Yes there a lot of good kids and guys out there but they get laughed at for being nerds and eventually give un to the social pressure to adapt or remain a target. Most areas have community colleges and there is a social welfare system it is possible for everyone to make it out of poverty and into the middle class but getting to the rich class is hard almost impossible if your from a poverty stricken area

Agreed. I grew up in China during the 80s and our buildings looked exactly the same. The same design, colour scheme, layout etc. I think it might be due to China and North Korea copying the Soviet Union which was seen as the leader of the whole Communist movement. Even the style of military uniform look similar.

Which country, the DPRK (N.Korea) or the USA is really deserving of the title, "The World's Most Secretive State"? I think the USA is by far
the winner of that distinction. We lose wars that we are told for
years we are winning by our Presidents and our generals - as in Iraq
and in Afghanistan. Farther back, we had to learn from the "Pentagon
Papers", classified documents, that we were losing the Vietnam war
after 58,000 US lives lost and millions of Asians murdered by our war to
"make them free". We were told that Saddam definitely had weapons of
mass destruction, but it turned out that between Saddam and us, only
the USA had (and has) them. Our NSA listens to our telephone
conversations. The USA calls people who report the crimes its armed
forces and agencies commit "spies" and prosecutes them under a 1918 law
meant for German agents. The US Army prosecuted Bradley Manning for
revealing murder of civilians by soldiers in Iraq. The USA is trying to
extradite an Australian for revealing our war crimes. The USA is
trying to get hold of Edward Snowden for revealing the violations of the
Constitution by the NSA. This is just a partial account. I think the
DPRK has a long way to go to catch up to the USA's secrecy.

    • @andersonarmstrong2650

      Good comment.
In researching African American history,I was struck by the similarities in narrative between escaping slaves and defecting N Koreans. The similarity between public executions and public lynchings. The differences are equally stark..runaway slaves simply ran to where oppression seemed less.Rebellious slaves triggered reprisal killings etc. Generally this parallel is laughed off as the 'land of the free' is way more 'free' than North Korea, right? But the traumas induced by their parallels further distorts this narrative..George Orwell was right to base his dystopia in the West, where nobody ever feels it could ever come to pass. Much as I'd love for North Koreans to be free of their oppression, I'd love even more for Western complacency to be fatally undermined.

What happens if we sent one these reporters to the projects in the US? How about filming Flint Michigan, homeless tent cities in San Diego and Oakland California, crime infested, poor poor parts of Detroit and Chicago?
I am not saying NK is great, all I am saying is that if you want to present bad stuff, you can do that anywhere. At least they have an excuse of 60 years of economic sanctions. What is our excuse as a richest country on earth where quarter of kids go to bed Hungry every night?

    • @covenawhite4855
      @covenawhite4855 6 років тому

We have a possibility through social projects to bring jobs to Detroit and Chicago again. The US survived the great depression so we can fix the poverty in poor Urban Areas. *We must better educate the Urban poor on how to get jobs in this economy by funding impoverished public schools more money and giving free scholarships to Historically Black Colleges. Maybe even start an Affirmative Action program where companies legally have to hire a certain number of inner city people. If not provide tax incentives to bringing jobs into poor Urban Areas.*
In US we are not killed for saying things against government. True their may be social consequences on the Job and social media slander on you but the Government can not respond to speech not related terrorist attacks when dealing with free speech.

  • @stephengnb

I am really liking Al Jazeera and their seemingly unbiased news stories. They are much like Reuters, but even more willing to dig deep into issues.
7:05 - I find it funny the Korean woman says this about the US. If she only knew about the true reality of the situation (which of course is impossible in the North), she would know it's the complete opposite. It's North Korea who is constantly provoking and threatening the outside. North Korea (and KJU) would not attack, because KJU knows that they would lose quickly. The North may get in some destruction in the South and Japan before the UN forces would be able to retaliate, but they would surely lose, and KJU knows that very well.
Also, earlier (around 5:10) when the crew is at the JSA/DMZ, the North Korean man says "South Korean puppets" when pointing to the South Korean soldiers. Personally, I think the South Korean soldiers look badass with their helmets, tinted glasses, and uniforms, all facing the North with their hands in fists. The North's soldiers are required to face each other and towards the North to make sure North Korean soldiers and citizens aren't defecting to the South. Not too threatening. If the South is a puppet of the United States or UN (because it's UN forces), then North Korea would have been considered a puppet of the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, the Soviet Union has collapsed, and with it, one of the North's biggest supporters.

Because if we do, if we remove our troops from South Korea and don't stand up to North Korea's nuclear blackmail (and progress), the DPRK will invade South Korea. Yes, they want reunification, but not under a free democratic regime, only under communist dictatorship. In other words they want South Korea (henc the whole peninsula) to be Communist. That's why they invaded South Korea in 1950. And they would love to do it again.

Kim Jong Un shares his birthday with Elvis Presley. They are both Capricorn, they both have the moon in Pisces and they both have their thinking planet Mercury in Capricorn as well. Kim was born during the water pig, Elvis during the wood dog. Elvis was well known for his generosity, this trait Kim seems to lack,. 100 cars all to himself, and only government officials are allowed to own a car. Elvis used to love giving his friends Cadillacs. We have a King and we have the emperor with his new clothes.

Many things the documentary says are true, but it only presents one aspect of the DPRK. It's slanted. It mainly focuses on the less than one percent of the population that was in prison. Would you trust a documentary that only interviewed people who were held down and abused by prison guards in the US, which has a higher incarceration rate, and then gave up their US citizenship? Would you trust a video that only interviewed those people and ignored the other 99% of the US population? That's what this documentary does. Really shameful.
I'd balance what this video says with reports of people who have actually lived there and worked for years throughout the country and countryside. Google Felix Abt, for example.
Think for yourself, don't just follow what one media source with a pre-set editorial theme which they gather all information around.
Btw, I'm writing this under another post because I've been "ghost banned" by Google from making my own independent posts because of the content of what I've posted. Just Google "ghost banning UA-cam" for more information on this if you're curious about how information is being monitored.

If only the people of any country knew their truth strength, as they give the "leader" power and make them believe that they are powerful. Without followers, the leader has little power. I question what is the reason that most companies do not create more dependable secret recording devices specifically for situations like this, as spy glasses or a small device that can be hidden on clothing can help document important events steathly.

Madam, after Iraq war every country is watching US, remember this, neither the people nor the countries are fully supporting US. I can surely say, US attacks only those countries which are very weak and can't protect themselves. And the Security Council is used by those 5 countries to do everything in their favor not for anything for the cause of the World and poor. I can definitely say God bless North Korea specially their people who are suffering because of US and powerful countries sanctions.
If US wants to punish their leaders, what's the mistake done by just born babies who are effected by the sanctions? I wish best for their babies who didn't do any mistake but getting punishment.

why did you choose America to live, if you were born in the USA your parents migrated there. Adopt the customs of the country you moved to. If you still want to eat only Halal food, give up your American life and move to some arab state or maybe Pakistan. You will feel more at home there.. The biggest issue with muslims is that they wear their identity on themselves all the time telling the world that they are different and going to remain that way. If your religion is not going to evolve you are living in a conflict with the future and present forever.
