An ex-tour guide from NK once said (in the talk show that was featured in this documentary) that they have set places they take the tourists to (decided by the government) and those places and the ppl are all prepared prior to the tourists' arrival. Anyone who may come in contact with "outsiders" are trained as to what to say to the tourists. There are consequences if a local person says the wrong thing to an outsider. If any conversation occurs that was not monitored by the tour guide or officials, a police will pull the local person aside afterwards and ask detailed questions as to exactly what the "outsider" has asked/said and exactly what the local person has said in response. A Jurnalist goes to a show and ask himself: will it be real or a show? WTF
Great documentary! ❤
I have no idea why we need to constantly see and hear the reporters, as if they are the stars. Every minute spent filming the face of the reporter on the bus, is one lost for us to see outside. No comment is needed on a good report that just sho ws and let's people speak for themselves.
Nothing is taught in journalism anymore but to always show you as the subject, lie as much as possible, and talk around the subject for half an hour to draw out the time.
I am so grateful I was not born in North Korea
16:22 Is he wearing a Nike polo shirt????
That’s a good observation! It sure is.
yes if your wealthy you have the right to wear polo adidas or nike in nk
Let’s all go to North Korea and experience it ourselves 😂
Touching video
same old journalism we've already seen every time they go in there. Cut it out
Naivity of journalists is everlasting...
Everything about this documentary is scary! North Korea isn’t a good place
I like the journalist. He did a good job asking sensitive questions and being considerate to the north koreans. So often other journalists ask "gotcha" questions where it is clear NK people would not be able to answer or risk endangering their family
I'm sure its all just for show
Just like Hunger Games movie...the elite live in the city.. the common people live outside.
