    My husband is a type 2 diabetic. He takes 300mg of benfotiamine a day and 200mg of Thiamine twice a day.
    Also magnesium, zinc, Bcomplex and choline.
    At his latest test his A1C was 5.9 (prediabetic range) and he is no longer on any insulin or diabetic meds.
    He has modestly cut carbs but still is quite carb heavy.
    Benfotiamine was a game changer.

      Nutritional yeast is a great way to add b vitamins into food you're already eating. It's cheap, it smells like cheese, has only a mild cheese flavor and can be sprinkled on or mixed with almost anything.
      I add a tablespoon a day to at least one meal sometimes two and since I also cut way down on carbs, i don't have peripheral neuropathy anymore unless I over eat desserts around holidays.
      I also got my diabetes under control and don't need medication for it anymore after going low carb and losing 100 pounds.
      Anyway, if he's still having issues or wants b vitamin variety, look into nutritional yeast, you can get a tub of flakes relatively cheap and you only need a tablespoon or two a day.

So I need to take way more than the average person. Hello Doctor! You are definitely one of the finest and caring person. I have yet to see another Doctor on UA-cam answering as many questions as you do to your followers, obviously I have become one of your loyal fans.
    I am getting blisters on my fingers non stop, diabeticorum ., I am a long time diabetic who was an alcohol abuser. Obviously, peripheral neuropathy to almost final stage on my fingers and toes. Amputated my right toes few months ago.
    I see connections of my blisters with diabetes and nerves damage. Is there a solution for treatment? Sadly I live in Indonesia, not in the States. Otherwise will jump on a consultation in a heartbeat! Thanks in advance and apologize for being lengthy!

    • @NerveDoctors
      @NerveDoctors  Рік тому +23

      Hi Stanley. Thank you so very much for your kind words. It means so much to us and thanks for being a LOYAL FAN!! Now, let's address your question because you certainly need guidance. Yes, there's absolutely a solution and we certainly want to make sure you don't lose any more digits or limbs for that matter. Usually, when I see diabetes of this nature (bullous diabeticorum) it's because the glucose levels have run awry with little to no control. The fact that you consumed copious quantities of alcohol would certainly play a significant role. BTW...BIG CONGRATULATIONS for giving up the alcohol! That is no easy task and you should be very proud of yourself. So, the first and most important thing is to lower your hemoglobin A1C and your glucose levels and maintain them at a healthy level. The best way you can do that is by following a ketogenic diet, as well as taking the following supplements berberine, and a good quality nerve support formula that contains R-ALA, B6 (in the form of Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate, B12 in the form of methylcobalamin, benfotiamine, folate (5-MTHF or Quatrefolic), L-citrulline and acetyl l carnitine. These supplements all have a ton of research studies showing that they can improve insulin sensitivity, decrease glucose levels and assist in nerve repair. Also, L-citrulline improves NO production to improve circulation and Acetyl L Carnitine has been proven to protect the nerves from further damage or limit the ongoing damage due to elevated glucose and any other neurotoxin your nerves may be exposed to. Because of the severity of your problem and the long-standing time frame, most likely you will also need to use photobiomodulation.
      I'm including a couple of links to my videos that you should watch will help you get a better understanding.
      1. Is diabetic neuropathy reversible (pt 1): ua-cam.com/video/ks-WJD3WOjs/v-deo.html

      Also, I just want to let you know that Dr. Coppola and I have formulated NUPHORIA cm Gold and Blue nerve support formulas to address the issues I mentioned above. It contains all of the necessary ingredients in the correct amounts as outlined in clinical studies (we do ship to Indonesia). Here's the link: healmynerves.com/collections/nerve-support/products/nuphoria-cm-gold-blue-bundle
      Lastly and most importantly, we do telephone or Zoom consults around the world for people like yourself. If you would like to schedule a consult with us you can email us at: info@nuphoria.com and my assistant will give you more information about it.
      Well, I believe I've written a book (lol). I truly hope this information gets you on the right path and restores your hope. Stanley, you don't have to live with this condition or lose more toes, so please don't accept that as your fate. We're here for you. BLESSINGS!!

      Hi P Larkin. I agree with you that everyone (especially those not consuming a healthy, low -carb, well balanced diet) should take an overall B-Complex. However, when you're battling a neurological condition, a B-complex isn't going to do the trick because it will not contain the correct doses for nerve repair. Now, do I recommend still taking a B-Complex while taking a nerve support formula or additional Benfotiamine or methylcobalamin, absolutely. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

      If you take 600mg of benfothiamine a day, this is equivalent to about 2400mg thiamine. This huge amount of B1 will require some additional B vitamins (they work as a team) and magnesium. But you might not need this amounts of B1 - depends of the problem you have. You might need only B12 or B9 plus B12, always in their bioavailable forms. But you are right, it is very complicated. It took me years to aquire some basic knowledge so that I can help my two autistic grandsons. But it was worth learning.

I just remind you that I have been using r alpha lipoic acid 600mg for a month and a half daily..and my improvement is slow One day I will be better, and one day I will be tired from tingling and burning in the body. What is the reason? ??

    • @NerveDoctors
      @NerveDoctors  2 роки тому +13

      First, let me address the pain levels being up and down...this is normal as your nerve begin to heal. The symptoms will not steadily lessen daily. Here's an example of how pain levels decrease. Let's say your symptoms get as high as a 9/10 (10 being the highest pain level possible). As your nerves heal, one day your pain level may drop to a 7/10 for the day, but then the next 4-5 days it will be backup to a 9/10. Then 2 weeks later it may drop to a 6/10. This volley will go back and forth until there's been substantial repair in the nerve. Once there's been substantial repair then your symptom levels will drop and stay down and continue to decrease. Next, let me address your progress being slow...First, we know that nerves are the slowest healing tissue in the body and 1.5 months is not a long time. Even for mild neuropathy cases, it can take up to 8 months to 1 year before the nerve is healed. However, when I'm working with my patients, I never just place them on R-Alpha Lipoic Acid by itself. I always place them on a combination of R-ALA, Benfotiamine, Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate (B6), Methylcobalamin (B12), Folate , L-Citrulline and Acetyl L Carnitine. This combination, in therapeutic doses, will produce the best results. Watch my video: Vital Nutrients for Nerves. This will give you more information. HI Kelly. It hurts my heart when I read things like this. I've treated several pediatric cases with severe eczema. One case was so severe, the child's parents had tube socks on both arms to prevent her from scratching and tearing at her skin. Whenever you're dealing with skin problems like eczema (or psoriasis) you are always dealing with a Leaky Gut Issue. So, the first thing is get your grandson off of all GLUTEN, CORN, SOY, AND DAIRY. Also get him off of all processed foods. Next, his gut needs to be healed and this isn't a quick and easy step. I would start with Amy Meyers Leaky Gut Revive. He will also need a probiotic and I would put him on colostrum to rebuild his immune system. This will also help with his allergies. This is the starting point. I would find a functional medicine (FM) doc close to you to oversee your grandson's progress. Here's the link: ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/?
      Blessings to you and your grandson.💖

    I was diagnosed with non-diabetic peripheral neuropathy in both feet in 2002. The only feedback I have ever received has been that it is not known what is the cause and that it will likely never get worse……but it will never get better.
    I have been taking .5 mg of klonopin for over 20 years now to permit me to sleep due to the burning, restless and tingling feet.
    In general, is your experience that with the passage of such a long time, are the nerves able to regenerate at all at this point, or to a smaller degree?
    Thank you for your video and for educating us on this topic. I stay away from synthetic vitamins but now I learn something useful today of a synthetic form that will likely not harm.
    Thank you for your help.

      Hi Robert. This is commonly the old, outdated information still being handed out by most docs. So, we've treated PN cases that have been 20 years ongoing and more and yes, it's still possible to repair and regenerate these nerves. It just takes longer. Typically for cases like yours, we recommend a complete nerve support along with Photobiomodulation. Here are a few videos we filmed to help educate you on this:

    … hello doc- my sincere question is- what supplementation can benefit someone who is a sufferer of cerebral spinal fluid leakage?… also with bone spurs/osteoarthritis being a likely contributor(s) to the leakage problem?

    • @NerveDoctors
      @NerveDoctors  Рік тому

      Hi Joe. It's difficult for me to answer this question without knowing the cause of your CSF. Trauma? Injury? Spinal tap/lumbar puncture? Malformation of inner ear? Normally most leakages will heal on their own. Hydration is extremely important. In general, vitamins C and E has been shown to increase CSF levels and reduces CSF lipid peroxidation (this is caused by oxidants attacking your lipids). Hope this at least gets you off to a start. Blessings.

    HOWEVER, you speak so fast and your screen with the lists moves so fast, that it's very hard to follow you or take notes. Why not slow down?
    You really need to know that you are not speaking to medical students, you are speaking to average people, some of us are seniors, and your pace is way too fast to absorb without replaying the video a few times. Do these supplements actually heal the nerves or do you need to continue to take them forever?

    • @NerveDoctors
      @NerveDoctors  Рік тому +4

      Hi Johnny. Clinical studies have shown that these nutrients actually help with repair and regeneration of the damaged peripheral nerves. Along with that, I've been using them for 18 years on my patients with tremendous results. No, you don't have to be on them for the rest of your life. However, if you have a precipitating factor causing your PN like diabetes or if you're taking medications that cause Peripheral nerve damage like statins, calcium channel blocker (for blood pressure), diuretics, etc. Then I always recommend that my patients stay on a maintenance dose (which is half the amount) to prevent the PN from returning.

    I am in UK, i am prediabetic and have fibromyalgia i have horrible electric shock pains that travel through my body randomly day and night..and i also get buzzing feelings. I read up about Benfotiamine about a year ago and decided that it was worth a go..so i have taken 300mg daily ever since i actually get some days without the electric shocks now but if i stop taking it they come back full strength. I was nervous to increase the dose as a year ago there wasnt much info on Benfotiamine. Does it have any side effects from taking it long term?

    Hi Doc. Great videos! Glad I found you!!!
    I have a simple question. I have Diabetes and Hypothyroidism. I take Jardance and NP Thyroid. I have started a mild onset of neuropathy in the bottoms of my feet. I want to take Benfotiamine and R-Alpha Lipoic Acid to stop the neuropathy before it advances. Is it possible to take them together? I’ve read the study about ALA interfering with the T4 to T3 production. I take the NP Thyroid first thing in the a.m. and Benfotiamine and ALA in the evening. What do you recommend?

    • @NerveDoctors
      @NerveDoctors  Рік тому +1

      Hi Jeff. First of all I applaud you for being pro-active. Given your diabetes and thyroid condition, you will need a more complete nerve support supplement. Watch these 2 videos:
      1) Vital nutrients for nerve repair: ua-cam.com/video/wPruq49-ksU/v-deo.html
      2) The Right Dose: ua-cam.com/video/dKMPMPJM4JY/v-deo.html
      You'll need all the ingredients I outline here at the doses I indicate, which is what's been established by clinical studies.
      Also, when taking R-ALA while on a thyroid medication, you must wait 4 hours after taking the thyroid medication before taking the R-ALA, so that it does not interfere with the meds.
      Lastly, it's important for you to follow a ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. This will significantly help with your insulin resistance. Blessings.
