Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by
reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated
central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all
the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per
minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned
too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and
gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on....
So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They
even created a new kind of crime here, called "Abgasbespaßung". :-(((

Actually, I'm pretty sure those engine had roller cams, so you need to be looking on this page www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=CC&Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=SBCNEW. .480 roller cam would actually be a nice choice for stock engine.Your budget will decide what options are available. Depending on the mileage of your engine, you might be better off buying a crate engine or doing a ls swap. That intake/injection system isn't exactly meant to make big power.Low budget - increase flow: clean high flow air filter, headers, good flowing exhaust (doesn't have to be loud).Mid budget - 2.02 valves installed in heads with port and polish job, camshaft www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=186&sb=2 would be a nice choice with head job and wouldn't require a large stall. Transmission build will come soon after. Retune ecu.High budget - LS swap engine and transmission. Many options for making everything work in your truck. High budget - crate engine 383 - have you transmission built with small stall. Change to a different type of fuel injection.I would honestly be looking for a 99+ truck if you are wanting to hot rod it some. The 5.3 is a great engine and lots of potential.

Patrick Benjamin that’s a big cam for a 327, it has a short stroke so I’d go with a 270h

@@jamespepper2541 I used the Isky 280 mega cam, way better. Youre gonna want a 4.11 gear, stick or 2800-3000 stall minimum. More intial timing in the dist . 600 double pumper no bigger than 650

What gap did you set on your spark plugs. What spark plugs did you use.
What did you set your total timing at. I'm still struggling on setting the total timing with the vaccum advance.
I dont want to lock it out

    • @gordocarbo
      @gordocarbo Місяць тому

Dont need to lock it out. Disconnect your vac line when checking timing.
You need more initial timing in the distributor meaning different springs, bushings etc.
If you leave the guts stock no amount of total timing will make it run right.

      Nathan Krapf
For a cam that size probably in the plus .100 usually what you'll tend too see. Valve spring installed height is what really causes the need for the geometry correction but lift does play a small amount. With a cam this small take a stock length set of pushrods break the cam in ( don't hot rod it) pull the valve covers and color in the tip of an exhaust and intake valve stem. Spin the engine over 2-3 times if the wear mark is towards the intake it's to short if towards the exhaust it's to long. Needs to be centered and small
