Idle is fine, maybe tune the Idle circuit a little it sounds to be loading up. Throw that holley in the trash and get a quadrajet would be my suggestion 😂😂
Love it. Great cam, I have basically the same motor with that cam sitting on a stand in my basement, just need something to put it in! Pulled it out of my 69 chevelle for a big block 15yrs ago. Only has 2000 miles. Ran a 13.90 quarter in that chevelle with a 2.41 rear axle at 115mph. Not bad.

I have a built 355 and a 5sp in my 99 S10 ext cab and it makes it skooot especially with the 410 rear gear and u're Tahoe would be Tonka tough with the same setup under the hood

Looks like your oil pressure is to high almost 80psi, but then again you hid the gauges so people could not see them clearly, why did you move the cramera so quickly and not show the "Readings" of the engine?
I run this cam in my 10.25-1 383 with 195 afr heads . the engine runs way smoother than the 350 and has excellent throttle response in the 383 . That's pretty cool you got it to 10.68-1 compression . I hear that's close to as high as you would want with a street cam . Your probably going to want to have a good cooling system and maybe even an oil cooler on that motor . I bet your engines are awesome

Sounds good. I had the XE274 in my car. It didn't make enough vacuum to run the power brakes. It was like driving around with manual brakes and it was friggin dangerous. I put an electric vacuum pump canister on my car. Then it was safe. I probably could have just bought one of those vacuum storage canisters and been ok,but usually you only get 2 or 3 good pumps of the brakes with those.

@@jjmccloud No offense, but, align boring has nothing to do with cam bearings. Align boring is strictly crankshaft alignment bore centerline. They grind the main caps roughly .005", then reinstall and torque the mains and then bore/ hone the crankshaft back to factory specs. All "regular" SB Chevys use a standard cam bearing regardless as to whether you are using hydraulic, solid or roller lifters. Just saying....

If you have the extra money I would personally go with the scorpion roller rockers I think there $280 And the compcams roller tip rockers are about $160. I would strongly recommend you stay away from the summit brand or PRW roller tips. They will flex and you will lose performance at about 4500 rpm all the way up to redline.
A set of flow masters is going to give you this sound with the proper idle.Remember this sound is very desirable when your hot rod pulls up to A function.Haha

Dont need to lock it out. Disconnect your vac line when checking timing. You need more initial timing in the distributor meaning different springs, bushings etc. If you leave the guts stock no amount of total timing will make it run right.
Nathan Krapf For a cam that size probably in the plus .100 usually what you'll tend too see. Valve spring installed height is what really causes the need for the geometry correction but lift does play a small amount. With a cam this small take a stock length set of pushrods break the cam in ( don't hot rod it) pull the valve covers and color in the tip of an exhaust and intake valve stem. Spin the engine over 2-3 times if the wear mark is towards the intake it's to short if towards the exhaust it's to long. Needs to be centered and small

Don't know if you found your problem but your carburetor is either way lean or your timing is too far down would start with timing

My camaro has a 2,200 stall converter would this cam (280h magnum) work good with it, or would I need a larger converter.
It would work with it, I'd bet you see more of its ability with something closer or at 3000 stall but it should be fine with the 2200 stall

Stall mainly. You really don't need that large of lift cam for stock engine and daily driving. Will need to be retuned if keeping fuel injection.

No I wouldn't go anymore then a 280h.... If you wanted to try a 292h it would be extremely dogish below 2500 rpm. I would NOT put a 305 h in it .
