- Superb interview & performance! Larry talks about Hendrix, jazz guitar history, Alphonse Mouzon & more... Performance of "Blue Monk" & another piece that partially lays the groundwork of the tune "Bubba"-released several years later on the " Cause & Effect" CD with Steve Smith & Tom Coster. Enjoy!
"Miles wrote a piece for me, but I forgot the title." Now that's badass!!!!!
Larry did a gig at Keystone Korner and played electric. Great night.
His playing here is really something. Right in his prime he was here.
Beautiful to see this ~
I agree... What a great interview with Larry... This was great! So many great questions asked.... Wow! Thanks for sharing it!
This guy was an incredible musician, he seems a fun guy to be around as well!
I think, taken all round, Larry is my all-time favourite guitarist.
In terms of classical, jazz, fusion, swing, blues and all the rest, Larry straddled most guitar genres, but added so much of his unique character and creativity, whatever he played. His free improvisations were little miracles of spontaneous creativity.
I quite liked the twelve string he used for a while, as a different tonal flavour, but preferred him on six string models, especially of the Ovation variety.
A much missed musician.
Thank You for this ...
super interview ..!!
That Adamas 12 string hes playing sounds great.
. . . Nothing finer sounding - or better looking than an A D A M A S . Decades ahead of it’s time . Still is .
+JR Ellison - What can I say but... THANK YOU !!! The videos you've been uploading are phenomenal. Each day lately I've been finding and viewing these treasures. Larry Coryell has been (and continues to be) a strong influence on my musical directions (and more). The fact that you're sharing these here,,, well that tells me what a generous and thoughtful individual you are. Thank you again, Of course I had to subscribe to your youtube channel.
Best regards from Montreal Qc; Canada. -Glenn

At 11:48 the songs turns into "Bubba" from the 1998 "Cause and Effect" album he did with Steve Smith and Tom Coster. Great album!
