This guy is awesome. This was literally a free doctor's visit, and probably more informative and helpful than most anyway! I lift heavy and play lots of games and these tips, and others from his other videos, really really helped!
For real, my doctor just told me to click less and wear a brace. Didn't even examine it. thanks Dr. Levi!
went to urgent care last week, i felt super rushed. all she said was to press my wrists together and if it hurts it means carpal tunnel. since it didnt work shes all like "ok im putting you on minimal activity using the mouse and keyboard for 2 weeks". (literally my job) nothing else. no treatment options besides ibuprofen (F that). said to come back in 2 weeks, lol nope. thank you dr Levi!!
I used to have issues with carpal tunnel myself. I did find treatment for it though. Go here to learn how I cured it: CarpalTunnel.club
I'm pleased for you & to now know this
So you guys are complaining about your doctors for not examining you, while praising a doctor that did not examine you and gave you the exact SAME recommendations: brace, less aggravating activities and anti-inflamatory medication. You both have a serious case of doublestandarditis.
this guys setup makes him look like hes speaking to us from doctor con
looool
lol agreed
There are a few factors in exercises to lessen carpal tunnel syndrome pain. One plan I discovered which successfully combines these is the Dariks pain destroyer (google it if you're interested) definately the most helpful resource that I've heard of. Check out the incredible info .
I laughed so hard at this
Laughed way too hard at this lol
Dr Levi Harrison is the man the gaming community needs.
I've been researching treating carpal tunnel syndrome at home and discovered an awesome website at Dariks pain destroyer (google it if you're interested)
If you want help getting rid of carpal tunnel then go here now: HootHand. info
here's a few suggestions for relieving carpal tunnel syndrome pain at home
Do stretching exercises
get expert advice as it can lead to permanent damage
(I learned these and why they work from Dariks pain destroyer site )
@Harrison Dudley pretty sure league of legends is how I got mine but I dont really play games anymore. Working out sure does not help since all I do is weightlifting now and i woke up looking up a video because of how much it kept me up last night.
Trueeee
Guitar players appreciate you too. You mention people who type and game but musicians can really appreciate this. Thanks Dr Levi.
Sixto Melendez that's why I'm here, lost feeling in my fingertips playing guitar, and immediately came here for help
That's why I'm here as well
Me too
Yep I am a violinist and have a lot of wrist issues, came here for help.
If you want help getting rid of carpal tunnel then go here now: CarpalTunnel.club
Are these also useful for de quervain syndrome which is another type of pain in the wrist. Not sure if I spelled it correctly.
Why can't we have more people like him???? I suppose having so few makes him extra special but seriously he is a great communicator.
Blending eastern and western lines of medicine . Also telling truths about options - you are blessed Doctor - thank you ! 🙏🏼
4:52 Refreshing to hear a doctor that is open to holistic approach first. Thank you!
100% on that comment.
THANK YOU DR. LEVI FOR NOT BEING STINGY LIKE OTHER DOCTORS IN EXPLAINING THOROUGHLY BOTH CONDITIONS. MAY GOD BLESS YOU!!!
You need to be mentioning the primary treatment for carpal tunnel, Massage therapy. A medical massage can fix carpal tunnel. You need to work not only on the forearm, but also the shoulder and hips. There is no nerve entrapment that isn't first from the muscle, because that is what directly affects the bone.
I appreciate that you try everything for your patient before just jumping right to surgery...You also simplified everything for me. Thank you
aww man thats what i love to hear!!!! a doctor that brings together all kinds of treatment options and is actually interested in healing the right way! smart man right here. i aspire to be like you one day! God bless!
Thank u @Dr. Levi
I am a Hair Stylist and carpal tunnel is a VERY COMMON injury in my profession! Along with many other long term issues. I currently do physical therapy twice a week and I see the chiropractor every 6 weeks JUST TO SURVIVE! I know a lot of my colleagues can't afford all of that so I like to share as much knowledge as I can with them.
I will be sharing your channel and page on our Team chat! This video was just what I needed
The first and only video I've ever seen that details a diagnosis between both of these, this has saved me an expensive office visit in a little over 8 minutes. Now I know I have tendonitis and not CTS so I can do all of the correct PT and not aggravate it even more.
Hi Dr. Levi, just came across your channel this morning in my search for wrist strengthening exercises. I’m a massage therapist and have sprained both wrists in the space of about 3 weeks. Thank you for the work you do to inspire and educate and I look forward to watching more of your videos. I will also use the information to educate my clients about their health and strength, I appreciate your holistic approach to wellness.
Dr. Levi Harrison University. I'm truly blessed by this Doctor.
Very grateful for all of this information and genuine insight. I've incorporated so many of the exercises into my routine to help my hands which have given me issues since a couple years ago. I'd hate to have to play games, type, play my instruments, and cook a lot less because of my hands being weak and bothered.
mary dono hands ma buht tklif ha kaya karon .
Exactly
Honest and down to earth, thanks Doc
Tendonitis can be a rare side effect of medication as well. I only started experiencing what I could only describe as "a randomly sprained wrist with no apparent cause" on BOTH my hands at different times, after being on Wellbutrin for a couple months. Really frustrating.
Oh my goodness, I am on Wellbutrin for a few months and have pain in my right hand which I thought was carpel tunnel
I've been pretty upset about my wrists lately, I'm a violinist, I work out at home and I love it, and quarantine this past months has made me sit on my laptop all day to get through college.
I'm 18, I get constant pain on my wrists and forearms, I noticed I can only control the pain if I keep my wrists straight, but now I can't lean on my hand to stand up it if I'm sitting on the floor, I can't do high planks, I can't do pushups, or mountain climbers, I can't even grab something that's a little heavy because it hurts, I can't sleep at night if my wrists aren't straightened, it's really annoying.
I don't know what caused it, I do a lot of pushups, but my form is right, I did Crossfit for 3 years (I stopped 2 years ago) and I learned the correct form. I guess it was the laptop posture, for a lot of weeks I was using the touchpad and I didn't check how high my table was, I corrected that (desk is at the height where my wrists stay straight and there's a 90 degree angle for my arms), but I'm sick of the constant pain. I've rested from working out my upper body for about 4 weeks now and the pain's still there
17,, same.. im really upset with my wrist it cause me discomfort in doing EVERYTHING. ffs
Have you tried massage therapy?
Same bro, de quervian synovitis ? Irritated to the core : past 2 years ... Any particular exercise or video I shd check out ?
I'm late to this comment but wrapping my hands and wrists with kinesiology tape to limit my range of motion (slightly) and stop my wrists from being flexed during sleep has helped wonders, even 24hrs after wrapping I could feel the results. limiting the range of motion allows you to reduce further damage and prevent setbacks while your ligaments and tendons heal and using OTC anti-inflammatory meds helps for comfort when the pain is at its worst. Compression gloves for arthritis achieve the same results but make sure to get a good brand/quality gloves with no fingertips so your day to day activities aren't interrupted.
The wraps or gloves itself aren't going to heal you but allow you to keep safe so that you can heal without potentially prolonging the process by reinjuring yourself. If you're short on cash or don't feel like spending too much money on good compression gloves you can get kinesiology tape for pretty cheap and check how you feel after a week of keeping yourself wrapped up. There are a couple videos on youtube that show you how to apply the wraps correctly and you can replace the tape every 3 days.
I HAVE THE SAME THING AND I PLAY THE CELLO
it has happened to me before but it went away... this time it looks like it’s staying
FYI he starts talking about tendonitis around 5:30 in the video.
Wow! I wish there were more doctors like you...😊
Thanks so much man, you're godsend
The first time I’ve come across this doctors profile and wow, he is so informative, easy to understand, and I learned so much in an easy calm manner! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos!!
Thank you Dr. Levi for explaining the signs and symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome and tendinitis. You did an awesome job as I had the nerve conduction test done today and I am anxiously awaking the results to see if I need surgery. I really appreciate the time you took to explain this to us. ☺️
How are you doing. Did you have carpal tunnel
So glad that I have found this channel! Truly a blessing! Can "FEEL" your sincere. caring spirit! Your videos give us hope! May God bless you and your practice!❣
I am glad to hear that. Thank you!
Clear, factual, helpful information and advice with no filler or 30 second intro. Instant subscribe. I wish all videos were like this. Thank you sir!
A surgeon who recommends non invasive treatment first? You Dr Harrison are a rare jewel.❤
I dunno about rare. Haven't heard of many legit surgeons who will go straight to invasive surgery when not needed, and I've seen my fair share. Virtually none will go "oh you have some tendon/nerve pain, let's open you up and operate!"
It really depends on the severity of the problem, history and when non-invasive treatment fails.
Most surgeons and other doctors, when it comes to joint/tendon pain, are gong to try with non-invasive things like rest/stretching/exercises/etc. That's not to say there aren't some doctors who won't go straight to prescribing some meds(pain relievers, anti inflammatory, relaxer), but even then it's usually due to the severity and word of mouth from patient of what has or hasn't worked so far. Then of course there's straight up shady doctors
@@muddyhotdog4103 In my case, my doctor immediately talked about surgery. I have very slight numbness in my index finger and thumb, not always, and the electromyography exam showed slight compression of the medial nerve. I will investigate the matter further and ask for a second opinion. I don't take surgery lightly.
Very helpful - like your style - respect!
This is a very honest doctor and someone like him is hard to find. God blessed him.
Thank you! Very informative. I'm glad everyone can access this information for free. You're a real hero.
Love how he explains things..
As a guitarist and pianist I really appreciate this information. Thank you.
I had to watch twice, because the first time I was just admiring you. Lol
this is a well scuplted man.
@@thedreamcapture2681 no,he's a doctor
Lol right! Gorgeous man!
Personally, you are one of the smartest people I've known, not completely known ( Persona. ) but the way you talk and deliver your information has brought me that your intellect is very high and you use that in your medical degree and with that disposition, you have helped alot of people. I wish I could get more wisdom from you... - Mahalo!
FINALLY a clear and precise explanation! We need more doctors like Dr. Harrison. Thank you.
I could listen to this dude all day, voice is smooth as butter
Thank you Sir. U just explained carpal tunnel better than my doctor. Salute!
Thank you 🙏❤❤❤💗💓 I can't see a doctor and I've had pain in my wrist from typing for a while and this is so helpful and you're so nice for sharing this info for free I want to cry 💞
lol wow after he said gaming I was convinced
Thank you Dr. Levi for your knowledge and willingness to share and instruct. Many Blessings!
Helped me address some worry. The bit explaining why it is not known why carpal tunnel is caused was really appreciated. Thank you.
As a Hospitality worker, I really appreciate this. Doing a lot of lifting and repetitive things with my hand gets it really sore and annoying. Thanks for this!
Thanks for the video Dr. Levi Harrison. I have been playing for basketball for years and now I am getting constant pains in my both of my hands and wrists. I can't even give someone a fist bump or hold my phone for a couple of minutes without pain or numbness. On top of all this I am only 15 years old. My mother has carpal tunnel and hers began out of nowhere when she was 16, and it looks like mine has started as well within the past month. It sucks but it's something I'm gonna have to live with. (Also, completely unrelated, but I also have constant back pains due to bad posture and exercise over the years. I am also getting heartburn because that also runs through my family). No matter what I will continue to enjoy life though.
Do you still have it?
Do you still have CTS?
Wow, I really appreciate you Dr Levi. You have great wisdom on really helping people 'heal'. Thank you for trying to encourage people to treat their problems as holistically as possible, that is very rare from what I've experienced. Keep up the good work. 😊
This Dr. is a flowing fountain of knowledge and information.
man your channel has been an absolute game changer for my thumb pain from gaming. I now warm up and take hourly exercise breaks, as well as warm water before playing. within a week of doing that my pain was reduced by about 90%. thanks!
Thank Dr Levi I was to go for a surgery but talk has given me alternative. Blessings upon you.
You are welcome!
god in love with ur speaking and accent !
im 35 years old. I fell in love with a game many years back (about 20) my hands are broken from this game i played it so much. I made 10k or so in prize money and online transactions through the game halo 3. I played it competitive as hell and i played 12 hours every day including christmas. the last 2 halo games honestly were horrible and i didnt play them much and always found myself going back to the classic game. Now my hands dont work and halo dropped a huge game that is crazy fun and im literally crying because it takes me several hours to loosen up my hands to where I can keep up with my friends and have a good time, as it stands im playing average for the most part unless my hands feel good. Its something i do with a heavy passion of mine in my off time. I also workout all the time and this has also destroyed my hands i almost cant even feel them anymore. I have paid very close attention to one of your videos stretched out my hands for about an hour and i have feeling in them again and they feel like they did many years ago. Thank you Dr Harrison, you may have yet saved a massive passion of mine. Ill continue stretching for a couple hours a day, at this point it cant be a bad thing... thanks again man
ps i know its just a game but its something i love to do. i am a pretty successful sales person in my everyday life but halo is something i love and dr you may have helped tremendously be able to bring me back to my glory days lol. thanks
Hi if you need more info to help with ur wrist, here’s this video it’s received a lot of positive feedback in the comments. I recommend! ua-cam.com/video/fdD7CgN5FGg/v-deo.html
This was one of the most genuine videos ever. Thanks.
Love you, thank you for these videos, every time I see a new video I remember I should be doing the exercises before I can't use my hands anymore!
This was an amazing, clean, concise help, Dr. Levi! I've been an athlete for awhile and I've learned a lot of stretches and exercises to aid folks' bodies, but that information didn't come from nowhere! I'm happy that you're sharing your knowledge and expertise with the world and I'm only a few videos in, but I'm definitely recommending your channel to folks!
One of the best doctors on the internet. Down to earth and very informational. Thank you sir!
Really appreciate this. Will check out the rest of your videos. Thank you Dr. Levi and the team!
Thank you!! Just a crazy accident while I was moving caused a tendonitis injury for me. Your advice is priceless.
Thank you Dr. Levi for the most informative and helpful advice I've come across on the subject of carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis and repetitive stress injuries. You come across as very genuine :)
Thank you so much Dr Levi. This is so helpful. My doctor didn’t even explain to me like that. God bless you!!
Dr. Levi thank you for the info, you are awesome!!!!!
god, how i love this man.
Love this man's manner. Really got me when he said to do the least first and save the invasive (surgery) for the absolute last resort. Medical and technical language included within common-sense and common-language perfectly blended and understandable. You Rock, Doc.
What a great video! Thank you for the public service you are offering with this information. So well explained!
thank you so much for this video. my job has led to me developing tendonitis in my right wrist. this helped me determine what it is and your channel has helped me learn so much about strengthening my wrists to lessen future injuries! thank you so much Dr Levi!
Thank you, Dr. Levi. I am a 57 year old court reporter. I've been reporting for 37 years. Stiffness and pain has been slowly creeping into my hands over the last few years. Still not sure if tendinitis or carpal tunnel, but am going to try some of the stretching exercises
and see if that alleviates some of the pain. Thanks again for your very informative video.
Wow someone I can hear and understand, and on top of that I get the feeling I can trust the info thank you.
Thank you for explaining this so well. Your video helped me understand that because it's my pinky and ring finger that are numb and tingling, it's not carpal tunnel - probably cubital tunnel syndrome instead. I'm not even a gamer, but I think it's cool that you recognize gamers as athletes.
Just seeing this. What a special human!! Thank you so very much!! ❤️
You are welcome!
Thank you bro, youre the best. Unlike most doctors here you explained everything slowly and clearly. Thank you.
Thank you Dr. Harrison! Your explanation is clear and understandable. I appreciate your efforts to educate.
What you said at 5:00 minutes I was diagnosed in 2005 with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome it got so severe nothing at all worked I just had surgery on the first hand today second hand May 7th whoever is watching just don't wait that long because I was extremely close to doing irreversible damage by waiting so long.
thank you for educating us of our option before surgery. I have met the holistic man, Dr. Sebi, when I was still living in my home state of CALI. I am deeply sadden by his death.
I am so relieved to learn this is the source of my pain, I had pain in my hands and thought I might have rheumatoid arthritis! I recently got back into pc gaming and clearly overdid it. I will rest and exercise and hopefully it will improve
Excellent video on the differences! Found it helpful. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Fuckin right, this man hit every nail on the head. Clear and concise. Used proper terminology. Covered both types of wrist pain and helped me dramatically.
Wow. Thank u. You’re a life saver. Many blessings
God Bless you, Dr. Levi. Thank you!
Thanks so much! Im struggling. Hard to do much if thumbs are all jacked up
Great video. Helped me enormously. Thank you, Dr. Harrison.
I love your philosophy on marrying Eastern and Western medicine. I’m having pain in both hands every morning for the last two months, and now I’m starting to feel some numbness and tingling during the day. Would love to hear any thoughts you might have.
Go to the doctor please, you may need surgery if the numbness continues or gets worse.
Doc...this is one of The Best videos i have Ever seen....Thank You So Much....Much Love & Blessings to You & Yours
Great 👍
Thank you so much for the info. I'll be following your advice. I'm living this
Great doctor and very informative details.
This is much more informative than being told to take paracetamol so thank you. My doctor was adamant to give me a scan but got one (for my hip) and asked the doctor about my wrist who kindly scanned it, even though he wasn't supposed to since that's not what that appointment was for. My GP doctor then said to just take paracetamol after receiving my report and telling me I have tendinitis. It's been over a year long I have had this
Thank you for your videos. My tendinitis and carpel tunnel effects me so much. I'm in a wheelchair active. And now it seems as it not just effect my hands now. But also my elbows. I'm not for surgery because it's a risks. Thanks for your info and educating. The wheelchair community suffers big time from this. Other alternatives is good. Because all you have sometimes is your hands and arms. Ive read many post, just like how I feel. There is not a night I rest without pain.
Beautiful coverage on this subject and very helpful. Thank you so much 🤗
I am an artist/painter with wrist tendonitis. This advice is good for us too. I'm kinda sad I can''t paint as much as I want, but I would rather not have hefty medical bills. Take care of yourself guys! :)
Dr. Levi, I developed RA a year ago and my wrist were the first body part that caused me the most pain. I just wanted to have them removed. The pain is lessened with medication, but I've lost mobility and I'm now performing your stretches. I noticed a positive relief very soon after starting the stretches. You have made clear to me that I have Extensor Tendonitis because of when and where the pain occurs. I'll continue with the stretches as well as the strengthening exercises. Hopefully I can gain more mobility and strength so that turning door knobs aren't painful and I'll be able to pull myself out of bed with my hands and rely less on my elbows. I know it will take time, but if I don't see success in 6 months, I'll be making an appointment! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so much, you are goodness sent! 😊
Dr. Levi, Thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge, as well of peace of mind and time in explaining these things. May Jesus Bless you.
Dr. Levi❤ love this video so helpful to me realizing I have to talk with my Dr. about getting a referral to see a doctor for Tendonitis, I had a referral for a rheumatologist , now seeing your video which was great info I have to see a specialist that can help treat these symptoms
I'm glad to hear about that! You are very welcome!
Thanks, this is great, love your style of explaining stuff!
Sincere respect for the honesty
Very informative dr levi thank you
Thank you, Dr. Levi - Everyone tells me constantly that I must have carpal tunnel because I type constantly for years all day every day! However, based on your description - it is definitely more so Tendonitis b/c of where the pain is located. Thank you Thank you!!!
You are welcome!
Thank you Doctor Harrison for your videos and your sharing of knowledge
.
It sounds a lot like my pain could be carpal tunnel, but it's been going on for about 2 years now. I've tried resting for a long time, exercising, stretching, wearing a brace, applying ice and warmth. And nothing has changed. I went to my doctor a few weeks ago and gained nothing from it, she gave me the option to exercise it (she didn't give me exercises just told me there are plenty online) and to use a stress ball and if it doesn't get better to see a physical therapist. She must've not heard when I said it's been going on for 2 years and I've done everything I can. So back to stage one, and it sucks since it's not some push over issue it hurts bad and affects my everyday life, and being basically just dismissed especially when if I didn't have insurance that visit would've cost so much for nothing. I'm thankful for videos like this they offer so much more than what I have received. Obviously whatever I have isn't going to be solved by a stress ball. I worry it's arthritis with how persistent it is, but I am a young age and really hope I wouldn't have problems like this.
Dr. Harrison, we are very proud of you and your great success, wisdom & knowledge.
THANK GOD YOU STAYED FOCUSED AND NOW YOUR MEDICAL CAREER IS VERY IMPRESSIVE.
DR. HARRISON, I HAVE NERVE DAMAGE TO MY RIGHT ELBOW. WHAT MUST I DO? WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? I NEED TO SEE YOU ASAP!!
thank you, Dr for your honesty
I enjoyed this..way better than many of the other stuff I've seen.wearing a hand brace at night watching from Nassau Bahamas
I'm a bass player in a lot of misery. The numbness and pain goes all the way up my arm into my shoulder. I do a lot of push ups to stop it and usually hear a small pop or 2 on the first 2 push ups. Thank you Dr Levi.
Check your push-up form: if your elbows are moving out to the side it will be wrecking your shoulders.
Thanks Doctor very well explained. The best video out there that actually explains carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis.
