Loved this! One suggestion I have is when you are talking about people or a specific movie, you should put a photo on the screen so the viewers know what you are talking about! Love you guys!
I really don’t think Princess Diaries and Freaky Friday even count as DCOMs. I remember seeing them both in theaters, which is probably why the production and acting is far superior than all the others, even High School Musical (sorry ladies!).
Agreed on the DCOM point. And there were so many other actual dcoms that should have been in there
Yeah I don’t count them either I also don’t count high school musical 3 a dcom or the Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire movie as dcoms
Yeah that was so unfair to pit Princess Diaries against Princess Protection Program. Justice for PPP!
Sitting in the bus on my way home from work waiting for the Twenty Whatever girls to breath life back into me 💀💀💀
omg sierra has been talking about this video since skylar was telling her it wasn’t feasible on the main channel im so excited
Watching this makes me realize you guys are still a bit younger because parent trap, freaky Friday, and princess diaries were not DCOMs. 😅 I remember the theater releases for all 3!
Pardon my Disney nerd coming out:
I just have to come on here to say, that you had at least 4 movies on here that were not DCOMs. While they were shown on Disney Channel, they had theatrical releases and so are not DCOMs (High School Musical 3 falls under this too). They are these films, Hannah Montana the Movie, Lindsay Lohan’s Parent Trap, Lindsay Lohan’s Freaky Friday, and Princess Diaries. I was actually probably irrationally mad that those were on the bracket at all. While I love those films, they aren’t DCOM
YES! I was totally saying this the entire episode! Those weren’t DCOMS. 😭
I'm not sure Hocus Pocus counts either, but I'm not an expert haha
Hocus Pocus as well
I do agree with this. Totally different realm.
For real, I kept screaming at the screen! Also can’t remember if they corrected themselves, but Lizzie McGuire movie was a theater release too.
The fact that you had Freaky Friday battle The Parent Trap will never be forgiven, they are both TOOOOOOP! 🙈🙈 I simply cannot
Couldn’t agree more!! That should be illegal!
I have watched more of The Parent Trap than Freaky Friday 😭
There are a lot of non-DCOMs in here...Hocus Pocus, Princess Diaries, Parent Trap, Freaky Friday.
We need a redo, since the one of the final 2 isn't a DCOM! The results will probably be the same, but still!
Also, justice for Brink and Double Teamed and Thirteenth Year!
i get not being a fan of camp rock but ‘introducing me’ in the second one needs to be recognized. they did something with that number
Same but for me it’s wouldn’t change a thing. That song is a legit good duet Disney or not.
the way y’all talk about Disney throwbacks literallly heals my inner child sm
Crying in I watch luck of the Irish every St. Patrick’s day 😭
Mandy Moore actually released an album last year called "In Real Life"
Okay so was the only one who Ryan Merriman was my Zac Efron. I was so sad you ladies didn’t know who he was. Luck of the Irish has been watched multiple times in current day life for me
Very hard final choice because I love both so much… but I have to do Princess diaries. I rewatch it multiple times a year as a comfort movie. I don’t think I’ve rewatched HSM in years lol
Def where is Johnny Tsunami now!
Parent Trap vs Freaky Friday. That was so wrong🤣 jail!
I need y’all to do this again but broadway shows, or like musicals & plays in general
Omg on 2000s body image - I continue to be scarred by a magazine article titled “Mary-Kate Olsen at 87 pounds” and I was like omg why I am bigger than someone older than me??? I think about that a lot still like 20 years later
Have y'all seen Defunctland's Disney Channel Theme video? If not, RUN don't walk! The last 15 minutes make it SO WORTH IT.
where is Brink or Rip Girls not on this list?!?! those where my favorite two dcoms!
i was waiting for Brink!!
Heres a few more - You wish! Starstruck, Step sister from plante weird, Harriet the spy, 16 wishes, Geek charming
Zennon (no idea if that’s how you spell it) still slaps! I just watched it (and motorcrossed) with my son and we’re obsessed all over again!
I gasped and then groaned when you said Cadet Kelly verses Cowgirls!
Princess Diaries - I love but was released to theaters so I’m not sure if it should have been on this bracket 😬😬
Definitely shouldn’t have been!
Cloud 9 has always been my favorite DCOM, I have absolutely no clue why it had such a big impact on me but I literally watched it last year as a college student and still thoroughly enjoyed it
Omg the disrespect for Luck of The Irish! I was in love with the main character of that and the one from Thirteenth Year. I like a mythological transformation!
Susan Egan is not only Heather Bartlett and Broadway Belle, she’s also the voice of Megara in Hercules!
Also, for my favorite DCOMs you missed: Motocrossed, Brink, Double Teamed, Quints. I would have also been interested to see you rank The Wizards of Waverly Place Movie, Lemonade Mouth, and Pixel Perfect
I was living for this whole episode!! Y’all get me!!
y’all singing Take Me Away omg i NEED us to be bffs
I know you guys said you don’t need a CSI musical but I highly recommend the show Psych and their musical episode it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever seen 😂
Psych is top tier. Lassiter singing is incredible
Suite life started in 2005 and Wendy Wu was in 2006.
Get a Clue was in 2002
I’m glad to find people who love Princess Diaries as much as I do ❤
You need to rewatch princess protection program because they dont swap lives!!!
True, Selena tries to take her place to save her at Prom, but her dad gets there just in time.
The way Raise Your Voice just brought back so many memories…. 😅 one of my favorite movies
descendants, i was waiting for descendants and was so sad when it didnt show up! pls do a part 2 with like descendants, the ultimate christmas present, motocrossed, quints, (im just now realizing how many dcoms there actually is lol), pixel perfect, the kim possible movie (not the live action one), minutemen, dadnapped, hatching pete, wizards movie, starstruck, zombies, the suite life movie, lemonademouth, let it shine, teen beach movie, etc.
Motorcrossed!!!
Step sister from planet weird!
16 wishes and Starstruck are two of my faves I was waiting for 😩😩
Omg yes Starstruck!!!
this made me want to rewatch dcoms this weekend
I love that I closed my eyes at the end and yelled High School Musical as well.....thats how I knew I am listening to the right podcast
Alice Greczyn from Sleepover, Make It or Break It, etc. I recently read her book about deconstructing her childhood in what she describes as a cult. She's so iconic.
Literally makes me want to re watch all these movies!
I love you three but Hocus Pocus all the wayyyy 🧹
Your voices together, when you say clips of certain Disney songs, all I kept thinking was, I would love for them to sing a full song together. Maybe that song from Hairspray. I know its a personal choice and you need to be comfortable but wow. Voices of angels. Beautiful.
Where are they now: the mom from suite life of zack and Cody
Two I loved that weren’t included are Wish Upon a Star (with a young Katherine Heigl) and Don’t Look Under the Bed which I think is vastly underrated and forgotten but incredible.
Read the last Princess Diary book in the series. Brilliant. She finally breaks down under the stress and the book focuses on her regaining her mental health.
I haven’t read these, now I have to!!
Jump In is SO GOOD, I can’t stand this disrespect! Lol
I feel like HSM makes sense because Princess Diaries is so good and iconic that it doesn't even count as a DCOM! It's in it's own category!
Begging for pt 2 with the Descendants movies, lemonade mouth, teen beach movie!!! (Even though if HSM2 is included, it'd win lol)
For me princess diaries I watched almost every month... any all-nighter during college. For sure. I'm so much older though, I'm 33 and high-school musical would've been below freaky Friday for me. (Sorry I'm old) love all of this, love the podcast!
I agree with you! My top 2 would have been Princess diaries and freaky Friday! And I don’t know if I could choose a favorite between those😭 i watch both of those now and they hold up so well
I’m 29 and 100% agree!!
It was a crime to have to choose between Parent Trap and Freaky Friday!! I was totally giving my own input as you guys were talking, this bracket was fantastic 😆
Nostalgia fest 2023! I’m so happy I love this podcast. I’d give one of my limbs to keep this podcast going for forever lmaoo!
outhale the zindon…. 😅
You are an icon! 😄
WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE 😍
Whenever someone starts talking about movie directors, I always say my favorite is Kenny Ortega. Only the elite will understand.
My daughter actually really enjoyed this movie (Zombies), mostly the music, and ironically when we first watched this movie together, we both said the same thing that you guys said about the character Bucky, that he was killing it with his stunts. It was obvious that he was fully prepared for that cheer role.
Ugh. Tru confessions... ugh.. my heart.
The fact that now you see it.. wasn't mentioned 😭 love that movie
Kinda off topic, but I would love for you guys to watch the later 2000’s movies like zapped, how to build a better boy, Radio Rebel, lemonade mouth, cloud 9 and bad hair day!
Tru Confessions was seriously so good! I think you guys should watch it!
Agreed !
Very emotional especially if you have a family member with special needs.
Y'alls Zillenial is showing so hard in this 😅 it's wild how being only 3 years older than you change so many of my answers from your decisions.
Agree that HSM had to be at the top, actually so iconic. But I might be biased, I had not 1 but 2 HSM themed birthday parties growing up 🤣
not when jess said proud family and even stephens ':) sweating
edit: paloma reacting like steven lawrence built like a BAKED BEANS
This video taught me that many DCOMs have the same plot.
I agreed with so many of your ladies choices including the final choice LOL love you guys🥰
Freaky Friday vs The Parent Trap feels like a crime 😂😭 those are my two favorite movies and I just refuse to pick one!
I would LOOOVVVVEEEEE to see you guys do all original animated movies next time! That would be amazing
I love my fun little day off when I get to listen to my fun little podcast 🤪
Love this episode of the pod. My ranking of your top 8:
1. Cheetah Girls 2 (wins hands down for Strut alone 💅)
2. HSM (Iconic, but 2nd one is better. I had an HSM Backpack w/ no shame)
3. Freaky Friday (Love Lindsey. And Jamie Lee, you are all of us!)
4. Princess Diaries (Anne Hathaway is a gem)
5. Gotta Kick it up (Si Se Puede!)
6. Cadet Kelly (The dance-off scene)
7. Smart House ( C'est la Vie by B*Witched is stuck in my head)
8. Read it and Weep (Cute but forgettable)
Just hopped in, love the top Riayn!
Y'all are so close to 50k!
princess diaries watch party !!!!! i will literally buy tickets to this.
I’d die!
I think the reason that picking the winners was “easier” in the second round was because the first round had number one seed movies pitted against each other (Parent Trap and Freaky Friday) and 16 seed movies pitted against each other (Luck of the Irish and Johnny Tsunami). When you do this, the lower-tier movies get through to the next round while some top-tier movies who deserve to continue on get eliminated early. So when you have a top-tier and a low-tier going head to head, it’s a way easier decision. Still loved the nostalgia this brought me. Fun episode!
I totally agree with the end result. HSM is my personality
Ahhhh so excited❤️
I am devastated. I watch Luck of the Irish every St. Patrick's day! And will watch in between.
Also The Color of Friendship not on the list?? It's one of my favorite movies in general. Same with Full Court Miracle.
Ooo! This is gonna be good 🤩
Where are they now: Beans from even Stevens
Listen to the even Stevens rewatch podcast. It's called even more stevens.
I was today years old when I learned princess diaries, freaky Friday, and parent trap we’re DCOMs 😂😂
Princess diaries has to win in my book. Also “the devil wears Prada”. But I figured “HSM” was gonna win. 😊
Don’t forget the episode reminder to have white claw sponsor the podcast.
I loved Cadet Kelly so much! I watched it too many times.. princess diaries and HSM… I’d choose HSM as well bc I watched it more!
Did anyone read the “princess guide” book that accompanied the princess diaries books? Iconic
All I will say.... The cheetah girls walked so HSM could run 😤
Yeah Halloweentown is iconic but I can’t believe how fast you skipped over Hocus Pocus! 😅
A visual of the tiers would’ve been perfect for each round
Princess Diaries is absolutely my favorite movie. Named my kitten Mia after Princess Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi. THIS WAS HARD STILL
GIRLS!! i’m crying rn at the camp rock slander😭😭😭 love you all but damn that one hurt as an absolute camp rock, demi and jonas brothers girly. also rip princess protection program!! princess diaries in my opinion is not a dcom so that one was totally unfair🤣 both movies are legendary but ppp was one of the best dcoms like demi and selena together was amazing
Absolutely love the podcast💙 y’all forgot Avalon High that was a good DCOM
Don't you dare to be negative about the Lizzie McGuire Movie!! It brought me so much happiness as a teenager, it's probably the movie I've seen the most. Even though now I'm older I choose to watch Dirty Dancing or The Titanic over and over!!
Let it Shine needs some love please watch it it's so good
I wanted to argue with you ladies that princess diaries was obviously #1, then I realized my cousin is named Gabriella BECAUSE OF HSM… so there’s that. 😂😂😂💕
Although, idk that I would have had HSM in my top two… the way that freaky Friday was one of the only things me and my brother could agree to watch as kids… idk man, idk. Lol!!
1. Freaky Friday
2. High School Musical
3. The Princess Diaries
Out of the top 8, I can narrow it down to 3 for me. These are ones I’ve seen and would rewatch, which is the tell of a good movie! I do that for books, shows, and movies…if I’d return to it, it’s special!
Can yall do what you did with twilight and do a watch and react to all three High School Musicals? That would be iconic 😂
Idk when this was filmed, but when yall were talking about Freaky Friday, you missed the opportunity to say, "Jamie Lee, you are ALL OF US!" 🤣
Wow, really couldn't relate with you guys choosing HSM...But you are theater girls. Broke my heart choosing it over Princess diaries though!!
Zenon-is Kirsten Storms. I'm pretty sure she is still playing a character on GH-General hospital a soap opera. I was an All My Children personally. A lot of these movies I don't recognize. I didn't run out to watch all the new films. And I'm a tad older than your ages, I mean I didn't even get into Cheetah Girls.
Best episode so far!!
Yall my people. I love DCOMs!!
HOW DO YOU NOT PICK PRINCESS DIARIES. IM UPSET 😂😩 I guess I will still tune in next episode… but I will be very upset 😂❤️ (all love)
I loveeee jump in!!!
