I started out in post acute care. Its hard but I like it because it's a little hospital. We work with vents and trachs, we do bladder scans at bedside, start ivs, give blood products, bronchoscopy, etc.
My first week, I thought that i was going to quit, that's how hard it was. But after being here for abt 6 weeks now, and on my own, BY CHOICE after 3 weeks of training, I really love this stressful job.
    I graduated 8/3/23 and took nclex 8/11/23 (i didn't study) and started working as a nurse 9/12/13.
Good luck to everyone who is in pursuant of this career.

First of all. Make sure you HAVE ALLLLLLL your eggs in row. Meaning nurses do something a few times before calling a doctor. Never call them with looking for something, not reassessing your patients after you did a intervention. Makes you look dumb. Always recommend when you request something that is within your scope

Good video I passed my boards and got a job but it’s part time 8 hr shifts 😑😑 I have another job offer it’s full time but it’s 12hrs I have a young child whose almost 10 and 3 older kids that could help me with her getting ready for school… I don’t know what to do I want the 12 but I know it’ll be challenging. The pay is 32 (12hr) compared to 29… I’m just nervous about it 😬… classmates saying go with the pay 💰 and others say stick with the first job then go to another once comfortable…. I dont know 😓😅
