I still have my grandmother’s save file for oracle of seasons. When she died, I got her copy of the game, so these games will always hold a special place in my heart.
Your grandmother's legacy lives within you. What a heartwarming story. Enjoy these two classic games! 💙
That's so sweet, rest her soul
I'm so excited that more people can experience these games! The Oracle duology are cornerstones of my childhood. I'd highly recommend them to anybody!
Never in my life did I think i'd see the Maku Tree comment on a UA-cam video
Right?! At the time I was like 'ughh, frustrating, do not like!' Now though, when I look back? I realize that I don't even REMEMBER an entire summer of my childhood because I spent ~60% playing those games back to front. And with good reason! It was such a simple approach, but it just _worked._
I can't wait to BUY THEM AGAIN and HELP SUPPORT NINTENDO.
Yes it’s such a huge treat for us zelda fans i am super excited for the oracle games

Two of the best games I played when I was younger. I am so happy to see them rereleased. Fingers crossed we eventually get a remake of them like Link’s Awakening.
I want to be able to play them without entering passwords.
It's already there
i think hes talking about a remaster for the two games, cuz that sounds awesome asf
A remake of A Link to the past will be crazy
@@reen816link between worlds exist, it be pointless to remake a link to the past
Ages & Seasons are criminally underrated. I hope more people are able to play them and love them as much as I do thanks to this release.
I still have never played Oracle of Seasons. I never noticed the different shades of Red and Blue other than the game box art.
Agreed!
well, i think theres like 40 millions NSO sub right... thats certainly a bunch of people that should.
They’re considered two of the best games of all time. Definitely not underrated.
Hopefully the players that never played the oracle games, have a Nintendo switch and the Nintendo switch membership.
I remember my parents getting these games for me and my sister for a holiday. I played seasons while she played ages. We didn't even know for the longest game that we could cross over our save files. Once we beat our game, we traded and it's one of my favorite childhood memories.
That's so fun
Dang I bet that was fun!! I wish something like that could've happened to me
Damn what a wholesome memory.
Games were so magical as a kid.
For anyone who never had the chance to play these games when they came out, as someone who owned the originals I can tell you that these two games are some of the most amazing true to fashion zelda games I've had the pleasure of playing in my 34 years on this earth and I hope you have every bit as much fun with them as I did when I played them all those years ago
There are only like four of those though so what's their competition? These dont come close to Link's Awakening or A Link to the Last in my opinion and I right there when they were new as well. I'd say they have less value than the original too so what's that leave, Minish Cap? They're certainly worth playing, but Jesus Christ let's pump the brakes, huh?
@bigduke5902 that's nice, I still enjoyed them, thank you for sharing your opinion though
I have them too on my sp
@@cobrajoe5 Me too. They're certainly worth playing. Let's maybe calm down a bit and think a little critically
There's plenty I could be critical of sure I don't disagree with you, but given that they're free for people to play now I feel it's good to promote them for my own based opinion so as not to deter others from trying them out and deciding for themselves whether they like them or not
Fun fact: These were the first Zelda titles Hidemaro Fujibayashi (The director of Tears of the Kingdom & most of the recent entries in the franchise) directed, back when he was still working at Capcom. I wouldn't be surprised if he took inspiration from Subrosia in Oracle of Seasons when creating the Dephs in Tears of the Kingdom.
The Oracle games are so special to me. Ages was my first real introduction to Zelda, and I only got it because a boy I had become friends with in school had Seasons. I remember swapping the cartridges and sharing the secret codes with each other, and the music for both games is burned into my memory. I still have my original cartridge but it died years ago, so I'm glad they're becoming accessible again in other ways. Hopefully more people will get to play them.
It's crazy how many people grew up on these! I did as well, and am so excited to be playing again (maybe name my character zelda like i did first time playing too). BTW such a big fan Zullie, I love your content!!!
Dark souls god! What are you doing here?
Just so you know, the battery in your game can be replaced! So they aren't a lost cause!
Yes
I definitely plan on it, Super excited! After totk OoT & MM 😅. But genuinely excited it'll be the 1st top-down I get to next.
The most criminally underrated Zelda games! Love these so much

Definitely!!! They're amazing games who deserve so much more love. Regardless if they're anyone's favorites or not
After Minish cap but yeah
100% right, this games have one of the best dungeons design of the series.
@@DeTintasyPixeles I still think link’s awakening and Minish cap had the best dungeon design but alright.
Oracle of ages was the first zelda I ever played! And it definitely struck a cord with me. I begged and begged my parents for oracle of seasons to complete the story and wow was that an amazing experience! Still have my copies to this day!
Very cool always nice to see people with real love for an old game
i prefer seasons :D
My brother had seasons and I hade ages, very core childhood memory swapping the games with him and also asking him for advice!
Ages is the best zelda game
I had it but didn't like it at a kid, returned it for Mega Man Xtreme 2, which was great. I like it now though.
Both Oracle games have some really cool and unique puzzle ideas that the series hasn't really repeated since.
Glad to finally see them added to the library! ❤
These two games defined my childhood. They were the first games I ever owned and subsequently beat. Hopefully a new generation will find as much joy with them as they brought me.
🙂👏 I agree and I'm completely grateful that Nintendo had brought these Game Boy Color games to Nintendo Switch Online!
😄👍 You have my words everyone that these two "The Legend of Zelda" video games were critical and commercial successes!
😉👌 The experiences you'll have from both of them will forever be timeless and everyone who had played this before will receive countless amount of nostalgic!
A couple of the best and having 2 games interact and crossover with eachother back then was an amazing feat.
What's wild is that it was supposed to be 3 games that combined like that! They ended up going with two to save complexity / dev time etc
Maybe when we get a remake we will get the missing link one day.
Some of the most underrated Zelda games ever made by far, up there with spirit tracks and minish cap, glad a new generation is getting to play these
So underrated they're being labeled such by everyone in this very comment section.
@@bigduke5902ngl this title is underrated. Barely anyone talks about these two games; heck I forgot it's existence
@@Personthatexists You're being a dick in the comments. Stop making everyone who likes the games feel bad.
@@phoenixwhiler943 I remember when they were new and they sure weren't underrated then, not by a long shot. At that time the latest Zelda game was Majora's Mask and these two were easily my least favorite then. They're very much worth playing, but the only reason you don't hear much about them is because they haven't been made as available.
@@bigduke5902 not even that tho. Games like links awakening was known well before the remake. These two games I didn't even know exists as the fandom barely talks about it. And ofc at their time it wasn't overrated it was a new game lol. But now it's underrated
You're all gonna have a blast with this one! Best selection of gadgets link's ever had! So many amazing bosses and dungeons!
nice to hear that, comrade!

Camelot did these games wonders. I had seasons.
@@raffderfalkeI only played seasons but heard it was the best of the two.
Absolutely love the Oracle games. Oracle of Ages was such a massive part of my childhood. ♥

These games are amazing and marked the end of the Gameboy Color.
The system still had another 2 years that it released games. Several gems like Shantae were released. The GBA came the next month though, so it was the end of an era.
Damn
I'm sad that that third planned game never could get made at the time. I wonder what it would have been like
these games are the most frustrating and time consuming in the series. You need to understand that. They are bad.
Never got to play these classics...Thank you Nintendo!
The Oracles are a fantastic duo. I would love to see them remade in the future.
@@Personthatexiststf u talking about these are the best games on the GBC imo
I've not played these yet, but did you know they were originally meant to be a trio? Think of how awesome that would have been had they been able to do it. Of course it's a wonder in and of itself that they got the two to work, but I often think about the missing third.

My childhood right here. Thank you for making it widely available to so many more people!
Nintendo! Please remake these like you did Link's Awakening! These games deserve it!
The Oracle games really do deserve the love! Both are very fun and have amazing stories! It deserves the praise it's gotten!

Oracle of Seasons was my first ever LoZ game, so happy to finally be able to play Ages, too!!
These games are highly underrated. They essentially become sequels to each other depending on which order you play. They're so fun!
The only difference is the bonus dungeon you unlock in the second game and some minor dialogue changes.
A Zelda game highly underrated such a thing is not a possibility.

But I've literally heard no one ever say they don't like them
@@Nahobinoahunderrated doesn't necessarily mean overhated! not many people talk about oracles and ages compared to the other games because a lot of people havent played them
The fact that you can use all three saves and have a different adventure each time is fascinating.
1. Base game.
2. Linked game.
3. Hero game.
And you can do that for both games.
Could you explain the 3 differences?
@@sirgilmour Basically in a linked game, you can carry over certain inventory items from the other game and unlock some stuff.
A Hero game is basically New Game+ with new content from beating both games.
@@michaelcarlton1484 The Hero's game only starts you with an extra Heart Container and the Victory Ring. Other than that its the same as a non linked game and its only purpose is to let you transfer all of your rings in a non linked game

Some of the best Zelda games ever made in the history of the world. I might need to replay them!!!! I have already beaten them around 6 or so times each. They never get old.
Oracles of Ages and Seasons are what truly got me into the Legend of Zelda from the beginning. I'm so glad they brought those back. And I hope they direct this franchise to go back to this again. I wouldn't mind any changes.
Capcom can make some good Zelda when they want to
@@lightdarksoul2097 4 sure. Capcom should make another open world action adventure game one of these days.
Oracle of Seasons was actually the first Zelda game I ever played. And it's still my favorite (next to Totk). I'm glad more people will be able to play this and Ages as they are both very underrated and forgotten.
A serious disclaimer:
*They were **_not_** originally programmed by Nintendo.*
They were actually programmed and developed by *CAPCOM Co. Ltd.*
You know, _Resident Evil,_ _Street Fighter,_ and _Mega Man,_ with classic arcade games conceived by *Poo* (Noritaka Funamizu) and *Kihaji* (Yoshiki Okamoto)?
And what about *INAFKING,* a.k.a. Keiji Inafune?
This will be a fine addition to my collection
To all you new players of the Oracle duology, I recommend playing Seasons first. It's lighter on story and puzzles, and the way the story picks up in intensity when you link both games serves Ages better than Seasons, in my opinion.
^^^

what's more, if you were to play Ages first, there's a map square in Ages you will never be able to get into
@@rogiserushow does the game work? Like why is there two , and like you said if I don’t play one of them you won’t have access to a place ? I can’t wait to play but I wanna make sure I play it right
@@toastbud6870 They're two different stories in different worlds. When you complete one, it gives you a password to use in the other one that carries over your character and makes it act as the sequel. That thing about a square on the map isn't a big deal, it just means you can't "100% complete" Ages if you play it first.

Bought these and Link's Awakening on the 3DS years ago. Fantastic games, especially Oracle of Ages, which I grew up with. Can't tell you how many times I played it as a teen.
As a child, I was totally into zelda, especially OOT. I never was allowed to own a N64 tho. Then one random day, I asked my mother if I can have one of those games for the gameboy. I never expected her to get them for me, but the next day she just handed me over both of the games and for the first time in my life, I felt like I owned a real zelda. Two weeks ago, I told her that this memory really stood out for me and that it made me so happy when I was 13. These games are great!
Seasons was the game I grew up with but I ended up loving both just as much. The way you can interconnect a games ending with another ones begining. It just makes me wonder, if that was a masterpiece to me, how it would have been if they ended up making the three oracles (oracle of secrets as well). Not only does your entire fanbase look forward to a remaster, but please o please release a oracle of secrets game with it as well, with switchable graphics (old and new). That would be an astonishing masterpiece in and of itself.
