- The House of the Dead 2 (ザ・ハウス・オブ・ザ・デッド 2) is a 1998 on-rails light gun shooter by Sega AM1. Developed for the NAOMI arcade board, the game was later ported to the Dreamcast and PC.

I remember playing this with my friends all the time when I was a kid, it was so much fun! It's so over the top and filled with action it's just so good even by today standards. I wish games were fun and original like this one again.
well you got scarlet dawn more recently but thats if you enjoy the whole spraying at a horde with a smg gameplay from 4
The dialogues in this game are super realistic.

The fact the voice acting took such a huge nosedive (into "so bad it's good" territory, but still) after the first game is so baffling. Hangedman had the same high-pitched filter as Judgement, but somehow Hangedman made it work
I remember playing this at the arcade and beating the entire game with 2 dollars one day!!! I am so happy I was able to experience the arcade scene in the late 90s and really early 2000s before it finally died. Time Out arcade forever!!!!

Great playthrough!
I remember playing this on dream cast and had method for shooting fast like machine gun by sliding my thumb back and forth between the a and b buttons. Or shoot and reload buttons.

how to make this game
The sound of Hieorphant hitting the ground at 13:14 is rather funny. FLOP!!!
This and House of the Dead 1 are the best arcade rail shooters ever, in my record. But technically I prefer the first game (I guess it's 'cause I've memorized it to death). When it comes to the arcade machine though, I prefer playing the deluxe version because of the screen distance.
And nice red blood!

Personally, I think this one is not good as The House of the Dead 1, 3, 4, and Overkill.
I like 1 better than 2 and 2 better than 3 and Overkill. Haven't played 4.
Well, 1 resembles Resident Evil, 3 has best final boss, 4 has amazing graphics, Overkill has innovative gameplay. But 2 doesn't have notiable surprises to me.
For me it's 1 > 3 > 2 > 4 > Overkill
