Hi, I'm Italian, I've seen a lot of videos of your repairs that normally no shopkeeper does, if there were still so many like you in italy especially pc hardware repairers, the general repairers of electronic products are disappearing, because people are conditioned by use and throwaway.

This kind of flash drive are now disappearing. The new ones now have all the components on one ic which makes it extremely hard to repair. Looking forward for the video which involves this new drive.

@@blackace69They make more money that way - the idea is to make repair as tough as possible and as a result they sell more, and it's all down to greed. Just look at the antics of Apple and John Deere as just two examples of making unofficial repairs almost impossible for certain components.

This kind of usb flash drive cost more . Thats why china is using cheap memory cards inside usb body case. Looks usb flash drive but instead inside its memory card. 😂

The only thing I would have done differently, is strain-relieved the wires on the board with Kapton tape. I'm a retired Tech, who was a Lab Admin for the team that gave you WiFi on your cell phones for the first time. I admire your approach...visual inspection first, power supply checks second. In general, the third thing I used to look for was clock, or something stuck in reset. Usually, as you know, the power supply tells the tale. Best wishes. --bd

There must be some highly classified data on that flashdrive, if someone wants a cheap drive recovered. Maybe it's better too store it in some cloudstorage like Onedrive or Google cloud.
But then again we won't be having this kind of repairvideos.

Or they realize their backup is bad only when needing their backup, or it is the drive with the crypto wallet from 2012 with 12 dollar bitcoins on it.
Google Cloud and Onedrive still is not affordable for 5TB of photos a wedding photographer/videographer does in their workflow per year.

IMO that is proof a flash drive is not a good idea for important file storage. I have had name brand drives like that go bad, usually the controller. Burning to M-DISC or even a spinning drive is better, and cloud too of course.

How's it going I would like to know if you can fix a motherboard that will not post in the dual channel slots when I got it from the manufacturer they said that it was a ram kit issue and I know it's not a ram kit issue because it also killed three other pairs of different brands of ram is there something you can do or suggest that might fix the motherboard killing ram kits? But the motherboard will only work in single channels and that's the only way it works and I don't know why.

As I watch these videos I often wonder if sending something in for repair makes sense vs attempting the repair yourself. As an example I have a VR controller that has a joystick issue. The cost of the controller cost $250 new because you can only buy them in pairs but the component to repair it cost a few dollars. I bought a set of new ones, but for $250 it seems like a repair would be worth the attempt as I would have a spare set. It's probably not worth sending in for a professional to do due to cost though. I am a hobbyist so watching these videos is good for learning techniques, even if I don't have all the professional tools. Kinda hoping I can manage one component though...

But my boss refused to buy me tools so I could do this work yet he would try to tell people we could do this work. -_- What i would have given for a good hot air station, solder station I had a good personal multi meter. Used to piss me off the amount Data recover places we sent out to would charge to F stuff up.
