We don't have actors like Basil Rathbone anymore.
Or lastrade!!
Because he is dead.
Most colorized movies look awful but this was quite good! Thanks for posting this great movie.
IAM A BIG FAN OF SHERLOCK HOLMES. BASIL RATHBONE AND JEREMY BRITT ARE MY FAVORITES. 😊😊😊😊
A lot of so called 'Colourised' films are simply tinted, this is properly done.
I remember they used to show Sherlock Holmes on BBC2 in the 80's when I was a child.
Always liked the old movies 🇬🇧
Great job with the colorization. Nice and mild colors, I liked it thx.
We don't have movies like this anymore
You mean that are interesting and have a plot ?
🧐🤔
@@susanjohnson9795glad you enjoyed it
Doyle was a genius and this is the best Holmes and Watson there ever was
Classic. Have seen this so many times but always a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Mrs Hudson always recognises Holmes when he's disguised...😊😊😊
Excellent Thank you
Great...thanks!!!❤
love this.
We don't have service like this anymore.
Wow. Colorised , yet can't tell. ❤
"The needle to the last, hey, Holmes?" LOL
great movie loved it
I enjoyed. Thank you.
Nowadays movies are junk. These older ones are priceless.
Truly
O melhor Sherlock Holmes
Sim.Ele é perfeito.
I don’t like being pedantic but this film is from 1942. A moral boosting type film from WW2
Notice how far lower our morals are since they quit making films like this???
We don't make films like this anymore shame about that
Indeed
It's a 1942 film, not 1947.
searched it up and it was actually in 1942, not 1947.
Wonderful movie 😊
Thank you for uploading this movie.
Pena que ñ é legendado.
Quem fez bem;tbm foi Robert D.Jr.
Good movie, but it annoys me as someone who has studied codes and ciphers just slightly more than the average person that there is a glaring error in the scene where they are trying to decipher the message from Tobel. Holmes says that the message is more complicated than a simple substitution code, but in reality the cipher as described is just two substitutions applied on top of each other, which is useless. Substitution ciphers do not gain strength, but are equally (and quite easily, I might add) breakable through analysis of frequency, as Dr. Watson was doing at first. Therefore, it doesn't make sense that Dr. Watson's initial analysis turned up nonsense, because it was still merely substitution.
If you want a cipher to gain strength with multiple encryptions, transposition ciphers rather than substitution ciphers must be used. I taught an introduction to this stuff to a bunch of middle schoolers a couple years ago - the material is super interesting to learn more about if you are so inclined!
"Eye Eye up she rises" wtf?????
Sorry, it's a sin to 'colorize' these great films. The cinematographers lighted these scenes for B&W film stock to get rich white and black tones and this - is just a washed out mess. Fortunately, the original B&W film is available elsewhere on YT.
WARNING: To many commercials.
Warning.. pay for UA-cam premium then
this was NOT made in 1947 - this was made in 1942
Filmed in 1942 not 1947 get your facts correct.
Wow you get pretty upset over small things. You need to relax a little.
A female pilot on a secret mission during WW2? 😂 I don't think so... Damn... Woke started in the 40's 😂
1942 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4th😊
anyone who can accept the idea of the colorization of black and white films has bad taste. The issue involved is so clear, and the artistic sin of colorization is so fundamentally wrong, that colorization provides a pass-fail examination. If you "like" colorized movies, it is doubtful that you know why movies are made, or why you watch them. Roger Ebert
1943
Love these old movies first class
If Conan Doyle had seen this rubbish he'd have had a heart attack.
Typo. 1942
