I'm back to make another comment because there is a design flaw with this helmet. Soon after first wearing it, I discovered a rub mark on the visor right at the line of vision. I thought at the time it was from me posting the helmet on my mirror. Since then, I've discovered the rub is on the outside of the visor and is caused by the peak. When the visor is up it will rub against the underside of the peak, especially if you sometimes ride with it up (such as when wearing goggles). So I've bought a new visor (couldn't rub the blemish clear) and have added some insulating weather-stripping foam to the underside of the peak to avoid this in the future. I thought your viewers might like to know.
I have gone thru a terrible crash with this helmet on and lived to tell the tale. Got myself exactly the same helmet the next day and have been using it for all my dual purpose touring for the last 2 years. It's not that great on road, but when you transition to of road...it brilliant 👍🏽. Its got fantastic ventilation especially when working off road.
I bought this helmet as a second option for my off-roading trips. Ended up selling it, because I couldn't stand the noise when commuting and street riding, even though I covered the side vents with electrical tape and I use earplugs all the time. I also found that the ventilation system doesn't work too well. I compared this one with my street helmet, and found out that I felt cooler with the street helmet (HJC IS-17). The visor was another issue. I couldn't see the speedometer as the lower part of the visor blurred my vision. It is a very light and good looking helmet. And as you said, it is a motocross helmet. Don't have any complaints when I used it off-road, and the googles fit perfectly and you can close the visor with them. I liked your review of the helmet. Right on the mark, and I like that you didn't do what any other review does (maybe paid advertising). keep them coming!
To reduce the overall loudness of the helmet (caused by some bad aerodynamics), just "close" the 2 vents on the cheeks (seen @6:35) with something in front of them, like foam or something. Actually, you can test the difference while riding : place both your index in front of those vents while riding >50km/h and you'll immediately notice the difference !
I have 2 of them (White and the blue like in your presentation) for the past 1 1/2 years now, it’s a really good helmet. I drove 8 to 12 hours on them for some trip and I have expensive helmets too like shoei or bmw helmet. I drive those 2 helmets on GS so I have a good windshield, those helmets are really good for off roads or street ride. I drove over 100 mph and they are not noisier than my expensive ones. The reason why I stick to LS2 is simple, I am 5’7” 140pds, they offer smaller SHELL size than competitors. With their helmets I don’t look like an astronaut or a lollipop 🍭. I which they could make a high end finish helmets with small size shell. (those come in 3 sizes shell). I highly recommend those helmets, I found them 1 1/2 years ago for $90 each... Couldn’t resist. They don’t feel and looks like budget helmets, good job LS2👍
I've been using it for 6 months as a commuter helmet in hot weather. Someday will replace with AT950 for the modular feature (twice the price). Some important negatives to get out of the way: * Limited shell sizes. Only two, splits at S/M (not M/L). M-XXL share cheekpads. * No space for speakers unless you cut EPS foam. Internal sun shield is important to me, and I've yet to see a helmet with one that goes low enough. I pull the helmet nose down and this fixes the problem, as well as gives me the biggest field of view (which is why I use a DS for everyday riding). Why it's so hard to get a longer shield is beyond me, but that's another dicussion. Some mentioned negatives don't seem to take into account the price (do look for a deal though). I'm surprised by the creakiness comment. Maybe I'm too use to cheap helmets. Are here other 100-150 helmets that do better in all these areas? Pay a little more to get more can be said for anything sub $350 I think. Everything in this price range sacrifices something major. This helmet's sacrifice is wind noise (if you don't like to wear earplugs) and no speaker pockets, as well as limited fit options. If you prioritise DS field of view with a sun shield and good ventilation at this price range (with color options and no compromise of safety that comes with ultra cheap helmets), I think this is the helmet.
This helmet is a great value for its money but does has a lot of limitations. It's very ventilated, safe (with quick removable cheek pads, relatively comfortable and looks really good. This is great for off road use and, in my opinion, daily city use as well during the summer time. If you plan on riding this in speeds higher than 60mph for long periods of time this is not the helmet to get, its loud and not very aerodynamic. This also does not have a hole for a comms system and you'd need to cut it yourself. Personally, I was gonna buy this helmet because I didn't wanna wear my Arai for daily city riding to the office and I was looking at something cheap and safe that I liked. I ended up going for the Oneal Sierra 2 instead but it was really between those 2. I can't stress enough how good this helmet looks in person, I sometimes regret not buying it because it looks that good.
I got this helmet as a budget second helmet specifically for off roading. I got it mainly for its shape. I'd say it's a long oval. My head is long oval and it's hard to find a helmet in this shape. (For comparison, my road/touring helmet is an Arai Signet-Q.) You're review is spot on with my experience. It's a good value but not a premium helmet. When my helmets expire I'll probably go for just one premium adventure helmet like the Arai XD-4.
Okay look:-) I had an electric bike accident. I fell really hard on my left ankle, shoulder and a left side of my head. After 2 weeks I cannot sleep on the leftbside of my body. I was wearing a cheapest probably chineese skateboard helmet( aka tony hawk pro skater- extreme games) this helmet got a crack from the inside after a head hit. Since then I bought body armor, and mx 436 pioneer helmet to protect my head. I ride electric bike every day. That's the only way I get to the work. I'm not sure if I would purchase mx 436 for a real motor bike, but for electric bike this is the best deal you can get. The main aspect is the speed. I crashed to the ground for about 30 kilometers per hour. It felt like im done. So you said it feels cheap, and medium:-)) Have you ever hit the asphalt in the chinese skateboard helmet!?:-)) So, I can say for sure This helmet is great for electeic bikes. Up to 35 km/h :-) beyond this speed- if I was riding a real motor bike i would probably buy something more expensive:-)
This is a crap helmet ... the inside liners started coming apart and the liner snaps broke away from the helmet backing. Hardly used it before it started to fall apart.

That's annoying 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the comment!

@John Leslie if you are in-between sizes, get the bigger size. It does not loosen up much.
I crashed today. It did it's job. I going for next one tomorrow.
Glad you're ok

@John Leslie it fitted like a globe, very comfortable.

Do they have a shutting mechanism?
@@AjSinRag nope

I could really do with all of these product reviews

Please bring back mini tip monday
i'd be interested to see your opinion on Scorpion AT950, another budget dual sport helmet
J’adore 👍
It work with a intermediate oval shape?
The only problem I have ever had with this helmet is the paint chipping off🤷🏼♂️
In India it doesn't come with pinlock ready Wiser. 😭
👌🏻👍🏻
Thank you for saving me money that I would throw down the drain...

it's not scratchproof :(
if i'm right, then there is no place for communication in this helmet :'(
BR, from Hungary
You're right. EPS foam and padding push against ear. You'd have to cut some foam.
It is easy to make some room for the speakers. You can fix the foam to not crumble, with a heat gun. It is perfect.
Too bias bro 👊
Looks cheap
It Is cheap
