Dr. Levi has bridged the gap between medicine and e-sports! THAT is how you reach a community!
I've actually started getting problems with my hands in the last few years due to gaming. Ive done these and they are actually amazing! thanks, doc!
Same here :) peace
Same
Thanks so much for sharing
U still play games lol three years later
@@blazar5085 yeah, I'll still play games 20 years later probably. I've been playing competitively for over a decade now and part of my job has to do with gaming.
I am guitar player, I have a tennis elbow and this exercise really helped me.. Thank you very much.. I stopped with rehabilitation, with painkillers... I practise every day for 10 minutes and it works!!!!!!!
How are you today, friend?
Miroslava Simunekova I would like to know how you have held up since your injury! As a drummer and gamer I am having similar symptoms.
I suffer with tendonitis in my hands and tennis elbow regularly. I have no idea why. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago but my tendons and joints take a beaten all the time. Stay positive!
@@Jennypegz may be weak forearms or any repetitive use injury related to your forearm that you don’t notice because it’s putting the stress on your wrist

@@cattopotatopotasio9215 4 years later, no problem bro :)
Mr. Harrison, can I call you Levi? Levi, you, among all of the other doctors, have given us "HARDCORE GAMERS" tutorials of solitude. You prevailed against all of the gamer stgereotypes to gives us young boys a hopeful future with our pearly hands. Thank you.
"Mr. Harrison, can I call you Levi?" You do know that you don't have to contribute to the stereotype of gamers being uber nerds, right?
The single best video I have ever taken the time to watch. I wish I could provide more than a like and subscription.
u did by writing this amazing comment xD
Send him a check you fk
Found this video from Reddit again! So glad to have a Doctor like Dr. Levi! We love you Doc!
You know he's a gamer when he knows you don't use the d-pad a lot
See now, this is my biggest issue. My left thumb has been giving me absolute hell when using the dpad, I get a very uncomfortable aching sensation in the base of my thumb above the wrist when I have to hold for long periods directionally. Side scrolling games like Mario and Castlevania are very painful. My thumb will often twitch afterwards.
Also, anyone that games or does lots of grabby hand work or standing for a living: Please go to a gym and focus on your back and legs (or just general fitness while you're at it) for a minimum of a half hour.... that half hour of minimum exercise that doctors recommend is actually pretty generous and you'll notice work-related pains slowly piss off. Also, for gamers, you perform better if you're fit.... why do you think so many pro gamers are either relatively skinny compared to the stereotypical gamer or have way more muscle mass than the stereotypical gamer? Being healthy helps your game.
This is anecdotal evidence based on personal experiences and other people's advice... I'd love some replies either calling out any bullshit broscience based on what I just said or telling me with science that I'm hitting the nail right.
I think you have a decent point. Thanks for sharing.
It's just aging in general. I find I can't ignore these problems anymore, my body tells me:" DUDE move more! stretch more! drink more water, take care of your body, I won't be ignored!! Otherwise I will just annoy you in pain and discomfort.
Still no match against forced malnutrition :(
Thank you for doing what you do! I started doing a bunch of your suggested stretches and my hands and arms feel much better while I play! Thank you!
The last excercise of this video is insane ! I used to have finger problems where they begin to feel too rigid but after doing that excercice they feel much better, the pains is gone and they are way more flexible!
I am preparing to become a professional league of legends players so I play several hours on a daily basis and with your videos now I have a nice stretching routine and I can feel the difference massively, no more rigid fingers, wrist feels loose and flexible, forearm feels strong, really thank you so much for helping us gamers ! :D
Also is it possible to have a dedicated video of stretches for the elbow? I've noticed that sometimes the elbow feels also quite rigid and it would be really nice to loosen it up more ! Thanks !
so are you a pro yet?
@@zecurso6926 what about now
Not going to lie, I was oblivious to actually recognise that typing and gaming so much would be affecting me negatively without stretching and promoting the correct healing of tendons. So incredibly glad I found this channel when I did. Going to practice these before and after sessions now. Thank you so much, Dr. Levi.
Thanks! This gave me instant 300+bpm streaming capability.
lmfao
Man the last one is really fucking good, and you are seriously jacked.
good content my man, subbed
Thanks for another solid video. We appreciate the effort and thought you out into this, you help a lot of people. To everyone else suffering from pain, stiffness, numbness, or anything like that: TAKE A BREAK from gaming. I know it sucks but do it before you can't play at all (like me). There's a possibility you'll need surgery if you keep pushing yourself. Anyway. I played too much and a bunch of things hit me at once. Symptoms of trigger finger, carpal tunnel, gamers thumb, etc so intense I literally couldn't play anymore. My hands went numb in places and hardly worked at all. Seriously, my KD was pathetic lmao. Some things that have helped me personally are resting my hands and wrists, sleeping with wrist braces on, stretches, being mindful of my posture and trying to correct it, ice, anti-inflammatory OTCs, and KT Tape. The last one is weird. I never thought tape would help me but damn. I swear it's magic if you use it correctly. Note that I'm not a doctor and I may have different injuries than you but maybe look into some of that. Good luck, everyone. Hope ya'll recover nicely
Hi there! How are you taping? I’m having all these symptoms. Not a gamer but a mother with a small kiddo and an iPhone that I’ve way over used 😢
Thanks so much for this! I was worried about a sudden loss in grip strength and this really targets all the right spots!
Really appreciate this. Been playing games since I was young and now its taking a toll. I was surpised how weak my hands are holy crap
It sucks how I wasn’t aware when I was younger I’m over here playing like my hand were indestructible
these are awesome, helping already thanks so much!
I am subscribe. You are a blessing, I am in a dark place because how much my hands have deteriorated. I cannot game, I do not get the joy of playing. But after I finish with my on going therapy I'll follow your instructions everyday. I just want to thank you for caring about gamers and being able to understand!
Thank you for being so awesome as to provide all this info! Ive been to a great many doctors that havent provided a fraction of the information that you have, and I've paid them hundreds of dollars. Youre amazing.
Wow. It hurts first, but with the time feels better.
The last one is really hard. it looks so simple. Thanks for sharing the routine, doc.
Awesome! 👏 What about when the hand itself hurts instead of fingers or tendons? I noticed that after training speedruns focused on using multiple right hand fingers over the control as oposed as the thumb only.
This helped me with dead or alive 5 and fortnite. I love you dr levi
I’m a tattoo artist and I’m currently off work because of carpal tunnel - 12-14 hour days - and these exercises help
i had the same thing lmk if its still bothering u
Wow! The first time I did these I had to stop half way and take a break. They kicked my butt, but it's really working!! Hope you are well, sir.
didnt believe it would help but it got rid of my pain in just 3 days
got rid of my finger clicking in rhythm games, dont know if thats intended but it did
@@matthewhrndz my fingers clicked while i played rhythm games and it was super distracting
got some weird stuff going with my hands, i really hope your advice helps doc! either way you're a legend for going out of your way with these videos!
I follow a lot of physical therapists and I've been doing a lot of hand and wrist strengthening lately. These are some of the best exercises I've found. Your cues helped me to a better understanding of my body and I appreciate u for it 😁
You the man!! Subbed. Gone through years of intensely typing all day for work & gaming most nights on a console.. wrists are killing me right now. Gonna try this out doc. Thanks heaps.
HOLY man, tried these for my de quervain and my thumb isnt stuck anymore and much less pain !!! thanks
Hii. Do you still have pain now or did de quervain disappear completely
I play classical guitar and recently had some issues with pain. This has helped greatly. Thanks so much!
I'm glad I found your videos. I do a lot of work with my hands in the lab and spend quite a bit of my off time playing games and these have helped with some minor pain I've been having.
Thank you so much!! I had lately so much pain from playing and typing a lot, these exercises just helped so much!
Just had to drop out of a tournament because of issues with this, definitely going to give these a try! You’re a lifesaver!
Wow dude this was super eye opening when I did the exercises you showed. Thank you
Thank you so much I suffer really bad finger pain and couldnt sleep but now I don't hurt! Thanks so much!😁
Thank you so much! This really relieved some pain for me!
this even helps after working out I love thank you so much
Dr Levi , just the learning part of those exercises made me know that my hands needed them very much. Thank you! I don't play game consoles.
U r making millions of people life better by providing these videos . Thank You!
Playing 6-8hours a day after welding at work all day has my left wrist jacked. Just finished first run through of these exercises and I'm amazed! This is totally going to help both gaming and at my job. Thanks you so much!
How you feeling now Allen?
@@HeyMyNameIsLukas As long as i stay hydrated and use these stretches every now and again, I'm 100% back to normal.
Great. Only problem now is I think I have arthritis in my right thumb. Wrists are SOOOOOO much better. Thanks again
@@user-dc7np2ni3r did you have to take a break from your work and such as well or just adding these stretches in made it all better?
Thank You so much for your help! Finally someone's understanding us! Great work, +1 sub
This is amazing content. Thank you so much for bringing this medical education channel idea to UA-cam Dr. Harrison. Helped me alot with some pain I was just having.
I love how you have random games laid out on the table lmao
Your videos really helped me lately btw, I changed my habits and I feel so much better
About that osu video you're planning, are you going to cover the different playstyles that are out there? Just to clarify there are three main styles that most people play...
1. Mouse only, you use the 2nd and 3rd fingers to click the mouse
2. Combination of keyboard and mouse/tablet, most use the 2nd and 3rd finger on the left hand to click the keyboard, but there are outliers; some people use their 2nd and 4th finger, I personally use my thumb and 4th finger.
3. Tap+X, basically you use the tablet pen/mouse click in conjunction with the keyboard to play.
I'm pretty sure all three of these use different muscles, and depending on which fingers you use the muscle usage can differ greatly from person to person...
You may not get a ton of views but man these exercises you show us do abselute wonders! I used to have to many issues with my hands, but hardly feel any of it anymore. love the vids!
Perfect and very effective. Thanks millions
this helped me out alot Doc... I play competitive & my index fingers take a beating daily . I been using these exercise the past few days & they have helped me immensely . God bless
Thank you for this vid, I'm going to be regularly doing this, alongside stretching with my hand up and then flexed down I've seen in other vids, with some other hand flexing and rotating ones I've seen, and maybe once a week do a "big daddy" 2 min long very intense stretch with my wrist rotated 180 degrees starting straight down below me then stretching backwards after exhaling I saw in another vid that helped my wrist tendonitis a lot that started with me moving stuff last year. I thought I badly needed surgery until I looked into exercises online, I pray I get back to normal soon. At least I'm not in constant pain like before
Thank you DR.levi you are the best
this exercises have really helped out with some pain I've been experiencing, thanks doc
if i have Tendonitis can i use these for a faster recovery or is this just to prefent? plz reply thank you

Thnx for the help 😀 I'll make sure to do this every day.
When I've had a long session playing csgo my thumb feels pretty inflamed sometimes. I think this should be very useful for me - thanks Dr. Levi!
I pen spin a lot so this is pretty useful for me too
I'm a defensive end for football, love lifting weights, and a gamer. I did these excercises and holly molly did I struggle. Thanks doc!
Can these exercises heal the tendonitis? I have been struggling with pain in my fingers, wrist, even up to elbow for about a year and a half now. I barely game anymore, I am just really trying to heal, but it seems like I have no hope...

Wow, amazing Dr! I feel this exercise working. Could tendonitis be a result of lack of magnesium?
Great video as always ! When is the livestream?

This has really helped. Thank you.
A note from 2020: These still work. Thnx Doc.
Nah bro they got patched
