I doubt that. For the agent it's little difference compared to what they get in total, and this is not just bigger risk, it also prolongs the whole thing, which means the agent actually gets less money per time spent. It's not the agent doing this.
Wow! what an amazing change, from "i struggled to start my repair business" to "i struggle to buy a 1.9M$ house"! Congratulation Ali, Alex. 😘 Everything is so easy when you show it, it only take, skills, experience, dedication, passion, etc... Keep the hard work, enjoy the reward 😊"Better than fActory!"🤗😘
It's a well-known fact that we entertain the same class level customer as the prices we charge. My favorite response to my "Life Hacker" customers was, "Sorry, it's not free".... and I was not shy about saying it, even in front of 15 people standing behind them in line....Customers are, what you teach them to be.
As someone who did $20 quotes (20 years ago) I can confirm, it'll end your business. The worst one was getting a win (which means actually repairing it) then the customer knocking back a $120 repair and saying "I'll just buy a new TV". So we removed parts or undid the repair, charged them $20 and lost money time and time again. The new one they bought at the time was likely not as good as the one they had. When there was thunderstorms the front of my shop was full of televisions and other damaged items, I should have been raking it in with quote fees, but instead we were set back weeks with angry customers on the phone. You should have heard the insurance company complaining when I changed my quotes to $40! They were not happy! I do I.T. now, but would I run a repair shop again today with the knowledge I have now? NO WAY! I hate STUPID customers and prefer my sanity.
Well said: stupid customers. Stupid, thinking they know all and on top of everything demanding that they are entitled to everything. They are the worse. I show them the door and hope to not see them and their kind ever again. Unfortunately, there's so many of them. Fortunately, my door works both ways and they can go right through the door they were coming through. To see them go brings me so much peace LOL
The image processing on that microscope is so impressive, you can see how it's trying to stabilize the clarity of the finer contrast details, eg. markings on chips, while also enhancing the illusion of depth perception, awesome equipment.
Real estate is like this all over the US. It's even like this on the east coast. I have been looking for a house since around COVID as well. Houses are going for way more than they're worth and people are still over bidding.
That repair was caused by the ground screw next to it was loose and arcing , and made high resistance to ground at that cap and high heat causing failure, I find a lot of arcing on the ground screws like that on these boards. Keep up the good videos Thank you😁
It's a joy for me to see that someone can afford to buy a 2M house. As big boss says bismillah before trying to turn on the device i say inshallah you will buy it.
It's a very common practice for a seller to list a house well under it's retail value in order to gain multiple competing offers. I admire anyone willing to stick it out in the cesspool California has become.
Good luck with getting the house. Will cross my fingers that you get it. Bidding on houses are shown many times here in Sweden to be scams. Houses been on the market for some time, noone interested. As soon as you call and give them a bid, several others pop up from nowhere and start bidding. Now we have a new law forsing the agents to show the byer who was bidding and how much. Thank you for sharing your house and repair journey.
I hope you get the home, Alex! I am sure you and your family would love to close that chapter in your lives. Thank you for the update on the "hot tweezers" and take care!!
there's a place in alaska where they post signs "don't throw food at the wolves", if a seller raises the price once i've accepted their price already twice, i'll go: my offer is now down to the original price, take it or leave it.
I agree with you about location. I’m a truck driver and have seen a lot of the country. I was born and raised in the central valley of California. California has it all. You live in an area that has everything in close proximity. 👍
I can say for sure, your prices are very reasonable. I was doing laptop repairs here in Las Vegas back in 2004 and we had about the same prices but we didn't even do SMD. Also, your parts and equipment prices are very competitive with Amazon and others.
Yup for sure. I spend most of my time on diagnostics. People don't realize what goes on behind scenes. Thanks for the cool video always learning from you, thank you so much!
the ironic thing is that laptops can now be the price you charge for repairs.. just the way it is.. but i fell in that trap fixing computers a few times ... people taking advantage of my good nature .. but i soon learned to harden up... I had one customer say to another oh he does it for nothing..??? since when ... .. your my best mate type thing so .. i just stopped ... i learnt that one...
Good job man those house people were def playing games hope u ended up getting that house buddy hard worker u deserve it goodluck and thank you for all the knowledge i watch all your videos now im buying all kinds of these tools and trying for myself greatly appreciated my friend.
It's the same with every industry, a final price always sounds expensive until you see what goes into it to generating that price. Customers never see the man hours, rent or insurances etc to run a business. They only ever compare your price to how much they earn & how much the item costs them to purchase.
We offered $250K over on a 1.3M house, all cash no contingencies. Winning bid was $350K over, also all cash, no contingencies. Meh, it is what it is. Also, you never lost it if you never had it.... I too am staying in CA, as I have year round mountain biking 5-10minutes away, with good double blacks.
Amazing....funny I was thinking to myself ( do you sell those hot tweezers) as you were installing the new cap and then you mentioned about testing hot tweezers stations to sell. 😉👍 I need one cause i was replacing a blown cap on a IPHONE and IWATCH charging station ( without microscope) and it went into the 3rd dimension 😂 . This cap was so tiny....crazy. I love all your vids and it's nice to see how a wonderful dad you are letting your kids be a part of your family business... keep those vids coming. 🤠
I have found if the Battery is disconnected it requires it to be plugged in with charger to turn on, found this procedure changing HD's, I appreciate the work you do and your presentations R-10+
As extreme as it sounds, it is pretty normal out here in California and that is very unfortunate. I think I remember seeing a 2 million dollar house in Puerto Rico or something and it was right on the beach and looked like Tony Sarks house from Ironman it was that big and impressive.
i was born in california, lived there for awhile. i don't live there anymore and would never live there again but i agree with you it is an amazing state and i understand why you'd want to live there
In which year of your business establishment did you start applying this detection fee? I think this is not possible for start-up businesses, or do you think this should always be the case?
I try not to give prices at all over the phone I tell them I can let you know more about pricing information in person if they aren't local I tell them a few examples like a price range but I can't he crazy specific since I haven't diagnosed it.
Based on that conversation, it seems like you chose a really good real estate agent. They are confident without being rude and communicate everything to you very well.
I wonder if that new Luxary tax is going to move to other areas, I heard of LA, and that its on homes more than 5 million, But i wonder if this tax will move to lower cost homes in the range your shopping. Just something that would worry me over time.
2:28 I definately agree as an Indian. We here if have bad laptop's, in most of the cases from a local it costs us about 30 to 50 bucks for a fully functional laptop. It's free for a repair attempt in most cases However if they can not fix it, the will extract expensive parts sometimes.
my friend went through a similar experience when trying to buy a home . patience won for my friend. he bought a house 10 doors down that was a better property and a lower price!

If you would slowly but religiously write the experiences and new tricks that you learn from repairing just asus laptops alone, I feel like you could write a book about it. Something like "a technician's guide to repairing asus laptops". The sudden click you get when you first inspect the board and know 9/10 what the problem is is very interesting to see. Real estate broker commission for the ddeal is percentage of the price right? If he/she decides to milk you, even property owner can't do anything against it.

If $85 is not much in the US then it also should not be anywhere else in the world. Why is the value of the dollar still so high? Something does not add up.
Land prices in California don't appear to be out of line with other states. Building materials are high right now, but even if you had to ship materials from out of state, why can't you just build a house instead of paying these elevated prices?

Apart from a few more 0.4mm stencils for DDR6 I have absolutely everything I want. Maybe a little bit more 0.4mm leaded balls needed too but that's it 😂.
its the agents that want to make more money not the owners
Exactly. I'm a liar and since I'm a liar I can tell if you're lying.
Exactly
I agree. When Alex was explaining the added $50,000, my first thought was the agent saw a way to make a quick buck.
Actually a good part of it is California regulations and the idiots in the government making other issues.
I doubt that. For the agent it's little difference compared to what they get in total, and this is not just bigger risk, it also prolongs the whole thing, which means the agent actually gets less money per time spent. It's not the agent doing this.

I have the newest red version and it's almost too good!
It's interesting hearing about the California housing through you, would definitely continue watching the vlogs if you continue to do them
$85 is a great price actually. It cost $150 (or more) per hour to take your car to a mechanic.

2 million dollars for a house? For that kind of money it'd better revolve around the sun and cook me breakfast, lunch and dinner.
As extreme as it sounds, it is pretty normal out here in California and that is very unfortunate. I think I remember seeing a 2 million dollar house in Puerto Rico or something and it was right on the beach and looked like Tony Sarks house from Ironman it was that big and impressive.
@@Ryan_DeWittfacts. there are other states with good weather and stuff and houses that don't cost 2 million usd, or cost that amount but be better
For clarification; all houses indeed revolve around the sun.
Yes, here in Orange County, CA-Newport Beach area, 2 million gets you maybe 3 bedrooms.
It’s amazing what people pay for concrete, timber, sheetrock, windows and shingles.
i was born in california, lived there for awhile. i don't live there anymore and would never live there again but i agree with you it is an amazing state and i understand why you'd want to live there
WOW, you and big Boss have great and amazing hand too. Thanks for sharing your video my idol Alex
Where do you inject the voltage for thermal testing?
Thanks,
Where do you inject the voltage? Directly on power mosfet or simply plug in the power cord. Sorry im learning from you.
In which year of your business establishment did you start applying this detection fee? I think this is not possible for start-up businesses, or do you think this should always be the case?
Same thing you must do as a mechanic. I cannot give a estimate for a new customer unless I evaluate the vehicle.
I enjoy hearing your life stories thanks for sharing hope you get the house
For a competent fix or attempt your prices are great! Very fair.
I really like your attitude toward California. I agree 100%. I would love to get back to San Marino, but for now I'm stuck in Oregon.
I try not to give prices at all over the phone I tell them I can let you know more about pricing information in person if they aren't local I tell them a few examples like a price range but I can't he crazy specific since I haven't diagnosed it.
the house video visiting was nice, you need to do again.
Based on that conversation, it seems like you chose a really good real estate agent. They are confident without being rude and communicate everything to you very well.
Hi Alex,
Crazy in asking a selling price and than going up, usually should go down not up😅
Do it again!!! We enjoyed the vibe in searcing for homes😊
I like your channel . It is very valuable, I can see how inflated US dollars have little value. Thank you.
Please update when you get the answer!
Another great video. Appreciate the diversion and transparency with the real estate situation. Hope you find a house soon!
I wonder if that new Luxary tax is going to move to other areas, I heard of LA, and that its on homes more than 5 million, But i wonder if this tax will move to lower cost homes in the range your shopping. Just something that would worry me over time.

Is there a way to learn what the valur of the capacitor is? How can we know what to replace it with?
Measure it from another board
Or replace same size one
Of all the laptops you see and repair, is there any brand that stands out for quality and reliability??
Great work from your realtor, please share his details as he seems a good one ☝ hope you get it Alex , trust me UK is no better

Real estate broker commission for the ddeal is percentage of the price right? If he/she decides to milk you, even property owner can't do anything against it.
Tell them how it is man your videos amaze me of the skill shown
Any update on the house?
here in Tuscany we do the opposite. We lower the price requested from the seller, and wins who cuts less from that price
