Congratulations on another interesting interview. You all do a high quality job, and hopefully your channel will continue growing so that more viewers have a chance to appreciate your efforts.
My pretty Japanese girlfriend did kokuhaku and then did I to her.. But we were seeing each other for almost a year before that. Now we live together and plan our marriage for later in 2025.
Good video! It is important to distinguish between 'Kokuhaku' (confession) and the western etc 'Proposing' ie down on one knee ! 'Kohuhaku' is NOT a PROPOSAL of marriage! HOWEVER, it can lead to getting closer to the one you like, making them 'special' AND lead to DATING. Because Japan is a very FILIAL / PATRIARCHY family based country where such can be extremely volatile or COMPLIANCE dictates following the RULES the parents dictate to the child et ? Some parents will NOT allow 'dating' etc during school years.. college a little more relaxed.. BUT! 'Kokuhaku' exists as a means for the Japaneses to confess their feelings in an accepted traditional form. NOT that rejection cannot happen!!
The United States definitely has no sense of confession culture compared to Japan. We’re more on “going with the flow”, which is more like “reading the room” and reciprocating. I didn’t understand it until I met my girlfriend two years ago. She didn’t think what I did was me saying “I like her”, and I was just flabbergasted by that. According to me, I had made it clear that I was into her, but she thought my actual confession was when I actually asked her to be my girlfriend. This video definitely brought a lot into perspective 😂
Thanks to all the interviewees. Personally, I believe the first confession should be face to face, body language for me is essential, the sms textures are for immature. Then I believe that confession should be repeated every day forever with small gestures. I prefer to be single than to be alone in company.
If I’m in an Omiai Agency and got a match for dating and talk to that person for a month, does the relationship still require a “kohuhaku” to advance to the next step?
It is not that is not done I guess abroad, I guess It depends of the country, but usually confession looks more like a teenager thing, normally you get close to that person and usually kiss that person, when you have signals that tells you that she or he is into It too, then you keep moving on with the next steps obviously that doesn't meant necessary that you are dating, usually in one moment someone should ask the question about if you are in a relationship in case It is not clear, but obviously you can confess too that is other way
At what age do people stop doing kokuhaku? Like they just hook up and now their together without any confession because I only imagine people that are still in school that does this, so people like 22-35 would maybe still do it but those near middle-age wouldn't possible do it.
actually in my country with have almost the same thing, but its only popular in the 90s. but nowadays people use dating apps so i guess its unique to japan
I am genuinely confused that this isn't seen as normal. How else do you date without a "confession"? I grown up in Swiss so maybe it's different in other countries but I cant picture out how.
I was thinking actually the same. I'm Costa Rican, and I have never had a girlfriend before, but everytime I wanted a relationship, I did a confession to see if my feelings were reciprocated or not.
@@azarishiba2559 I mean most cultures may not have a name for it and there's for sure some people which just get too close to each other before they did a confession but I don't think that's the norm. I mean without a confession I wouldn't even consider somebody as a partner and get past a certain boundary. Also, don't give up. You can do it. Confessing is difficult so you should be proud you tried.
Can you find Japanese ladies with dating experience abroad if they feel dating without kokuhaku is possible? I feel it is possible if they like the guy enough and probably have heard that confessions are not common outside of Japan.
This is lot better than the situationship we have in the west 😂 people would be dating for over 3 months without knowing if there going out or not. Everything is situationship now in the west 😂
I think having a relationship will never ever ever happen to a guy like me am 28 pretty much blew my teens and 20s. On my next trip abroad am just going to rent a Japanese girlfriend and call it a life.
Did you know in the US we have a sort of reverse kokuhaku where you must tell your lover you are no longer interested in them? Of course the US is an amalgamation of cultures so we don’t follow any particular cultural trait.
Text.. 2:56 NO! A Japanese girl of quality! would NEVER accept that ! A true 'KOKUHAKU' is face to face !! DISCREET! Behing lockers, in some other quiet part of the school OR hometown et To text is lazy, lacking substance! NOT worth pursuing. 3:43 A love letter is not unusual! Another good way ! Shows the person you have taken time over it!
3:09 That tiktok dance in the background 😂

I know people who go on 15 dates over 3 months and still don’t don’t know if they want that person as a boyfriend/girlfriend. 🤔 😮
Ellie's bright smile always makes my day 😊

Here in Finland, when I was young we used to say to a girl, "I like you, will you be my girlfriend?". Isn't that a somewhat similar to kokuhaku?
There is spanglish which involves mixing two languages together. Is it common for janglish; a mixture between japanese and english?
Now I understand why she was yelling “confession!”
Awesome a new video!!
I knew this channel would get big

That's everywhere. You don't just leave someone without saying it, nobody likes being on the receiving end of that
Take notes! Take notes!

Is she related to Kimono Mom?
So I must say in Japan "I kokuhaku you?" :)
Kokuhaku was something very important for people like me born in Showa period (80's)😊.
Im about kokuhaku to this host right here

Saya suka vidio nya sayang ❤❤❤❤
You need to be a Chad to get all these lonely women. It's the easiest way to do it.
The only Chad alive!
Well lucky for me that I am one ^.
Yeah but Japanese will Kokuhaku before one night stand and break up tomorrow. It's just a formality.
First you must understand kokuhaku then you must understand rape play
