I ended up with neuropathy from chemo. It was bad enough that I would lie awake for hours every night because my entire body felt like I had been dipped in napalm and set on fire. My hands and feet were numb. Gabapentin had unpleasant effects on my brain (predominantly memory issues) so I needed to stop taking it just to keep from causing myself harm. I would forget to eat, sleep, take medicine, bathe, everything. I couldn't get through a single sentence without forgetting what I was saying, and why.
After stopping the Gabapentin, I suffered the effects of the neuropathy for about a month and a half before my memory cleared enough that I could think. Then did some research. I started taking benfothiamine, alpha-lipoic acid, and glutamine. I wasn't expecting it to take effect quickly... and it didn't, but it still kicked in faster than expected. Two weeks after starting, the nightly firestorm shortened down to two hours. Two weeks after that, I started feeling my fingers and the nightly trial had been reduced to about 45 minutes.
Within 8 weeks, the neuropathy had disappeared from my hands completely and I could feel most of my feet. The nightly fires had mostly disappeared. I still get occasional flareups, but they're often mild enough that I can sleep through it and only notice if I happen to be awake when they set in. At worst, it wakes me up for about half an hour.
The only permanent issue is a noticeable reduction in sensation in the front part of my foot from the ball to the side just behind the little toe. The bottoms of the toes themselves also have reduced sensation, but less noticeably. I'll probably have that for the rest of my life.
After 2 years, I was diagnosed with cancer again. I started the protocol even before I started chemo again. The neuropathy never got any worse. I think that if I had started this stuff before the first round of chemo, I wouldn't have had any permanent damage at all.

i am male 73 yo,, I had a hemmoragic stroke 1 year ago.. i dropped to the floor like a bag of sand.. i went unconscious for only a couple of seconds an realised what happened.. i was able to call my wife who sat me up straight and got me to hospital within the hour.. no idea what happened there as i blanked out for 3 days..when i came to properly. i realised my whole left side was paralysed.. i c ould still speak.. but not clearly.. i returned home after a week in ICU.. i was bedridden.. a family friend knew of a Japanese product called
SOP( salmon Ovary peptide) Subaraci which helped him a lot.. so nothing to lose..
i tried it.. i was up and around in 5 days.. no paraylasis.. no pain.. .. i continued to improve and after 2 weeks i was back on the football team.. well no.. but i was completely normal.. for 6 months.. then I started getting tingling down my left side.. my left foot went totally numb on the bottom.. and pain.. oh yeah Pain in my left leg..the doc put me on a standard Antidepressant for the nerve pain.. it worked quite well.. but i started researching how to actually regenerate the damaged Brain cells and also stop the pain without drugs. So now
I take a product called Nervine.. it has Thiamine Nitrate 100 mg, Pyradoxine HCL 200 Mg and Cyanocobalamine. 200Mcg. I take 1 am and 1 pm.. also Alpha Lipoic Acid the NON R version.. as they are quite expensive.. also Vit D,K2.. along with Lions Mane Muschroom powder and Red Palm Oil.. all combined these meds cost only about $10-15 a month.. the pain has gone completely after ony 2 weeks.. My left arm and shoulder which had a lot of pain.. now Zero.. My leg pain is almost pain free and even the Numbness under my foot is going away. .. I am writing this to let you know.. try the Alpha Lipoic non R variety first before you dish out $60 a bottle.... Best wishes to all sufferers.. hope you all find a way to regain normal health..

Keto is a real pain in the a**. I tried and I found it hard to keep up. For your lower back pain try vitamin d3 and k2. You can look around the internet for dosages but d3 5000iu and k2 (mk7 form) 250mg are the best dosages. If it is really bad I would double that dosage. This will also start to reduce plaque in your arteries. I'm taking x5 the dosage to clear arteries. X3 in the morning and x2 at night. I can feel it work.

I have diabetic neuropathy that has caused weakness and numbness in my fingers. It's distressing because I'm a guitar player. I've dissolved benfotiamine in DMSO, the safe, ultra skin penetrant .I've had great esults from doing the same with pirenzepine, the FDA approved ulcer medication that has shown the ability to reverse peripheral neuropathy as published in peer reviewed journals. It's a beak through drug that not only has shown wonderful results with animal models but is now in clinical trials at several major labs. One can buy pirenzepine from Japan and it's cheap.

    • @rhal2930

I would love to know how to mix the two ( pirenzepine & DMSO) together. Such as how many mg pirenzepine to how much DMSO ? Is there a website that shows this ? I also play the guitar and love writing songs. But my neuropathy has now moved to my hands and as you have said its distressing to say the least.. If you could help me with the mixture of the two you would be making the day of a fellow guitar player . Thanks so much for your post.
Also I take nicotinamide Riboside 300mg a day. Does anyone know if this will interfere with the Benfotiamine if I choose to take that also ? Thanks again.

James: I am a Nurse Practitioner in the US with 25 years of experience. I am also a patient with spinal stenosis. I started out with thigh pain that I couldn't explain, then developed back pain. My symptoms got so bad that I was having trouble walking. I had extensive surgery which relieved the pain for 8 months. Now I have pain in my back and below my knees. I wish I could offer something more. I know some patients have benefited from additional surgery (Tiger woods had 5) but I wouldn't do that again. Find a good physiatrist or neurologist before deciding on surgery. Good luck.

@@miteshjain3561 Thank you. . The only medicine that seems to alleviate the pain is Gabapentin (Neurontin) but only to some degree.. there is also Lyrical, but not everybody can get along with it as many side affects.. I find that Gabapentin is best for me and little side affects.. One should not suddenly stop taking as the pain will return with a vengeance. I hope this helps.. Also the new stem cell treatment may help , but this treatment is very new and I haven't yet tried , however it has helped my shoulder and recent neck pain , so my doctor will give it a try for my back when I visit again next week.. The treatment is said to be revolutionary and not so expensive in Turkish hospitals. I am an English man living in Türkiye and I'm not sure of the cost in Europe or the USA

The company below is in South Africa and they sell it. I bought mine 10 days ago but you need a prescription from a doctor. I asked the doctor for a 6 months repeat. They are not cheap do I bought 3 for now which should last me for 6 month (120 per botlle) 300mg and I'm going to use the same prescription before the 6 months is through to buy another 3 bottle. Make sure to take it with alpha lipioc acid for better effect. My nerves are definitely function better and I've only been taking it for a week.

I live in Canada and I order this from "iHerb". They are in the United States and deliver to over 150 countries. The website says they deliver to South Africa. Their prices are very good and I can order things I can't get in Canada. Certain things may be listed on their website, but if it's a banned product in your country they may or may not complete the order. I can buy all different forms of potassium in powder or crystals from iHerb, but in Canada you can only buy potassium in 99mg pills. However, they won't sell me vitamin D3 in anything over 1000iu because, for whatever reason, that's the maximum dose you are allowed to sell in Canada.

Terrible drug. So hard to get off. Did nothing for the pain but helped me sleep. If you’re going to drink a lot ( bad idea), then EAT a lot , even if it’s just leafy green vegetables.
