they do it right.
I have decided that I have no problem with a vegetarian who has a medical aversion to eating meat, but have found myself very critical of those who don't eat animals for the sake of animals, especially knowing that plant farms tend to indiscriminately and unknowingly kill extremely large numbers of animals.
What is a hypercarnivore ?
Sometimes people who have been vegan/vegetarian for years do NOT have the necessary gut bacteria to digest meat. They lack the needed microbiome to digest it -- so it causes distress. Like all drastic changes, take baby-steps at first.
Exactly
@@Mary.Mercedes It takes time for them to develop the bacteria to digest meat again.
I went from plant based, over time, thru low carb and then to carnivore. If I had switched fast I could have been very sick. BUt going slow, gave my gut time to change.
@dirkmoolman Hypercarnivore is an animal that eats no less than 70% meat and no more than 30% vegetation. It is a scientific designation of diet.
*Please devote an entire video with an in-depth discussion of FIBER.* Especially on a carnivore diet. So much conflicting advice on this. I feel serene and happy when consuming ONLY beef. In fact, I have lost my taste for ALL other meats. Beef and butter digest perfectly for me. I've read the book on fiber lies by the Russian author. The truth is always the inverse of the FDA food pyramid. Love to hear your wisdom on this. Thank you for this fabulous channel.
Fiber not necessary. Done.
LOL
@@robertcywes2966
@@robertcywes2966 HAHA. Ok
I love this!!! I have a sister who is vegetarian, so I will have to pass this video on to her. Thanks for the information!!
I don’t talk diet with family unless they ask. It’s like politics or religion when you don’t agree. Best avoided like the plague.
At 59 I’m 30lbs overweight so I now have be really careful what I eat and when. My husband is 74, very tall, very slim, fantastic health markers. He’s metabolically very healthy. He eats a wide variety of foods, doesn’t overeat. That’s life 🤷♀️
"Fantastic health markers" these days include elevated insulin and low cholesterol. I hope you're not referencing those.
@@darkfieldcarnivore3928don't forget a fatty liver. The norm these days.😢
@jellybeanvinkler4878 Yes, but fatty liver, despite glucose levels, is a result of chronically elevated insulin.
I’d rather drink olive oil for my meals than eat carnivore so thank you very much for a discussion on covering the nutritional bases.
Coconut oil is almost all saturated fats by the way. Olive oil is the reverse.
Pescatarian - Keto is an interesting idea. I love fish 😊
Plant based keto is much better than the standard American diet. But ketovore is much better than plant based keto.
Please send me proof about omnivore keto is better than plant based keto!
I'm not even sure about that.
Are there any cultures that have survived on strictly vegan diets? I don’t know of any. It seems impossible without modern conveniences such as vegan-friendly B12 supplements.
Allowing eggs and dairy makes a huge difference.
In practice, yes, eggs mean the death of most male chickens. Chickens are omnivorous and would eat humans happily if we were small and stupid enough to catch: they commonly eat the smaller mice that try to steal chicken feed, and in wartime it’s not unknown to see hens feeding on dead humans. I know, I know, we must be MORE NOBLE than poultry and not even eat their eggs, because whatever beliefs drive people to veganism…
@@markiangooleyI think the main reason is cost, you can buy a month's supply of vegetables cheaper than grass fed meat and pasture raised eggs/chicken. Pair that with the belief that these people seek to reduce/eliminate the suffering on this planet.
Please explain how one achieves ketosis on all-carb diet.
Dear Dr Cywes, would you kindly share your opinion on oxalate accumulation in our body when we consume plant based food?
Crock of BS imho
Cook your veggies and drain. Problem solved. Thousands of years old method.
When I cut them out my depression and brain fog cleared. Just anecdotal. But I wasn’t expecting that.
I was eating a lot of peanuts, almonds and a good bit of mixed greens. Now mostly beef. Even from keto it was a withdrawal and transition period where I was detoxing. Try it. Experiment away.
With the overall goal of metabolic health, well said.
I am a vegetarian so this video has very useful information Thank you
Thank you Dr Cywes for helping to educate me on metabolic health and understand my emotional relationship(stress management) that I’ve had with food instead of eating to survive! Really admire your compassion to help!!
I have a very dear friend whom the doctors tell her she is in heart failure…. She is 73 and has had a very long bout with her health. Can her condition be reversed at all? I desperately want to help her!!! My heart breaks as she is an absolutely wonderful person and I would love to see her improve!!!
Can only improve. DR ERIC WESTMAN at Duke does this
Doctor you have changed my life. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this information, found it at the right time! I used to be keto and was leaning more carnivore as well sometimes but then every time I ate meat and eggs I used to get so sick, eventually had to give up. Being vegetarian for first 3 years felt great, up to now. I have digestion issues, hold so much water weight and look swollen/puffy all the time. I am doing my research on vegetarian keto options and making my shop list to try it out.
Love the balanced advice! Thank you 😊
That almost sounds like the everything in moderation kind of talk. Poison in moderation is still hurting your quality of life. Legumes, peanuts, almonds and spinach should not be eaten by humans.
I'm saving this one to watch again!
Thank you. I am trying my best but I realized that I could be eating emotionally zero carb food ,and strictly for nutrition the food that is plant based. Different style of eating ( Rottweiler vs picking at it), and different feel. So I decided that the best path for me to keep my intermittent fasting at at least 18:6 schedule ( couple times a week I do 20:4) and keep my carbohydrate content at the lowest level that I can keep. No snacks. Sometimes carb content is high, bean or lentil soup.
I am glad to see this information. I knew there were some some information out here in keto land for vegetarian or more vegetarian based foods and recipes. Healthy Keto is what I would like to try. If it's more budget friendly than the Keto Carnivore elimination diet !
Thank you
What I genuinely do not understand is how a vegetarian ever feels full and satisfied. I love a good salad, but I need protein if I am going to feel satiated.
Doc I started listening to you absolutely great Instructions ,God bless you 🙏, The Eagle Yank From the Other Side of the Tank❤🦅🥂
Great information! Thank you.
Thank you Dr. Cywes for making this video.
I eat once a day and often eat out of cans - sardines, mackerel, etc. and use plastic forks. No fancy dishes for me. 😮
What are you? 2 years old?
Great video! My only problem with vegans and vegetarians, and I have done both myself, is when it is justified by claiming it is better for the environment, which I also did at one point. After 3 decades working in plant crop agriculture, there is no doubt in my mind that any type of row crop agriculture, even sustainable organic, which is what I did, is remotely better for the environment than responsibly raised, grassfed livestock.
Agreed
Was eating huge salads, lots of nuts, avocados, decent fat through bacon eggs chicken, some berries, but was not eating enough protein to avoid lean mass loss. Making a point of adding lean ground beef seems to help stabilize muscle loss, doing less core work now replaced with simple body weight isometrics and started weight training to go with walking.
It is so important to get baseline bloodwork and tests before starting any diet. Monitor along the way.
Do you or have any affiliates in the UK that you recommend ?
Thankb you for your insight 😊
It's good to hear you talking to the vegetarian. That can be difficult for someone who's gone carnivore. I have vegans in my immediate family, I wish I could talk to.
I feel that you use the term obesity too often. I realized there are a lot of people who come to this space to lose weight. But they need to know that their weight has nothing to do with their health. Obesity is not a disease because it has no symptoms of its own.
There is different channels for the fat acceptance brigade. This isn't it. This is for people who accept they're fat & unhealthy and wish to better themselves.
Love you content
well said Dr
Carnivore was fantastic for my diabetes and my blood pressure. Not so great for my covid damaged kidneys. Had to go back to mostly low carb vegetables and little meat, mostly chicken, salmon, and eggs for protein.
Don't blame carnivore. Protein fat ratio was likely off
@@robertcywes2966 so what should the ratio be?
Great teaching , as usual ! Thanks
Thanks for putting all that heart in it Ms.Zang !
My CAC score from eating a SAD diet. After 5 yrs keto my CAC score was 2533.Not sure what to eat.now.
Thanks for this video. Please can you elaborate on why not to eat tofu?
Great advice. Thank you. Would you do a diet for late stage cancer patient who is not low carb but is afraid to try it with Intermittent fasting as they have lost so much weight
Have you watched Jeff/Blessings on my journey? Great channel w/ lots of examples etc. He has stage 4 cancer.
Yes
Can you do an episode on smooth transition to ketovore for old, obese, prediabetic women?
Ok. You've asked to leave comment. Here is my. Vegan diets lack specific peptides like carnitine and carnosine. Very important peptides which are synthesised in the body from precursors, but in insufficient amounts in adulthood. Especially if one has heart disease, ocular disease or kidney disease. You won't find these in plants, they're purely meat content. You can supplement them, but supplementation (excluding periods of leveling deep deficienties) always shows us that diet in not natural and unsustainable in long term without producing disesease or disfunction. The same applies to vitamin B12 and real vitamin A. There are no pure-plant based sources of these. However, if someone loves so much animals that wants to sacrifice one's own health or even life, let him/her do it.
Agreed. But vegetarian diets can be complete
Good information, hello from Angola Indiana
Been there!
@@robertcywes2966 that is really awesome, I don't usually hear that people know where Angola Indiana is.
I think of how Dr. Jason Fung substitutes fasting for complete abstinence from rice when a patient is culturally dependent on rice. Of course, for a carbohydrate addict that could be tricky…
Yes, but fasting is a good starting point....not an endpoint
I vote for optimal health for All of Us, no matter which way we can find it! I eat carnivore based these days, and yet I have fond memories for all of my favorite salads. Sigh. . A healthy life is a good life. Thank you, Dr. Cywes, for your grounded and sensible wisdom! ❤
My fond memories included gas and bloating and knife like pains and lots of time in the toilet.
"Fond memory of salad" lol - you need to get out more

@@paulcallicoat7597 I recall those days. Not keen to ever revisit them, for sure
Hi Doc, got an off topic question.
What about Leto as cure for alcoholism? I drink too much (nothing outrageous, but way more than I should) yet when I turn keto the urge instantly goes away.
Any ideas how that works?
I think carbs are processed somewhat like alcohol and eating them just reinforces addiction. Like drinking small amount nuts all the time - would make dropping the habit impossible.
Verbs and alcohol compete for the same metabolic pathway in the liver
There is a lovely lady by the name @heavenlyfan who shares vegan keto recipes. She has had great results by going keto. I respect everyone’s right to eat what they want. Vegan Keto is better than a carb heavy vegan diet, especially for those with diabetes or obesity.
Yes! Fan has wonderful low carb recipes with a sublime presentation. Her videos are natural antidepressants!
My husband has stage 4 castrate resistant prostate cancer. All the info he can find on diet is low fat minimal meat consumption high plant and fruit content. He is overweight, intermittent fasting, but snacking all day on nuts. I can’t find any info as to why fat is bad for him! I don’t think he’s getting enough protein. What to do??
Eat fat
absolutely no way i'm eating fruit ang veg. I WANT MY ANIMALS!!
I've been carnivore for 3 years and would love to know my blood numbers. I'm in the UK and the NHS is rammed with processing blood samples, GP wont get my blood checked unless i presented some problematic symptoms worth investigating.
Great video, as my husband is plant based, but I am not. (He does not need to lose weight tho but I do!) Still this is helpful because he is adding in some eggs and sardines at my urgence, for nutritional purposes.
I can’t seem to get an answer to this tho… Since Jan this year I have been basically on some form of low carb / ketovore diet, done well and lost some weight (tho now stalled). I do eat leafy greens and low carb veggies. But I now apparently have Xerostoma… very dry mouth. I do drink 2-3 packs of no sugar electrolytes and use plenty of salt, but it hasn’t helped. Do I have a hope of getting back my spit?! This happens mostly at night but not exclusively, and I do use Xylitol melts and gum. Will this ever come back… maybe if I add a few more carbs? This definitely started after I did a month or two of carnivore dieting :( I have seen other people with this issue but few videos from a MD - carnivore perspective.
We eat fish, eggs , veggies, 💝🚴♀️ just not enough!
People keep saying it's "possible" to be healthy on a vegetarian/vegan diet, but it's like playing underwater 5D chess instead of checkers.
We can only support those who need to vegetarian as best we can
What about cream in tea? Is that okay or is it considered a meal
Yes. I love me a nice cuppa tea between meals. I use unsweetened soy milk because it has much less carb than cream and I'm allergic to milk.
Horrifying to die hard carnis but I enjoy it.
Just started a keto vegetarian diet. My reasoning is I have kidney disease and should limit my animal products. I still eat eggs and cheese.
Carbohydrates in rootcrops made my blood sugar rose to 177 (only 1 sweet potato medium size). Almonds coated in chocolate sent it to 154.
Sweet potato is worse than regular potatoes. Why would you eat choc coated nuts just to complain?
@@cincin4515 Nope to find out what foods drive my sugar high. Then avoid them all together. Coz it has been a while that i haven't eaten these foods. Even rice, pasta, bread, etc.
Doc what ketone supplements can we use in South African?
just got some idea..what about blending sauerkraut to get more bacteria? (two good questions... is the bacteria just on the cabbage or are they also inside the cabbage fiber?) if they are inside, blending/chopping will make sense.
My buddies girlfriend is a vegetarian. She doesn't like vegetables. She likes french fries donuts ice cream and chocolate milk. Only skim for her. She has had a stomach bypass and tummy tuck. It's what she believes is good. Meat bad sugar good.
From what you describe, she *most definitely* does not understand healthy nutrition nor healthy lifestyle. Hopefully somehow she'll awaken before it's too late ..
She is living off of youth and residual nutrition from her parents' house, which certainly did not raise her on ice cream and French fries. She may be cute now, but she's gonna hit the wall.
I'd call that a crackhead

“Keto-Vegetarian” 🤔.. so a Nutritional Ketogenic diet is 20gms/day or less TOTAL Carbohydrates .. please explain how a Vegetarian would be able to do that ? What are their blood ketone/glucose levels ? What Nutrient dense/Satiating foods are they eating ? Sounds like they’re trying to fit a “square peg into a round hole” ✨ Sorry .. not convinced !!
I tried vegetarian with eggs when I was serious about losing weight. I lost a ton of weight on it. But it turns out I don't really digest vegetables at all, so I was basically eating 6 eggs a day for my food. Ended up anemic, lost muscle mass.
Switched to keto and after a year of that, now carnivore to lose the last 15 lbs and build some muscle back up.
I did try adding vegetables back in before going carnivore, but I don't seem to tolerate them at all anymore. They just make me hurt.

Allow me to explain...
Animals like cows can eat grass only with the help of bacteria in their stomachs. Yes, it is the bacteria which "eats" the grass first before the cow can eat it... Sorry I am just a layman on this issue.
This is similar to human digestion... a lot of plant matter we cannot digest without the help of bacteria inside our gut. If we eat processed food like pure starch and sugar we get ill over time.
Vegetables are perfectly fine providing the "good bacteria" got to eat it first. This can happen inside our large intestines or even better inside a mason jar.
Ferment your vegetables... it means give the "good bacteria" (they are everywhere) a chance. To discriminate against "bad bacteria", just add salt... about 2%. Our ancestors have known this for millions of years, modern society forgot about it.
Besides, I also ferment my milk... it is called cheese, kefir, yoghurt... It is the easiest thing in the world, because the "lactobacillus" (many different types) do all the work for you. No university degree in bio-chemistry needed... just be yourself, it is easy.
Ketones IQ works! I ran 6 miles the other day for the first time in 10 years. I normally run 3-4 and have to push myself, but a shot of IQ I was strong the whole 6 miles. But too expensive to use!
Have you tried MCT oil yet, just out of interest? 😉
I bought some. It’s US$5 a dose if you buy enough. That’s very expensive but if you drink one instead of eating a meal, and think of it as a replacement… $5 is now relatively cheap for fast food, but rather expensive for some home-cooked meals.
@@gaynorbishop9749 No but might try it out if it gives same results.
I bought a box of ketone IQ a while back, it tastes terrible, but I felt ok using it, and yes, it's very spendy.
You might want to watch the videos of Dr Sean Omara who used to be a long distance runner. MRIs showed that long distance running promotes visceral fat even though it decreases subcutaneous fat. In other words, thin on the outside but fat on the inside.
He learned that sprinting reduces visceral fat as well as subcutaneous fat. These are MRI results, (he reviewed 6,000 MRIs).
Now he sprints every other day and exercises about five minutes, when he used to run 90 minutes a day. And he is much healthier and more muscular.
Good luck veggie peeps

I love all the voices in my brain😂
My family is not vegetarian, but for reasons of ethics and cost, we eat very little meat, so I had to figure out low carb without meat maybe 80% of the time. Days and weeks in a row without meat. I found "low carb" wasn't the key thing, but "whole foods". If I'm eating whole foods I don't have to think about the carb content, that weeds out the foods that I shouldn't eat. All the breads, pasta, industrial seed oils, sweet things. FRUITS: Actually whole fruits are something that may need to be cut out. I've lost interest in almost all fruits, too sweet, but I could see someone gorging on fruit yet still following a whole food diet.
Tomatoes are a nightshade. I think they’re also a bad idea. Berries make more sense.
How healthy is Honey?
Maybe the fish in the USA is healthy but in the uk our fish is mostly farmed and very unhealthy due to what they are fed to grow them.
Agreed. Farmed fish has issues
No matter how many videos i watch and things i read, I'm still confused. So if you have hereditary high triglycerides should you still eat this way?
David Diamond had hereditary high triglycerides . He recently did a video with Dr. Shawn Baker, watch that.
@brianzamparelli9166 Thank you. I've been trying to figure this stuff out, but it's so overwhelming.
It seems a ketogenic or carnivore way of eating is the best chance we have of lowering trigs.
My panels haven't looked better.
Who has hereditary high tg. Show them to me. Never seen one
Triglycerides are raised by sugar and alcohol.
Plant Based: Animal Based. “Based” is the operative word. Based, references foundation. Nutritional strict.
I know a few midwives (not even carnivores) who won’t take on vegan clients anymore because overall they have worse pregnancy and birth outcomes and issues.
obviously very usefull info, doc. I was wondering whether you might comment on boiled wheat berries in a vegan diet. I love the nutty taste and how it keeps me full for ages. I do remember you mentioned "no grains at all", so at the risk of getting yelled at, pls do mention this wheat berry thing. Wheat berries are listed as very low gi / gl. Ty in advance.
Eggs, heavy cream and extra mature cheddar if you can tolerate them are the key to being a vegetarian BUT NEVER VEGAN!!!
Exactly
For a second there I read extra manure. 😂😂😂
Anything is better than the standard American diet.
Dr. Sean Omara’s videos of the MRI’s of the abdomens of two individuals might make you rethink veganism. Dr Omara had a grant from the National Science Foundation and reviewed the MRIs of the abdomens of6,000 individuals.
The first video is called New Vegan client from India. He found this individual to have the most visceral fat he had ever seen on MRI.
The second video is called, Beautiful at age 59, Medically Explained.” This woman had very little visceral fat and she had been on the Atkins diet for decades.
MRIs verify that the more carbohydrate, the more visceral fat.
I did veggie keto for 6 months, felt fantastic, lost 1kg a week initially . Totally recommentd. As an ex frutatian, i missed fruits that after 6 nibths i lapsed into pineapple season....
From one super restrictive diet to another. That's called an eating disorder.
💯,
Getting enough protein on a vegan keto diet is extremely difficult. To get protein on a vegan diet, it requires beans (carbs) and grains (carbs). How can you stay in your carb range? Fats are not hard on a vegan diet, its the protein thats hard for the vegan keto person
Exactly! I found the drive to get enough protein requires huge calorie/carb intake---> weight gain.
Agreed
hence the eggs.. 🙂
if the goal is to aavoid carbs, how are beans okay but not tofu?
Tofu is almost the only complete vegan protein and is wayyyy lower carb than beans
Vegetables - you are what you eat
I'm a cookie. 😂😂😂
@@cincin4515 me too unfortunately trying to quit my sugar cravings, proving very hard.
What's about fiber? Robert Lustig says fruits are no problem because of the fiber.
Dr., are you saying to avoid fermented product such as kimchi and sauerkraut? My bratwurst will never be the same!
Every now and then ok. Like a glass of wine if ur not an alcoholic
Why are you hanging off every word of a stranger. Eat your kimchi and sauerkraut if it doesn't affect you.
@@robertcywes2966 - why?
I love full fat plain Greek yogurt! I eat about a cup every day. I don’t feel bad when I eating it. Is it not good for me?
Carnivore is good if you want to eat , feel good, and live till 60.
How about some red wine ?
Plantbased.
Have you read Dr. Gundry’s unlocking the keto code .. and his take that it is the mitochondrial uncoupling that occurs in ketosis that actually produces the benefits ….
That's science...this is life
Gundry is pushing Seventh-day Adventist ideas about diet, true fact.
@@ClassicJukeboxBand actually no .. Gundry says he eats dairy .. seafood and occasional grass fed red meat .. so yeah
I will say I am not an MD.
However I do have a degree in sports nutrion and basic biology knowledge.
I have a wife that has been in med lab for 22 years that started off in diet and nutrition and now gets to see the results of all of these nonsensical diets today. I don't believe there is better dietary advice out there than what Dr Esselstyn has and still is teaching. Or Dr Kim Williams (ex president of cardiology)
Or Dr Cyrus Khambatta PhD for diabetes. The loma linda study should've really helped the deniers.
? Is milk bad for the prostate?
It is, dairy is highly inflamatory which causes many issues in the body, problems with the prostate is one of them, milk is for babies real men eat Ribeye steak 💪
@@crisch5670nicely said.
@@crisch5670High fat dairy is not necessarily inflammatory. Depends on gut biome.
Raw is OK 👍
@@williammccartney4833 you are kinda right high fat dairy like butter and heavy cream are the way to go in terms of dairy products, It's a matter of personal choice , in my case I tend to gain a lot of weight and fat with every kind of dairy so I rather stay away from it...
