I bought these two months ago. Had ping g10 previously for the past dozen or so years. These were a huge upgrade. Honestly could not be more pleased. Very soft feeling and for myself very workable shot shaping.
“MIM MY TECH”
Cobra is quite underrated, I play the F8 and they outperformed many other brands in fitting. Thanks Mark!
Tried these and love them!! Great video!!!!
Gorgeous irons, cobra have released some of the best woods in last 5 years looks like they are raising the bar with their irons too 👍
I just got fitted yesterday thanks for the video I love these
I had cobra irons for years and only recently changed to Ap2’s really like the look of these though. I could be tempted to go back.
I keep coming back to Cobra Irons, playing Tec Black's now and absolutely love the feel and design. Also have F9 driver and fairway woods.
I’m playing TEC Black right now and I think I’d like a softer cavity back. MIM seems to be the natural next step …
“MIM my tech” They are beautiful and totally agree Cobra is underrated! Next season is hopefully time for new irons finally! They’re on the list 👍🏻
Defo would love a review of the Wilson D7 Forged. There’s almost no reviews and they are just as nice.
And so are the new Staff Model CBs. Look stunning.
"MIM MY TECH" I´m about to fit new irons for me this winter. Tour irons will definitely be one to watch for.
Really enjoyed this review.
I have the Forged Tec and love them
Great review as usual. They look a bit different from the back, but not in a bad way. Normally I’d be put off with a ‘KING’ like that, but seems to suit these well, I think all the manufacturers make superb clubs these days. All golf clubs are brilliant. Which is good news for the consumer.
Tried the 7i off the mat, but I loved it. Will definitely put in the mix for new irons this year!
Absolutely. Play a full bag of Cobra....all 3 woods (D, 3w, 5w), hybrid, King Cobra LTD 5-6CB, 7-G MB. Love the feel and wouldn't trade them for the world! Not to mention, one of the best customer experiences ever. Had a problem with one of my clubs -- and they spared no effort to ensure it was resolved! I'm a lifer!
MIM MY TECH..I am just getting back into the game like many others after a long lay off..These King Cobra are on the top of my list to treat myself!..They look great!
Certainly one of the most underrated products around and only recent years people have started to notice them.
I've only just changed my driver which was a Biocell had that from 2012....changed to the new speedzone driver.
Love Cobra. I'm pretty sure they were the first to put in arcoss. They've always made great drivers. I hit the blades for a while in 2013 or 14.
Yes very underrated. I've played Cobra off and on for years. Currently playing Srixon but that might change because of these.
MIM my tech . Love Sirixon . Just got my fitted combo set of ZX 5/7 . Feel amazing and great control and distance
MIM MY TECH. I just got the King UT 3 iron in the bag and I love it. So soft out of the middel🏌️
Currently playing the F8s, i do like the look of these and would certainly have them in a fitting to try
I definitely think Cobra are underrated. My current irons are Cobra Fly-z + and before I tried them at a demo day I hadn’t considered ever gaming them. I guess I had low expectations before trying them but was blown away at the feel and performance of them.
I just tried these for two weeks. I have to say they’re very solid feeling yet soft. I hit the long irons better then any I’ve hit in a long time. They have easy distance with solid spin to hold greens. I honestly think I’ll purchase my first cobra product.
Took a leap of faith purchasing these blindly, glad to say i carry the same opinions as you with these irons. taking my 5 iron well beyond what i thought i could and stopping balls on greens with ease. 10/10.
Same!! I picked up a set and my king irons are my favorite now!
My cup of tea, great review 👏🏻😊
I think Cobra has been killing it with drivers and fairway woods for a few years. But I've never liked the feel of their irons. I can't wait to give this a try.
Has a AP2 look......defo would be a option for a combo set....again great review Mark.....
They do look very nice I would not go beyond a six iron but will look at these when I decide to change my irons
You’re making those Cobras look very good Mark, I think I would like to game the 7 to pw. In the market for new irons.
I'm looking forward to trying these.
i think srixon is the most underrated brand, atleast in the USA. Their game improvment clubs even look great at address.
I just got the z585’s this year and they’re spectacular.
Agreed. Having played almost everything in the iron arena, Srixon 785's are my favs and I've owned several different Miura sets.
Cobra are so good when it comes to innovation. I have read up on MIM and it makes so much sense to me. I have not as yet tried this iron myself but believe Mark when he states that the feel is great. MIM type casting gives an exacting consistency with every head and it's on a par if not better than a forged product. I think Cobra are definitely on to something here and it won't surprise me to see their irons being played by many on tour. As for the comments here on Rick Shields, it is down to personal opinion but I do think Rick does show bias unlike Mark who just says it as it is and sometimes that does him no good with certain manufacturers but it is what we need as golfers. HONESTY and INTEGRITY.
Loving the review again Mark. Like to see it compared against mizuno jpx 921 forged and the new srixons. They are on my radar for a fitting in new year. Waiting until done off season fit for golf training first...
Just ordered 5 - G plus 56 and 60 in cobra wedges. This is replacing my F8 love the look at address and the feel. Keeping my old F8 one length 4 and 3. Looking forward to seeing the new RAD stuff coming :)
Mim My Tech ....these look a very solid set of irons ...still love my Cobra Amps feel great when you hit them cleanly ....these are on my radar
Cobra definitely one of the most underrated golf club manufacturers in the biz today. Woods have been great last few years, and I love their long iron utility clubs they’ve had out the last few years.
Love the look, can’t wait to hit them& would like to see a comparison 921 fordged
Running a full set of Cobra from driver to gw, love the brand and quality of products. After the success of the F9 driver last year they could of upped prices but didn’t . Just wish I was good enough to put these in the bag
I loved cobra back in the day, but mostly driven by Greg Norman loved the tour irons they did. So yes very underrated irons. I have mizuno mp5 and wished I brought cobra. Also i had Cleveland cg red and they felt great. Forged or not not many can tell the difference.
I have three nice set of irons, but the ones that are usually in the bag are Cobra Fly Z irons, I do switch them in and out but the Cobra irons maintain the number one position. They still feel great and I still get out of them what I want.
I play Cobra driver, woods and hybrids love them and my wife loves her F Max irons
Agreed Cobra is super underrated. I just got a set of Cobra cb/mb combos and they're the cleanest, least offset irons I've seen in years. They feel great and have helped greatly reduce my normal right side (I'm lefty) miss. As a club builder, I was a little disappointed in the inconsistency of the head weights - not like Titleist or Mizuno tolerances. But I can overlook that since they look and feel so damn good.
Fantastic review.. am looking to replace my old cobras... cheers mate
love to see lockey hit them, beautiful looking irons
Had a fitting this morning and tested callaway, srixon, mizuno and cobra. COBRA came out on top by some margin. i was playing the cobra amp cell for 8 years so maybe thats why the very slightly longer head didnt put me off. its not that much longer at all. these clubs feel and sound so soo good. out of about 50 hits i hit 3 or 4 heely and toey yet they only went a few yards off the good ones. which were gooood. seriously stunning irons. im not sure if i can wait the 4 to 6 weeks for them to be made. great vid btw you muppett
These things look and feel amazing!
Mim tech...... Very nice irons, on my list to try this winter along with p770 and t100 👍
Not looking to replace my 919 Forged just yet. But if I was, I would definitely take a look at these.
Good video. Mark can show us what your doing to your grip to lower your flight.
In 2006 the King Cobra Forged CB was introduced and it felt super. Ofcourse it came with Sensicore shafts for a little help in the feel department. But that is no different than putting dampening materials in the head to alter the sound and feel of the irons. I like a pure forged head myself, but so many companies now are going with polymers and such for feel.
"MIM MY TECH" .... Interesting review, I've only ever played Cobra drivers. BTW I think recently that Wilson staff F irons are the most underrated clubs
“MIM MY TECH” they look great. Seems like Cobra hit a home run with these. I would say cobra is one of the most underrated. But maybe Wilson or Srixon takes the torch on this. Great video thank you.
IMO, these are the types of clubs that everyone should play. A blade looking type club with a sole width that makes turf interaction easier - and then also help on face stability with some Tungsten once you hit a 7 iron. Play the appropriately weighted shaft to help you with a repeatable swing given your strength and then figure out if you have a fast enough swing speed to play the 6/5/4 irons. These are basically a larger Titleist TS100, Combo Srixon 585/785, Mizuno MMC - which are all great clubs. Hopefully, they can be ordered with different shafts.
So funny Rick Shiels just released a review saying they weren't soft. Interesting to see the contrast between reviews. Good video. Good review, MC.
Rick is always saying forged this forged that. I think the fact they aren't forged played tricks on his mind and he felt a firmer feel that wasn't really there.
Every other reviews says they feel great. I think expectations set the stage sometimes in Rick’s reviews. He was hitting great shot after great shot and I think his head was set that he was losing out on feel since they weren’t forged. Personal hunch only based on no objective data just observations from other reviews.
Shields has jumped on marks back for years and his side kick. Stopped watching them donkeys ago
golf in a nutshell right
Completely agree that Cobra is underrated
i have the tour forged amazing feel and feedback, awesome clubs every bit as good as the tms and Callaway
brilliant review
Yes Mark, they look great.
I'm a Cobra lover, haven't played the irons. If it gives you confidence your game will be more enjoyable.
I would love to have a set of those irons.
“MIM MY TECH” nice looking clubs!👍⛳️
"MY MIM TECH" big fan of these clubs gaming their wedges now. Could see myself adding these to replace my FlyZ+/Pro combos.
MIM MY TECH - I’m really loving Cobra. I ended up getting fit for Cobra irons, hybrid, wood, and driver recently and I strongly feel they are excellent clubs for anybody. Underrated yes, but not the most underrated in the US. Cobra is gaining a lot more attention, this year especially. I would say Srixon, I wasn’t even able to try them in my fitting even though I wanted to above all the top 3. Cheers
Really want to try these and am in the market for a new set of irons after getting down to 10, I thought I’d reward myself. Currently play Cobra King F7 so have been a fan of the brand, but am definitely intrigued by testing different sets at the top and bottom of the range. Also Arccos inserts is a big tick for me.
Thanks for the review Mark! How do they compare to the Cobra king forged tour? I’m gaming them at the moment and when i saw these I just feel like i need to get them. Love Cobra, i compared the forged tour to the titleist ap2 during my fit and chose the Cobra booth on looks and i liked the bladelenght on them becasue i came from a game improvememt iron.
“MIM my Tech” tomorrow I will try them , they look beautiful
MIM MY TECH massive Greg Norman fan would love these in the bag !!
Great vid Bruh. I play mizuno mx300 because I watched your review back in the day. Can you review em? Be good to see how your perceptions have changed, if any. The really are "buttery soft"
MIM MY TECH.....Looking for New irons soon so will defo look at Cobra
MIM my tech... on my list to try
out on the course certainly sounds unlike anything else you've tested, much quieter
“MIM MY TECH” Definitely thought you could beat the tour average. The clubs look great and I am consistently looking to find my next irons. Probably won’t for another year or so but these just made the list for a test. Cobra has been standing out and I am gaming an F6 driver right now that I love. It will be hard for me not to upgrade their driver to a new cobra and of these irons give me the same feeling as the driver I might fill the bag with cobra
mim my tech - would try these stunning clubs
MIM my Tech. Would seriously consider buying the 7-PW to mix with my forged tech long irons.
Definitely worth a try they look beautiful irons could I ask the cost of 5- PW?
Good honest review exactly what I’d expect from you Mark👍
I'd try them, no worries. My wife's gear is all Cobra and its great kit, and not overpriced like some manufacturers. If I wasn't a Callaway tart I'd no doubt be playing with Cobra clubs I reckon.
MIM MY TECH. Fun to watch. Cannot wait to see if their next driver is 3D printed :)
“MIM MY TECH”
I game the Cobra F8’s and got fit for them a couple of seasons ago. I’ve used the Arccos system since I got them as that was one of the things that sold them for me and have a lot of stats to work off. Sometimes the feel of the F8 can be a little mixed and these new ones do look lovely. Not sure with my speeds they’d be for me though. It’s depressing when you talk about pushing a 7 iron to 170 when I’m hoping to push it to 150 😂. Still......dropped three shots this “limited” season so something must be working!
Keep up with the good vlogs sir.
‘MIM MY TECH’ going to be at least 6 weeks before I can even see these as golf is on full lockdown from tomorrow here in Ireland!
Hi Mark. I'd say Wilson are also underrated- love the D7 Forged
Definitely! I've got the v6 fg tours and I love them. Tested them against mizuno, taylormade, ping etc and they were miles ahead for me!
Still got my Di9 set in the bag. Nothing I test is that much better to justify the cost of replacing them.
I'm using 30 year old clubs that I can compare with the new.. My old bazooka hybrid irons still beat these new clubs. Why waste $1000 on something that really won't change your game. Bring in your old irons and test them with the new hardly any difference
Wilson Staff V6 are up there in the discussions for GOAT players cavity back. I'll never part with my set. Never. Adams CMB (2012) is in there to for all time greats.
When I got fit for my irons I tested Cobra Forged Tec and Srixon 765 (which were the ones I was initially interested in) among others and it was so close between them performance-wise. In the end it came down to looks so I went with the Srixons but it was almost a flip of the coin. Both very underrated at the time but arguably Srixon have overtaken Cobra in terms of how their irons are generally perceived, despite Cobra consistently releasing great clubs. I think they're was good as anything out there, especially in the 'players' category.
Still playing the AMP forged irons years later. They appear similar to these new offerings. Maybe time for an upgrade!
Yes
They do look really nice!
"MIM my tech" I just got a cobra SZ driver, and wow... I was impressed from the first strike. any word whether these MIM tour irons are going to be available in one length?
Not at this point according to Cobra Australia. I asked this question on their Instagram post.
Would like you try the Cobra Fly XL Mark would be intruiged to see you review on them for players with slower swing speeds
I have always used Cobra golf equipment.
Very underrated but a lot of that has to do with their history. Years ago, when they were bought by the Acushnet Company (Titleist), they were marketed as the Game Improvement or Mid-Handicap clubs and the Titleist clubs were marketed for "Players". It allowed Acushnet to dive into that part of the market without sacrificing the Titleist "Player" branding they always used years ago. When Cobra split off, they have done some great things, but are kind of stuck with that old marketing persona. Acushnet made Pinnacle golf balls as well, and if you tried to make a Pinnacle "premium" ball as good as the ProV1, you simply couldn't overcome that Pinnacle persona, regardless of how good they could make a ball. That is what Cobra fights now.
Very good comment, totally agree.
Cobra tour forged irons were some of my best irons, only pipped by titleist 716 CBS.
So refreshing to hear Mark say anyone could game the shorter irons (7 down) and that he would happily give them his daughter to play as long as you are sensible with blending to more forgiving types in the longer irons.
I’m sick to death of being excluded from certain irons in reviews / forums because I’m not deemed good enough to play them as a mid handicapper.
It’s like going into a car showroom and wanting to buy a Ferrari but told you can’t because your not a ‘good enough driver’ to drive it.
Rubbish, play what you want if you enjoy it, as long as it’s an informed choice.
First set of cobra irons I have ever wanted. Woods yes, but never irons before these.
also, I *like* the longer blade length!
mim my tech - am currently going through process of trying out clubs but haven't seen/hit those - currently am swaying towards the Mavrik/Mavrik pro
Mark, I think Cobra have always 'shouted' but only with their branding on their clubs - it's always big and bold. But you are right, they don't seem to spend a lot on advertising, publicity and certainly not on sponsorships, which is probably why they are so 'underrated'. I don't why, but I've always had a bit of a 'thing' for their clubs and am currently gaming my old Zero Limits driver (while I await a replacement shaft for my Ping G410 that recently snapped in half) and, after 30+ yrs, am still gaming my favourite wedge - a Shark (Cobra) Greg Norman signature 61 degree lob wedge.
These new irons don't look dissimilar to my current TM PSi Tour irons. They even seem to be a similar blade length. I've been considering the new TM P7MC so would I'd definitely give these a go. Thanks for the great review.
MIM my tech. Nice looking clubs.
Cobra are totally undervalued... I have used some of their clubs in the past and would again in the future.
Cobra IS DEFINETLY the most underrated manufacturer. I play the King forged tour irons, and I'm not changing them.
Going to wait for the one length version then look at 6i and down
MIM My Tech, good review Mark
Mim my tech. Great looking clubs
Cobra is awesome, very underrated. I think it’s because they don’t have loads of tour pros sponsored
