    Your breath holds are so long you calm your self amazingly that 2nd house with the cave tunnel was action. I would've got to excited seeing that ulua heart rate through the roof 🤯

    Couple of awesome dives there, very enjoyable to watch mate 👌 amazing to hear that monster swam to another house and shook the pole spear. Would be amazing if you ran into it again.

    Such a great video of explaining the hand spear dive techniques! I grew up with the hand spear and taught my kids to learn to dive using the same. I was stunned you found your spear 1 year latter. I hope you mounted it on the wall LOL! That would make for a great laugh! Hello from Aussie! Cheers for sharing the video! Dive safe, Eat well Bro! 👌👍🐟🤿🤙🤠🦘

    Really appreciate the breakdown. Short, sweet, straight up useful information. Watching you screw the pooch was refreshing as well. Hero shots are great, but man v. beast, it's anyone's game. I'd rather a sniper break down the shot they missed and why and what they'd do differently rather than a self- congratulating highlight reel. I'll learn WAY more from the latter. Hey, tiny piece of advice to up your media game: your audio is all over the place. It's an easy fix, too, but audio is the #1 reason for low play-through viewership. Bring down your pops (from your outdoor audio; the spiking in your audio feed), ALL your audio feed should hover around 12, and bring your noise floor down. That will really clean things up and bring your video quality into the big leagues. I hate unsolicited advice, and I'll happily f right off, but you have really great content; I'd hate to see your channel go away because your subscribers aren't growing due to a super common fixable mistake🤙🏾

    The first fish to ever pull my speargun reel was a trevally, up until then l wasn’t sure it even worked. It truly is a powerful animal. I once caught a metre long trevally in a cast net and it ripped shreds into it, l was only going for prawns then l felt the tug and barely landed it, l was so hungry l almost ate the whole thing for lunch.

    GT's on a 3 prong is not the smartest idea, but you provide excellent info! #Headhunter makes some great poles. NOMAD roller with a spectra warhead tip would be best for those GT's, IMO. What navigation device do you use to geotag good fish locations?

    Hi Mark...I've done a lot of free diving & scuba diving in Hawai'i...I lived on the Hilo side of the Big Island for quite a long time...I never did any spearfishing in Hawai'i...there's a guy I follow on UA-cam under Key West Waterman...he oftentimes also posts videos wherein he "stones" a fish...he's a very skilled spearfisherman & pole fisherman...your first shot of the 20# Ulua was perfect, but you 2nd shot @ that 50 pounder left me cringing a bit...as you said, a 50# Ulua is an extremely powerful, & very fast-swimming, fish...unless, you stoned that fish dead with an absolutely perfect shot with that 3-pronged spear, the outcome was almost guaranteed that he was going to bolt off with your spear stuck in him, & then later die, far away from where you shot him...so, was it really worth taking that shot with that setup? I'm really not trying to throw any shade your way--just interested to know if you'd reconsider taking that shot if you had a chance to take it over again...Aloha, Bill

    Why? Nice fish, but as you showed, you can lose a fish if things aren’t perfect. To me that’s like using a 3 wt for steelhead. Release the fish, but it still dies.
    I do like your channel, but not this one.

    • @strikemissions
      @strikemissions  2 роки тому +8

      Uluas are really durable fish. I don’t think Steelhead is a good comparison. As you know if you fly fish, you gill hook fish from time to time and they die. Everyone wants to just put the hero shots up because people come and criticize in the comments if it shows fails. I rather have the stuff I put out be real. Also, these are two times I’ve done it in the past ten years. It’s not a regular thing. Do you fish for Steelhead with 40# test so they won’t break line and have a hook and leader stuck in them? Wouldn’t it make more sense to use a heavy leader and bait so you have less of a chance of breaking them off? Maybe a spinner? See what I mean?

    Seems kind of irresponsible and unethical honestly. Good shot and cool video, but may serve as a bad example for less experienced spearos. High chance of injuring a fish for no reason, especially the last one.
