Roller...rule
Is there much difference between the knock off "rpm" intake you have on and the edlebrock performer rpm one?
Great cam sound...choppy but smooth...
Hello how much do u charge me for a engine like this
Idle seems too high.
what year is the 390?
❤❤❤❤❤
Nice parts list 😊 i have the RPM intake on my 69 FE truck engine i listened to the web racers on jegs my stock heads will never flow the amnt of air that RPM intake is capable of .
8 inches of vacuum its gonna need a vacuum reservoir.
My 327 292 cam sounded a lot like that.😊
@ 1:21 cue up Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher"
Sure ain't no small block..
That’s what I call a growler!😀 LOVE IT
Thats what I call my morning dump.
Yup, good street cam in that engine. I've ran the same one and they make gobs of torque.
THis cam needs a vacuum reservoir and higher stall period. Every XE ft and HR I ran failed, went flat. Tried all their different lifters same thing. Never stood behind it just pointed fingers Went back to Isky and Crower, last 20 yrs 0 failures Never choose a cam by a YT video that is foolish.
I turned my idle down until it had to add more. Loved the loopy cam sound.
Didn’t even rev it…
Awesome! Built a 72 390 in a 4wd F-100 saved and saved from my 1st job at 15 when I turned 16 bought everything at united speed world, high energy cam and lifters blackjacks on glasspacks, super coil, looks like still the only intake is the performet, back then anyway topped it with holley 750 duel feed, Yours is BEAUTIFUL!
What balance in the flex plate ? And also harmonic balancer ?
Wow...some grown men trolling this guy wtf is that? Wife made you mop again?🙂 Op the cam you have is the XE not the old hi-energy cam 2 different grinds Both excellent for a heavy truck this thing will make great torque. Guys saying needs a big cam are wrong this time..Not every engine is a pro stocker Lope dont equal fast, anways. Nice build man.
Nice
Nasty! 😊😊
That sounds sick, and by sick i mean nasty mean. You did a great job building that beast. How is it doing now?
I need that in my 95 2 door Tahoe Z71
I have a built 355 and a 5sp in my 99 S10 ext cab and it makes it skooot especially with the 410 rear gear and u're Tahoe would be Tonka tough with the same setup under the hood
@@teresawallace747 I agree. A 5spd came factory in the Tahoe with a diesel, very rare to see a 350 with one. I'd love it tho. Maybe we can talk and you can tell me what you did...
What camshaft brand you perfer in your 302 motors
Hello i have a 1972 pontiac 400 engine on my 1967, will tgis cam fit? Whats the name of it pleeeease, love it!
Can you read? Its in the title in big letters. Dont choose a cam from its sound, never liked this series of cams nor how they ran.
This is the way.
Engine masters did a cam comparison of all the comp cams on a 383 sbc. I believe they tested the 262, 268, 274, 280 and 292. What was interesting was the fact that you seem to give up a lot more for the high end horsepower than what it was worth when compared to the 268. The average power was phenomenal with that camshaft. When I was younger, I have course bought the hottest hydraulic roller that they had at the time for my big block Corvette. I had the right rear end ratio to match the cam, and it was a four-speed with everything manual. So power anything wasn’t much of a problem. In hindsight, I would’ve went with a 268 because of where the car lived most of the time in its power band. Not saying that the 305 that I had in the car wasn’t awesome. I just believe that I would’ve driven it more. Great engine build. Good luck to you guys and your business.
THE 390 IS NOT A BIG BLOCK !!!!!
Dude its a big block Google it 😂
Ran this cam often. It hits even harder having LSA ground on 106 (standard grind is 110). 355 chevy with decent heads(something like AFR cnc'd 195's) this cam will support 500+hp all day(in flat tappet version no less)- we did use a 1.6 rocker ratio and static 11.5 compression.
this is new cam did you go through break in procedure for new cam
Yes
Sounds like it's a good running motor. Ive built a bunch of sbf but I wanna build a big next
Phenolic spacer...not phetolic....phenolic is a type of plastic that withstands heat
Ive run that 270 Magnum before in my 1/2 ton pickup and thought it was a fantastic single pattern piece , mine was chopper idling tho probably was that i had done a bunch of head work and more compression , BB chevy with headers don't need dual pattern a cam.
1 suggestion , attach a 1 in. angle outrigger about 1 ft. long to the backside of your dashboard , then secure all your wiring (inside a piece of loom) to it , that would tidy up the all the loose wiring
ITS NOT A FKING BIG BLOCK
Perfect
No PCV valve?
Gonna keep coming back to this video every time i think about swapping my 360 for a gen7 bbc
uh
I like a stock cam in one
Badass
Great motor! Wish i would have taken video of my 431 stroker! From start to finish, have it in pictures, didn't know about You Tube. May have to learn and share. Like your video Thanks PS it used to be an FE 390 they are one of my favorites!
Can you put a 428 CJ cobra jet crankshaft stamped as a 2U.... im upgrading a 360 to a 390
I'm building a similar setup for "My Ol' Lady" (She's an '81 Malibu SS 396 Z•16) on a 2-bolt main block with a Quick Fuel Technologies 750 CFM double-pumper with the same exact cam (I bought the complete Comp Cams kit/bundle from Summit) & I'm SERIOUSLY contemplating between those same exact heads (the '73-'74 castings) or a pair of "budget minded" aluminum heads. Approximately what type of horsepower & torque did you make? This is just her motor for NOW until I have a chance (& space) to give her a nut-&-bolt full-on frame up beautification with a 10.75:1, 700-ish HP, pump gas/93-octane, factory fresh/stock appearing (except for the headers) carbureted "396"🤫
ill tow it backwards at 200 kph😂
what order ignition have?. I problems with that.
Pa-Tae-Toe.
uhm uhm uhm
Is there a parts list for this build? It looks/sounds great and if it’s intended for a truck it’s about the motor I need for mine
