Finally, someone who addresses this. As soon as I notice my breathing it brings on a feeling of air hunger and an inability to get enough air in, even though I'm getting enough oxygen. Also, I'm aware that when my breathing is ignored, it goes right back to breathing fine, otherwise I wouldn't be alive!
Me too.
So wonderful you are aware of that conclusion - really - it is important to remember that our bodies know how to breathe! I wonder if the tips in this video will help? Wishing you the best!
I've never heard anyone talk about this I seriously thought I was the only one with this issue. Thank you.
You are so welcome. It breaks my heart when people feel so isolated with these issues! I truly hope this is helpful!
thank you sigourney weaver
Finally. Someone talked about this. Wtf. I felt crazy all these years.
So sorry to hear that - as I said above, it breaks my heart when people feel so isolated with these issues! I truly hope this is helpful!
My therapist tried to teach me breathing techniques. I wanted to modify them to something more comfortable for me (not holding it and exhale through my nose rather than through my mouth) but she didn't seem open to it. We just dropped the breathing exercises. I think slowing it down is enough to help me, but following specific instructions is not. And of course, trying stuff that doesn't work makes me feel more broken. It's tough. I appreciate you addressing this!
Yep this is an issue with meditation as well. I do much better with the guided meditations. I love yoga nidra but so many of them focus on the breath which doesn't work for me.
I have a problem with not breathing and having to remember to breathe when talking.
