    Thank you for all these tips! I’ve been hearing a lot about the carnivore diet lately. Do you have any specific insight or opinions on this?

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  Рік тому +6

      Do you have an autoimmune disease? Diabetes? If not, I HIGHLY recommend steering far away from a Carnivore diet, or even the "less restrictive" keto diet. You would a)end up micro nutrient deficient in multiple areas because of lack of vitamins and antioxidants from a wide array of produce. b) the body is supposed to eat chlorophyl (all your greens!), anthocyanins (purple fruits/blue fruits), carotenoids (oranges/yellows like carrots, squash, potatoes, bell peppers) to fight free radicals and reduce inflammation ---> these fibrous veg scrub out your digestive track daily c) likely set yourself up with heart or blood issues from overconsuming saturated fat depending on meat choices, or too much sodium or excessive processed meats which are carcinogenic in higher quantities.

      @Rachael Hancock hi there! Hope it’s ok for me to share a different perspective here. I highly recommend the carnivore diet. There are many misconceptions out there about this way of eating, but I have read several books and done years of research on it. This is ancestrally actually the most appropriate way for a human to eat. Humans were not foraging for salads 2000 years ago. Fat and protein are essential nutrients. Carbohydrates are not. Plants have toxins, some more than others, and this is why thousands of people who were overweight, sick, diabetic or overall just feeling unwell are feeling their best eating carnivore or meat based. Meat and animal foods are absolutely the best and most bioavailable way to get appropriate micronutrients. You can easily Google the micronutrients in spinach vs carrots vs an Apple vs beef liver or even ground beef just as an example. You would be totally blow away by the micronutrient panel of muscle meat or organs vs ANY plant. Look up Dr. Ken Berry here on UA-cam, Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Paul Saladino. There are many others. These are just a few food resources. Eat “the animal rainbow” as they say, get plenty of Real Salt and water and you will thrive. The theory about saturated fat clogging arteries has been debunked, and even the ADA and AHA have quietly changed their guidelines in this area. Ancel Keys did a study in 1958 called The Seven Country Study where he cherry picked much data to suit his theories. It was very corrupt, but the US government pushed his research and used it to promulgate this idea that saturated fat was the enemy. You can see the result of this shoddy and fake research when you look at our population and see so many sick, overweight and type II diabetic people. Inflammation, sugar, copious carbohydrate consumption and seed oils are the driving force when it comes to heart disease. You can do a pubmed search and find this there. Best wishes! You can find the info about Ancel Keys also easily available if you do an internet search.

      @Rachael Hancock Judy Cho is also a wonderfully knowledgeable resource regarding all of this. She has a lot of UA-cam content and an excellent book called Carnivore Cure. Can’t recommend her enough…also, I’m not saying all plants are bad, and you can’t eat them, but our diet should be ancestrally appropriate and the proper human diet, centered around nutrient dense animal products.

    Excellent content!
    Helpful tip for others: If you are a cute coffee mug lover like me (my collection of Disney coffee mugs is truly absurd, especially since I am the only coffee drinker in the house), use mugs as your “small bowls”. Nothing like eating a small serving of cereal or ice cream with Minnie Mouse or Belle staring at you ;)
    Takeaways for me: 1) treat meat as a side...that’s a great tip for mindset shift! 2) one kid snack per week...I usually provide an array of options, and I’m blessed with a little eater who will often choose peppers and cucumbers over chips. So why do I buy so many snacks that tempt ME more than my kid? Great challenge, Ashley! Thanks!

    Love - one addition for me is waiting until the kids are fed and happy to make yourself (mama) a proper leisurely breakfast that will keep you from falling into waffles , muffins cereal kind of sweet breakfasts you crave if you’re feeling rushed. I just drink coffee until that lull after the kids are happy and fed (not a true intermittent fast type of thing )

    Awesome! Just want to say that I have never consistently exercised basically my whole life (I’m 32) and I bought an exercise bike and borrowed some weight from my mom during my last pregnancy (my baby is 9 mo) and I came across your pregnancy workout plan and followed it all the way through and then bought your post pregnancy plan and all of that has started me on a fitness journey that I’m still continuing! So thank you for what you do! My question is, I’ve hit a plateau and I don’t know what to do. Do you have any suggestions?

    Great video! Some are very practical ideas like buying just one packaged snack each week because let’s be honest I definitely munch on my daughter’s snacks at time. I love how measurable the 2 hour rule is. I am definitely going to implement this! So much valuable information thank you for sharing this! A nutrition topic idea is dairy consumption. There seems to be a lot of noise surrounding dairy would be interested to hear your thoughts!

    My biggest struggle is with the snack train in the evenings, which on the weekend, normally includes a glass of wine. What is your guidance on “mommy drinks?”
    One thing I do with my kiddos after school and do myself if I feel hungry between meals, is I/we eat one serving of fruit and one serving of vegetables before I allow something with less nutrient density.

    Just wanted to thank you for talking about vitamin A. I did not know it was something to watch for and not over consume during pregnancy.
    My prenatals from our MTF don’t list out what’s actually in them. My knowledge of “no” foods for pregnancy was just undercooked meats, and fish in moderation.
    I made myself some fall inspired protein pumpkin smoothies with yq vanilla yogurt and canned pumpkin w seasonings. I realize I need to read up on how much Vitamin A im consuming now. Thank you!!!

    Love all the tips, especially about buying only 1 pre-packaged snack. I don’t buy much but we usually do have 2-3 in our pantry, so I’ll be cutting back on that. I’m curious what your thoughts on intermittent fasting are?

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  2 роки тому

      Lauren, you're right that 2-3 packaged snacks isn't bad at all! I think where it gets to be an issue is when there are tons of varieties because it gets too tempting to choose chips over a Honey crisp apple, even when the apple is what our body REALLY needs. I am not a supporter of IF for active women who have no health issues and who exercise at least a few days per week consistently. IF is effective at creating a calorie deficit for some, because the eating window is much smaller and it automatically nixes the evening snack-train, but for most it's not sustainable or enjoyable long term. If it is something you are interested in, I recommend trying it for 40 days and see how your energy, brain, motivation, recovery, sleep, and happiness are effected for better or for worse and then you'll be more armed to make a personalized informed decision regarding how your body is optimally fueled.

    Why organic onions? My thoughts on onions have always been that we have to peel the layer off and don't remember being apart of the dirty dozen list. Just interested on your take.
    We have the same nutrition vibe🙃. I let tiredness and stress eating get the best of me. Especially during a 12 hour shift and people constantly offer nurses not so healthy snacks. That magic snack train appears and as the shift comes to a close and stress is high.

      Hi Danielle, I feel for you having trouble with the "love handle" area. What season of life are you in? Pregnant/postpartum/farther postpartum? My 10 Minute Plan is ideal for wildly effective ab & oblique & back training (as long as you aren't immediately postpartum- if you're 2-6 months pp, do my 12 Week Post Pregnancy Plan FIRST so we can bring the ab muscles back together and be more intact before applying intense intra abdominal pressure to really get intense core training like we do later on in the 10 Minute Plan). The 10 Minute Plan has an entire core series designed to elicit lean tone & definition while combined with a full body approach including cardio AND strength training to maximize EPOC (the after burn from exercise hours later). www.glowbodypt.com/10minuteplan Message me again on a new youtube comment if you have more questions so I can help, or hit me up on IG or FB messenger on glowbodypt so I can help you.

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  6 місяців тому

      Unless you have food intollerances, allergies, picky eater or food scarcity, you should not be wasting your time counting macros (including protein, carbohydrates and fat). Instead, aim to consume protein at all 3 meals (non-negotiable in your everyday life) and in a snack post workout, if the timing of your workout necessitates it. If you use any of my programs you'll find the EXACT foods I eat every week, the ones I cook and prepare for my family and what will fuel you optimally for your female hormones and lean body weight maintenance without feeling hungry or deprived.
