For those who don’t know, the bird from Sonic The Hedgehog called Flicky does originate from their own arcade game from 1984, it is pretty cool that they referenced it in Sonic The Hedgehog
*their
Sonic 3d blast is a Flicky game. Collect chirpy chirps, get to the exit.
This is true.
That is awesome, I had no idea!
Literally 1984
Not bad! Flicky and Kid Chameleon are alright. Pulseman is an absolute gem, especially for those interested in what Game Freak was doing before Pokemon. Street Fighter II is a surprise, but a welcomed one.
I hope we get Barney’s Hide & Seek game for the Sega Genesis on Nintendo Switch Online
I can't play Pulseman sadly as I suffer from Epilepsy. The flashing patterns are Nausea inducing and would likely trigger a fit.
@@DarkAnomaly It's possible they reduced the flashing, Nintendo has a serious anti-seizure policy and a lot of games were changing to avoid it in the Virtual Consoles releases and these changes are extending to Switch Online games.
I would've thought they'd put Street Fighter II on the SNES one, but that could just be me.
Street Fighter II’s inclusion is very well-timed as SF6 is just around the corner, but it’s too powerful for the Switch (unless they do a cloud version or something). So why not throw a bone for us Nintendo users!
RIP to those trying to beat every single level in Kid Chameleon.
Yeah, I will try again
Bloody Swamp
I remember playing it a long time ago and getting stuck on I guess level 2 and had no clue how to proceed felt like I was softlocked in a small area or something but it being an old game I'm sure I just missed something the game didn't tell me about like a fake wall or some way to break the wall
There's a lot of hidden warps that let you skip various levels in KC if you know where to look for them.
@@SparkyMK3 I dare anyone to beat the game without using any warps
Ayyyy glad to see Pulseman here. For those who don’t know, it was developed by Game Freak
Looks like the Porygon episode wasn't their first time inducing epileptic seizures
Don't forget Pulseman is basically the offspring of a scientist and his computer
Ken Sugimori also worked on the artwork
i'm glad it return.. i wasn't happy it was missing from the genesis collection.
GameFreak's non Pokemon games are low key 🔥 Pluse Man, Drilldozer, Harmo knight.
Pulseman? Awesome, it is great to see it get some recognition.
I feel like it's trying to give me a seizure
@@174Anime 😂😂
I can’t wait to see Barney’s Hide & Seek Game, Sonic the Hedgehog 1, and Ronald McDonald’s Treasure Land Adventure for the Sega Genesis on Nintendo Switch Online. All three games are goat.
the Creator of the game Is Game Freak the same creator before Pokemon
@@174Anime yeah who thought that was a good idea lol
Before Pokemon there was Pulseman. Very good game
truly we will never run out of ways to play street fighter 2
Holy crap, Street Fighter 2?!?! I thought it wasn’t a possibility due to the Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection and the Capcom Fighting Collection. Good to know it’ll be playable for those who haven’t tried it yet.
You know to be honest the thing that sucks about that one is that if you use the official three button controller it doesn't really make it a real experience and I believe all the other controllers you can set up to be like a six button control which makes it more arcade-like but there's other ways of enjoying Street fighter a lot better
We didn't need every single version on the collection I wish ultra 4 and 5 champion edition was on switch
@@RenegadeY2K6 the real genesis sf2 experience is pressing start to switch between punches and kicks
@@RenegadeY2K6even back in the day there were third party SNES style controllers for the Genesis to deal exactly with this problem. So I end up using the SNES controller.
I know! It's almost as if you thought that the tears of the Kingdom development was just going to pay for itself! I hope you're more than ready to spend over 60 bucks for a game that can played on your phone for under $15!
I forgot Genesis existed in expansion pack
Pulseman getting added is a bigger W than I could have expected but a welcome W all the same.
It’s funny how, like 30 years later, segas games are exclusively available on their competitors console
Wow, Pulseman! I never thought I'd see the day where it got a western release, and I'm so glad it did!
Pulseman already had two other western releases before. In 1995, it was released for the Sega Channel, while in 2009, it was released again for the Wii Virtual Console.
Rotom's inspiration my guy. He's home at last.
@@tremere3337 Pulsemans signature move is also the Volt Tackle that is now a Pikachu special.
As someone who grew up on Sonic Mega Collection this is awesome.
God that game is great. I remember playing ristar on that so much. And listening to the menu theme song for hours on end
Yeah the Switch has nothing
As someone who grew up on Genesis and N64.... ouch
@@DavidDomke As someone who grew up on the Atari 2600 and NES, ouch
As someone who grew up with actual games and all the console ports and the pc ports and the free ports on mobile, this is not awesome
Okay, Pulseman has me really excited. I've wanted to play that for so long. Plus, at least that's not already on the Genesis collection.
ever heard of emulation ?
@@scokera4366 nooooo that's illegal
@@knuclear200x who cares? No one
@@scokera4366 not everyone like to have perfect settings and to map all controllers everytime. I'm one of the people who have all emulation games but I prefer to play my real games anyway on official hardware.
@@knuclear200x actually emulating is NOT illegal if you own the game and rip the files themselves.
Now that’s a good surprise! Pulseman wasn’t something I was expecting ever
Okay, Kid Chameleon is a pretty good addition
Flicky and Kid Chameleon are predictable if very welcome additions, but I'm REALLY happy that Pulseman and the Genesis port of SFII have been added! I've never played Pulseman before, so I'm really excited to try it out!
Loved Kid Chameleon back in the day
Fun fact: If you order the games by release date, the app will list Pluseman at the end with the year 2009 attached to it. That’s the year that it came out for the Wii virtual console and was the first time it released outside of Japan.
They did a similar thing with earthbound beginnings.
Actually, Pulseman was available in the States in ‘95 but only through the Sega Channel subscription. Would have loved if it got a physical release here but at least we have NSO to the rescue.
@@megamarsonic that was also how Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Genesis remakes of the first 3 Mega Man games, was distributed.
Solid additions to the Sega library
Neat to finally play the game Pikachu's Volt Tackle comes from.
And hey, NSO finally got a Street Fighter game!
Yeah because the Switch has nothing
@@knuclear200x yeah, bo games at all. The eshop is empty
Yeah because of the Street Fighter collections and Capcom Arcade Stadium
One that has a Turbo 9 setting! Most Capcom fighting games never go beyond Turbo 2 or Turbo 3. Only the US version of SSF2T has Turbo 4, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max goes up to Turbo 7!
I hope 🤞 they add the street fighter games for the other systems too
Pulseman was the last game I purchased on WIi Ware. Glad to see it on Switch again.
Pulseman is rad, lots of enemies and bosses that eventually became Pokémon. I wish GameFreak would make a sequel someday.
As soon as I saw that volt attack, I immediately thought of Pikachu’s Volt Tackle in smash bros! 🤯
Sadly it's a SEGA IP, so GameFreak can't make it without SEGA's approval.
@@Luigivaldo Yup, that's the move's origin.
@@Mari_Izu Sega hands out their IP to indie devs these days. Not impossible that gamefreak could work something out.
@@kodax This. If Game Freak were to pitch something to SEGA, and they like it, a sequel could happen. The real concern is GF getting the free time to make one between TPC's ordering annual Pokémon games
@@SmashTheOni They've made non-Pokemon games since. Tembo the Badass Elephant and HarmoKnight were both GF.
It's really cool how Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Edition is on here, it's a fun fighting game I played a lot on the Genesis Mini. Hope they add Mortal Kombat next for some nice bloody gameplay.
SO freaking excited for Pulseman.
"Pulseman" was developed by Game Freak. Yes, *_THAT_* Game Freak. That's enough reason to play it.
Yo, they finally got Pluse Man!!! Oh the nostalgia 😢😊
omg Pulseman!? Let’s goo
STREET FIGHTER!?
Thank you Nintendo for your love of SEGA your old adversary. Pulseman is an amazing addition, and SFII is such a thoughtful add on! ❤
Flicky and Kid chameleon are so fun! Can't wait to play the others!
Good additions to the library for sure. Still hoping Ranger X and Crusader of Centy come at some point
That and High Seas Havoc and more obscure games like Rolo to the Rescue and James Pond II: Robocod. I wish they'd add licensed Genesis games like Aladdin, Castle of Illusion and it's ilk, Desert Demolition and The Adventures of Batman & Robin, but that's a pipe dream...
Pulseman and Street Fighter II, what a wonderfull surprise ❤️
I love these little surprises….
The Genesis line up is consistently the best line up for NSO updates. Pulseman easily steals the show here hands down
Can’t wait for the next Genesis games in 10 years
Toxic
@@dice_block it’s true thi
They’ve been better about updating them than NES and SNES at least.
People really pay $50 a year for this 😭
You’re not wrong
These definitelly are games.
I used to have pulseman on the Wii virtual console. It's an excellent game and well worth trying
Here in Brazil people really love Kid Chameleon, so that's nice that we finally can play in the Switch, and I want to try Pulseman for quite some time now 👏👏
Fun Fact: The move Volt Tackle Pikachu uses in the Pokemon games and anime originally came from Pulseman for the Sega Genesis.
@@Unknown_User174 yes and I think the game Pulseman was made by Game Freak if I'm correct
Kid Chameleon is officially the best Switch release of the month. Overall an impressive addition. Finally!
Happy to see Pulseman there!
They added SFII just in time for the Street Fighter 6 Showcase……even though SF6 is (understandably) not coming to the Switch.
Even though I own several versions from several collections of street fighter II, I'm super happy about its existence on Genesis library.
I remember playing Flicky on the Sonic Mega Collection for gamecube. I'm looking forward to playing it again.
Sega adding another set of absolute gems for the Genesis 🤙🏻
Pulseman! That’s a awesome release, looking forward to this. Glad they are still releasing games was starting to think they forgot about this part of the service lol.
one of my fav childhood games, flicky, brings back a lot of memories.
Sure would love to see some good classic and SNES titles added.
Get them yourself?
Yeah where the heck are the Mario games and Zelda games?
@@knuclear200x As you could get a gf,bc it’s obvious u really need one
More Nintendo 64 and GBA games please
Hacked switch and you could have the entire library
I never thought we'd get Pulseman! This is awesome! Street Fighter II is such an enduring classic that they just HAD to bring it to the online service at some point! Does this mean we'll get other games like The World Warrior, Turbo, Alpha, or The New Challengers? I know there's the Anniversary Collection, but the Super Nintendo versions of those games aren't on there.
This is the good thing about the Sega updates is they seem to be more willing to get good 3rd party games for the app unlike Nintendo who rely a lot more on there catalogue of 1st party titles
@NintendoHub Pretty sure Nintendo were the one who pick all of these. Flicky cause it's related to Sonic, Kid Chameleon cause it plays more like Mario and Kirby, Pulseman cause it's made by Game Freak, and Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition cause it's already on the Sega Genesis Mini.
Pulseman is an underrated gem from the genisis days.
I played flicky when i was just a child, it's very nostalgic for me
1:13
Game Freak: How much epilepsy do You want?
Sega: Yes.
These games are solid picks. Do hope they pick up the pace and put better games.
Yeah because the Switch has nothing
I still don't understand why there's only sonic 2 in terms of Genesis sonic games
@@alt4388 Because it's the best one. 3 is overrated and is unfinished.
@@knuclear200x you''re right. No games, the eshop is empty
@raptros Totally. Absolutely nothing on the Switch ever since its launch in 2017.
Good ol' Flicky!
Plus it's very cool finally having a version of Street Fighter 2 Turbo on Nintendo Switch Online 😁
PULSEMAN!? Hot Dog! The inspiration for Pikachu's Volt Tackle is finally playable!🤩
Good thing I still have that Mega Collection.
Yo pulseman deserves a lot of attention that game is amazing!
I wanted Kid Chameleon so badly! Love that game!
Kid chameleon was one of the first games I ever beat. It was so cool switching helmets and getting more abilities and looks.
I didn't know Pulseman, but it looks nice! and SF2 is a really great addition! hope to see more great games coming to Genesis on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack!
My personal thoughts on these additions below:
⬇️
*Flicky* - I remember giving this one a shot, back in the Mega Collection! A bit unusual to control, but otherwise it’s fun.
*Kid Chameleon* - Seems a bit interesting, though other comments suggest that the game’s a bit on the brutal side.
*Pulseman* - Looks rather fun! …Disorienting background aside.
*Street Fighter II* - Ohhh boy, time to pick up a fighting game.
Flicky is one of the first games I played along with Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle.
Also, the Genesis games I want on Switch Online are
Mortal Kombat (Sega CD), Mortal Kombat 2 (32X), Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Knuckles Chaotix (32X), Night Trap (Sega CD), Splatterhouse 2, Splatterhouse 3, Eternal Champions (Sega CD), Brutal Unleashed (32X), Primal Rage (32X), Pit Fighter, After Burner (32X), Snatcher (Sega CD), Streets of Rage 1, Shining Force CD (Sega CD), Virtua Fighter (32X), Rise of the Dragon (Sega CD), Final Fight CD (Sega CD), Castle of Illusion
Oh cool, games I’ve been capable of playing on my Wii and Genesis Mini for YEARS now. Very nice...🙄
Oh yes!!! Kid Chameleon is one of my all-time favorite classics! Glad to see it return. Plus, Street Fighter Special Champ Edition has a soft spot for me as the first SF I ever owned.
"Pulseman made by GameFreak was an amazing game, the company struck big only a few years later with Pocket Monsters but I know someday they will make Pulseman 2 for a SEGA console" - Uncle from Another World.
This is a really cool set of games. Love seeing Genesis Online get updates like this
Will have to try Pulseman out for sure
Hey, some really good adds with this one! I'm still hoping we'll get the Road Rash trilogy and Rocket Knight Adventure soon. Those games are harder to come by!
Yeah I haven't a clue why RKA hasn't been playable since it came out on Genesis.
Also seeing Strider, Mega Man and Street Fighter is great but what I'd really love is if Capcom put Ghouls n' Ghosts on there.
Oh boy! Kid Chameleon and Street Fighter II again!
Pulseman! Now paying customers will learn where Pikachu's final Smash comes from... one of Game Freak's hidden gems
Dude, Pulse Man looks like an epileptic person's worst nightmare lol jeez
Pulse Man is sick to get admittedly.
Street Fighter 2. Yet again. Can't wait for the next port to drop next week🙄
Oh sweet Pulseman, wasn't expecting that. Just wish that the JP/Mega Drive games used their actual boxart for the menu instead of just a screenshot of the title screen though, Pulesman's boxart has full English in it for pete's sake!
*GREAT* picks! Especially the *Mappy* game (where the character technically first appeared, before appearing in the *Sonic The Hedgehog* franchise afterwards), and *Kid Chameleon,* one of my most favorite Sega games. Speaking of which, I definitely need to play more of it.....
Flicky👍😎
Come on Bowser give us Mother 3!
And people thought games with gold was the bottom of the barrel
True they can’t play redfall 😢
I have some nostalgia with Flicky
This is a pretty awesome addition. All of these look really cool, which i can’t say about jelly boy…
Classic games 🎮
Yeah :D
0:15 O SBT usa o som desse joguinho e de uma gameplay de New Super Mario Bros DS na novela Cúmplices quando alguém tá jogando kkkkkkk conheci o Flicky através da novela, depois conheci o jogo.
Siiiim
Pulseman, also known as the origin for pikachu and pichu’s final smash In super smash bros ultimate
Great news. Kid chameleon is my favourite megadrive game. I still own the original cart from back in the day. Awesome news. Emulation looks fantastic too.
Best version of Guile's theme is the Genesis SF2:SCE version at 1:42.
Goes with everything.
Oh, hey. Fancy seeing you here!
CPS2 version better.
You're right! I can confirm, this is true. I am competing in a popsicle stick tooth scraping tournament. Currently training. It fits.
Barney Hide & Seek Game (Sega Genesis) for Nintendo Switch Online
I feel like title goes to the SNES version
I'm ready! Great games update!
RIP Flicky's solo career though, she's stuck as a Sonic side character forever now. Flicky was actually an arcade game originally ported to SG-1000 BTW.
The SG-1000 was nothing but arcade ports and when the Famicom came out, it absolutely curbstomped the SG-1000. The SG-1000 was only ever released in Japan, Taiwan (second model only) and somehow for some reason, Australia (first model only). The home computer variant, SG-3000 saw a much wider release across Europe (but not UK for some reason), as well as Australia and NZ as home computer game consoles were a big deal in Europe and AU/NZ.
PULSE MAN?!?! I've wanted to play it for ages!!!
How is Sonic 1 not on the service yet? XD
Damn, they got flicky now?
This was my SFII version growing up. Excellent one
Yesterday, I had subscribed to NSO... with an upgrade. It's awesome to see SEGA and third party publishers bringing throwback games for the Genesis. The only problem is that you need a Genesis 6-button controller for Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition. However, it's still a definite must buy for fans of 16-bit games in the Super NES/Genesis eras.
Just use the Switch Pro Controller! Face buttons are there + L and R
@@ParkBarrington360 Good point!
Awesome 🤩
Thank you for Flicky… a game nobody really plays nor owns in their gaming library.
Speak for yourself. It was part of Sonic Mega Collection, and I was *addicted* to it for a while.
You don't speak for all of us. I had it and played it.
Sonic Mega Collection?
@@SonicLoverDS It was? I dont remember it being in the Mega Collection
I had Flicky as a kid in my Genesis library and I still enjoy playing it to this day.
Flicky is a fun little game.
All thought that Pulseman would remain in Wii virtual console purgatory....
I wish Nintendo would put Mutant League Hockey and Football on the service. That would be sick.
STILL No Sonic 1?
FLICKY!!!!!!
I remember having a sega genesis mini and playing kid chameleon. It was so hard
I haven't played the original run of these games but flicky and Kid Chamileon were on those plug and play tv things back in like 04 or 05 and I spent ours on those games!
Ay yooooo! Bangers!!!
