SIMPLIFYING SUNDAYS WHEN YOU HAVE LITTLE ONES // My New Saturday Night Routine
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 лип 2022
- Sundays often feel stressful. Plopping down in church feeling like the whole morning has been a marathon doesn’t quite set you up for having the most God focused church experience, not to add, I might find myself pacing the hall with a fussy nine month old half the time…
That being said, creating and doing these habits fairly consistently the last two months, has really cut down on the before church chaos and definitely made our Sunday mornings feel much more peaceful.
I hope you find these tips helpful as well, and please share any advice you have for making your Sundays more restful with small children.
Hugs!!!

We have the same exact thing for Sunday lunch each week. Summer sausage, crackers, carrots/ hummus, cheese slices, apple slices, olive. All cold, almost no prep and no complaints. And kids wear the same outfit each week, changing it up seasonally. It has saved so much sanity. Bless you for sharing this! Sundays at church can be stressful but are always worth it.
A tip I have for my kids which helps for my 3 boys, is to have “church clothes and shoes”. It is one outfit which they automatically know to wear and pick when I send my kids to dress. No one at church has ever said anything negative to me about my children wearing the same outfit every Sunday, nor have my children ever complained. It’s also good for laundry as I have a week to ensure they are clean ready for the next week. It also gives my 2 yr old a sense of accomplishment that he readied himself quickly in the morning by himself. 😊
I think that is super smart! :) thank you for sharing! ❤️
I love this tip! I want to implement this!
YES!! I have six children, and we do this, too. It eliminates my having to pick out clothes for them, and as you said, gives me a week to get everything clean and back in the drawers. (Each of my children have two Sunday outfits for a bit of variety.) Also, a further minimalist tip: my kids’ outfits are loosely “uniforms.” I chose a durable style of shoes in a matching color that can be handed down from sibling to sibling, and the same for tights. I have a color palette that works for my family, so everyone ends up coordinating (making family photos easy as a bonus!).
@@DansonforJoy Yes! We do this too. Especially with color coordinating clothes. For each I decide what color palette I want for the spring or fall holidays and their two nice outfits fall into that. So when the time comes they are nice and match and minimal stains. Ofcourse we always do shirts and dresses with a pattern because my kids are 2,3, and 4.
Great tips, even for just my husband and I who sometimes struggle to get out the door with no kids! 🤣
You have such a beautiful, kind, loving, gentle spirit and it is so encouraging to watch your videos. You encourage me to do better for the Lord ❤
Awe, thank you so much!:) that is very encouraging!:)
Hello! This was super helpful, I'm going to adapt putting needed items out Saturday eve.. hope you had a easeful and restful Sunday today.
So glad it was helpful!:)
Thank you for the video. I like the idea of setting the clothes out. That would help so much!
Thank you:) it really helps me:)
I'd like to appreciate you for all you're doing to get this content to us. I pray for more grace, may you be strengthed to keep these coming in Jesus name. May your home overflow with God's goodness and may your marriage always reflect God's glory. God bless you. I appreciate you
You are so kind! Thank you!!!:)
I don't go to church, but Saturdays and Sundays are my family days where we take it easy and spend time together as a family. I'm learning to be a housewife/Stay at home mom, and my mom can't teach me how to be one, so seeing other moms do their thing is so helpful. I'm only 19, so I am practicing now with helping my aunt and uncle with my young cousins when we see them, and the same goes for when my stepbrother is over, since he lives with his mom. It also helps that I also clean the house and have a written to do list to help me keep track.
This is so neat!:) way to go!:)
@@BecauseitMatters thanks!
Literally an answered prayer from this week. It's encouraging to not be alone and have some feeling of accountability to actually implement a couple more small routines for a truly restful sabbath. Thank you. The Lord brings more peace to our household through your channel
💛
Oh my goodness! You are so kind! Wow! Thank you and praise God! ❤️
It really makes it a lot less stressful if you have lunch ready! It is so easy to just go out but that gets so pricey every Sunday!!
Yes! I completely agree! ❤️
Such great tips! We implement the same ones 🥰.
That is awesome!:) ❤️
Yes! Love all these! As a momma to 4 (9,7,5,4) I agree on all of these!
-I always make sure the kids have bathed / showered the night before. This cuts down on issues the next day with getting ready and being clean 🧼! 😆
Also I try to get the boys hair checked on Saturday so they look good on Sunday! I cut their hair so Weather it’s a full cut or a trim it helps so much! 😊
Yes! The Saturday baths!!! I 100% agree!:)
I tell myself that it takes me 40 minutes to get to church when it really takes me 20 😅
Hey, that probably helps you not be late! ❤️
Your videos are always such a blessing to me. Such practical tips and as a new mom I will be implementing these for sure.
Awe, that makes me so happy! Thank you! ❤️❤️
❤ very helpful. Amen for restful Sundays 😊
So happy to hear that!:)
Great tips! Thank you for sharing!

@@BecauseitMatters you're very welcome!!!! 💛
Great tips!
Thank you!:)
I tried so hard to get us out the door on time this week we ended up having the wrong time for our service so we watched it online. But I am implementing most of these this week. Thank you 😊
Hey! Way to go trying though!:) ❤️❤️
Can I ask where you got your shirt? Love the colors!
Oh boy, I got it as a gift so I think it’s from Cabella’s. :)
If you don't mind me asking, where do you buy your Sunday dresses/clothes?
Basically all of it is thrifted. :)
What if interacting with a bunch of people isn't restful for you? I'm not saying "don't go to church" - not at all. But I know people get so...strict...about Sunday being the only day to have Sabbath. Me? I'd rather Tuesday....or Thursday...or any other day that's more likely to be restful and quiet! What do we introverts do with that?
Haha, I know what you mean. While I believe we are called as Christian’s to gather and encourage one another, I don’t find Sundays particularly restful either. My dream is to one day either very much cut down on Sunday activities, or else, like you mentioned, have a different day of the week be more restful and then have Sunday be church but not have super high rest expectations.
These tips would be great for more than just Sundays! However, I have found that even with the best intentions, it's still hard to get out the door with a baby 🤣
Do you have any tips for breastfeeding in public? That is something I can't seem to do very discreetly, but really want to master!
Oh boy, that is a difficult one! 😂 breast feeding has been much easier this round, then with my first baby. She cried and screamed and wouldn’t latch well.
With Cassie, (my second,) I just use a full wrap around nursing cover in public and that works pretty well:)
@@BecauseitMatters Thanks for the suggestion, I'm gonna try that! 😁
Just found your channel. Can we be friends? Lol we are so similar!
Haha!:) thank you! ❤️
