Fucking Rev man, what a legend, it’s so crazy to think that he came and went so quick, but left such a legacy, me being 28 years old now puts it into perspective. He was ahead of his time in style, music & more. Crazy to think he never even experienced the 2010s He will forever be Young & Free at 28 years old. Of course we miss him, but I truly believe some people just have life in a form of a short intense burst and that’s just what was their destiny.
I thought he was 27. I know he died same day as Dio tho, and that tore me up so bad it took more than a decade for me to even get into A7x even though i was always able to appreciate Nightmare
Matt is so genuine when he really goes into talking about jimmy his eyes lit up he literally is smiling with his eyes ... iykyk matt he's being 100 I'm glad they kept Jimmy's memory alive and well he continues to be the 💙 of the band
A friend of mine at the time of the self-titled album got us tickets to the show they recorded the Live in LBC DVD and it turned out I couldnt go because my dad had booked us a trip to hawaii to visit universities because I was going to transfer at the time and he couldnt rebook it soo she had to sell the tickets. I will regret that for the rest of my life.
Dude, seriously! There are some that I like, such as Dave Abbruzzese (Pearl Jam), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden) or Tim Alexander (Primus), or anyone else ya know? None of them even come close to The Reverend Tholomew Plague.
Imagine being one of the Rev's bandmates and getting to experience the Rev firsthand. Those guys were blessed. And they all blessed us with timeless music
Reminds me of the time I went to recording studio for the first time and the engineer asked what bpm our songs were and I deadass asked him what a bpm was

He was a genius musician. A candle that burns hundred times faster than the rest. He made me a drummer and I will never forget that. It helped me channel my rage and pain in a very positive way early on. Things would've been much worse if it weren't for A7X and particularly Jimmy. A spoonful of Jimmy really did save my world. Miss you foREVer buddy.
Rare to see Bad Religion get recognition but in this case it makes sense. They basically founded Epitaph. Can't wait to see A7X in September from Utah.
@trolling bigot Unfortunately, nowhere I've lived. The biggest venue they've been at where I live currently was a huge venue called Usana, but I think they were just openers for Rise Against. However, I did see a chick wearing some merch at an EDM concert which was great to see.
Makes me happy to see them showing this album in a nicer light now. For many years, they voiced their distaste for it. And it is a product of its time, but without it, we wouldn’t have the A7X we know and love today
That's just cus it's Jimmy!!! Lol!!! Like Babe Ruth calling his shot, The Rev is the best from BEGINNING TO END!!! There will be no one like him ever again!!! It's why HE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST!!!🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Even though Sounding The Seventh Trumpet really does sound like it was done in 1 take, that’s a lot of it’s charm. Everytime I listen to it, it kind of feels like I’m listening to a live performance without the noise from an audience. The REV was so talented and love watching old videos of them performing together.
In the world, may have another best drummer than him. But, the drummer with a such talent is Jimmy's itself. Singing, skill of Arrangement, Pianist, and of course his amazing skill of drumming. foREVer, we never forget you. 😭
I only saw them once and it was Warped Tour 2005 right when they went to a major label and blew up the following year. Man Warped Tour 2005 was incredible for the lineup of bands who exploded into popularity.
I like to think of Matt's vocals kind of like 3 seperate voices 2 are arguing (a nasally goblin and belting guy going insane) then the mixed voice melody narrarating them. 😂
I own STST and it’s by far my least played A7X album. That said, the musical talent of the band shines through in ways that still give me chills to this day. It was all right there, they were just playing the wrong sound at the time
The Rev was ONE OF A KIND. And it sucks because people that hated A7X didn’t truly understand the world class drummer they had in Rev, not to mention Syn on.. many things lol
I am always fascinated by people who can play something. I've always been interested in piano. Ever since I was a kid. I got into Evanescence, and Amy Lee has become a huge role model and inspiration in the past few years. I want to be like her more than anything. I think I'm okay at singing, but I do have some issues that come up with that ...but.... It honestly makes me feel so bad when seeing other people playing piano. I've wanted to play it since I was a child, but I never actually got to start until 7th grade. I'm 21, and I just recently, around age 20, started taking lessons off and on. It's a semester thing, and sometimes I can't get in a slot, and I miss the semester. I was taking some from an old church friend, but she seemed to get super impatient with me, and so I haven't seen her in a while. I still suck at it after all these years. Like... just how? I am literally going to d*e without ever doing what I want to do...

Music is beautiful enough on its own that my goal is to enjoy it even if I'm never anywhere near the level of people that play live or post covers on the internet.
