Hey Josh, I'm a few years out from buying but I appreciate the effort you put into these walk through for us. Always a good time to look at an RV with the cool Uncle
As a 316RLS owner I have to say you nailed it about the outlets down by the floor at the sofa. My experience is it's not always a light as in this video and bending over and finding the plugs looks very inconvenient (mine are up on the wall, very convenient). Overall a nice looking rig. Keep up the good work.
Glad to see no glass cabinets and glass pantry. Just my opinion. Again with the working space on both sides of the stove top a plus. As for grease splash just put a cutting board behind it. Love the nice window behind the stove top. Really like the light colors. Coffee bar area is always a plus for us. Love all the windows. Pocket doors are a plus. That shower is really nice. No countertop in bathroom kind of a bummer. The linen cabinet is a plus. Really like the bedroom. Can actually make the bed and the slide wardrobe is a plus. The window above the bed is nice as well as the nightstands. Outside storage is good. All in all very nice unit. Thank you again Josh for sharing this. 😊👍
I've been fulltiming in my 2022 290RLS for 18 months now. Glad to see they are going tankless (it's on our list of upgrades), Almost anything I don't like about our rig is little nitpicky stuff like the fact that that beautiful picture window over the bed is closed most of the time because it's pretty big hot/cold leak when in less than ideal temps, or that there is no propane QC so I have to carry an additional LP bottle with me for the Blackstone (although being a 22 I'm glad I didn't have one because so many troubles with that QC recall) . I would 100% by this rig to live fulltime in again if given the choice. I love my little castle on wheels. Thanks for the video, Josh, I just love your format and the hubby and I wait for you to drop a new video like we wait for episodes of our favorite shows!
We've watched a couple of other reviewers for models that you don't have. I gotta say, entertainment factor aside, no one we've seen is more knowledgeable. Thanks for all your hard work.
Very nice Cougar, love the tow mode access, north/south bed and location of the washer dryer. Thank you Uncle J. I know its a year old but i noticed the thumbs up button was not smashed...
This may be my favorite 5th wheel so far. When I do get one I don't want a 40 footer, something closer to 30 but also is good for full time or extended trips and has washer/dryer. Nothing is perfect, but this one is close to it for me. Thanks Josh!
Oh YAY, there's my favorite square tub/shower with a seat!!! I LOVE it!!! The ONLY thing that I would do is to put in a window in the bedroom on the drivers side, but, that is ALL!! 😍 Thank you my friend for sharing! 🖒🖒
❤ I love this camper! I love the location of the washer/dryer! This seems to be a much better idea than trying to cram it in an upper deck without a bedslide, like a lot of other manufacturers are doing. I really can't find anything negative about this one personally. Thanks Josh!
Good one, Josh. I don't like having to make a choice between washer/dryer and pantry. It would be hard to full time in this with the lack of bedroom storage. It's a nice unit, though. The living area is very nice. I would also like a bit more cargo capacity.
The only thing I don't like is if you opt for a W&D you lose the only pantry. They should consider offering a pantry in place of the coffee bar as an option. Well, OK, two things. The door next to the awning arm, Seriously, someone come up with a magnetic shield you can stick to the awning arm to divert the water away.
And just so ya know, you do a 200% awsome job at what you have been doing there buddy Rowe. So stay safe and continue on, cause we ALL LOVE YA BROTHER JOSH W. THANKS BISH WE LOVE YOUR .MAN J.W.!!!!!
Josh, a little off topic for this video so I apologize. we recently purchased a Geo-Pro 20bhs new out here in CO and the dealer is trying to talk us into a "Nanocure" protection upgrade to protect our exterior, awning, and interior surfaces. We are being told it will last 7 years. I am unable to find many reviews to see if this is worth the money or not. Your thoughts would be greatly apprecieated!
Hey Josh this us a very nice Rv fifth wheel. Just don’t like the flooring under dinette. Everything else is nice.. Glad you showed this in the short as well as the long. Thank you Josh! See you soon! Stay warm!
The only call out I have on this one is they could have put an access door on the poop side slide to utilize the space behind the fireplace. Rockwood is really good about that.
I have a 22rbs and the windshield is the best AC you can have, problem is you don't want one in the winter! So much cold air bleeds thru this thing. I'm not positive but the tread pattern on the Goodyears looks identical to the Trailer King blow out machines!
I'm really starting to dig these north south bed setups more then the east west.. I'm no engineer, but I am a clown with a sawzall.. But if your handy Andy, I bet you could cut the nightstands back to the little triangle shelf edge, trim the doors and you could jerry rig a camp king, if not a full one in there. Yes you'd have upper cupboard overhang slightly, but I could live with that .. But it would take some work, but if you need the room so you don't wake up bruised and battered for snoring too loud...opps, I'm a clown, I just saw it in Road mode.. Won't work... 😂 I'll put my saw away now... . I really like it as it sits, tho
What's funny... I feel the same. The N/S bedrooms are actually growing on me more and more. Weirdly more room to walk around the bed, better side stands.. and heck.. less length/weight/cost to deal with
Wow....combo washer/dryer....marble look in shower is yucky....the new 2024 smaller Brinkley is awfully nice and the wife really liked it....I'll have to check for a washer/dryer....
Love this Fifth wheel. But I went to my local Dealer to look at in person and was SO disappointed the build Quality was like they don’t have any kind of quality control. Trim was falling down cabinet doors put on crooked. Really for 65k they need to do better.
Nice interior colours.. Turn the bed sideways into the slide. Full front closet area. Front window gone. I like the length of the 5th wheel. I would need 8 lug , 7k axles under it. I like that fridge ! Spare tyre under the unit , behind the axles.. thanks
Do you think that mfgs will start moving away from the tri-glass shower doors and move to the self-cleaning roll-up doors? I would much prefer that type of door, both for weight savings and glass breakage.
Love the entire floorplan, the ladder, solar, double awning, 12V fridge, porcelain toilet and great shower👍now if they would just pretend that they are a Montana and stop putting cheap Dollar Store 4” fart fans in their $70,000 RVs☹️
Thanks for the informative video, although, I regard the tankless heater as a downgrade to save space and weight. It's difficult to judge the quality of workmanship from a video, but, inverted outlet labels not being applied straight is not encouraging, and neither is junk hanging in the left front wheel well. The "skilled Amish craftsman" are notorious for not using SOP's, templates or jigs, and the results are not always consistent. I experienced a rash of corrections that had to be made to my Montana.
Not a fan of kitchen islands, would prefer overhead cabinets and a sink near the stove instead of the fridge and move fridge where pantry is - and pantry where the coffee bar is / a free floating dining table - I need a place for two bird cages and a larger pull out couch no end tables - and induction stove top w convection otherwise nice rig
I believe the big cougars are using Accu-slide for its floor flush capabilities in seating situations. I know you're referencing the kitchen but they tend to use the same thing across the board They've been updating stuff lately so it wouldnt hurt for our folks to check for you
Hi Josh, Been watching your videos on Cougar, Artic Fox and Grand Design Solitude. Wondering if you would share some info on which of these you feel has the best build quality. We will be shopping in a few years. Have recently attended the Seattle RV Show and checked some models from each of these manufacturers.
for me i would like to see the price get lower so i can afford a new rv. under 35 ft. set up for boon docking. say 600-800 solar. room for “lots” of battery storage. built in? or on rear hitch gen. larger more rear lights. as fools do not watch were they drive.
Here’s the issue with the white in a Cougar - it’s like a wallpaper type product that peels off. It very quickly started to curl up in my last Cougar. Very annoying & looks bad very quickly. That closet needs to be revamped. Clothes don’t hang well at all. Agree with your closet comments. Not a fan. Thank you again. Oh & I do greatly greatly appreciate the Road Mode!!
What year was your cougar? What you're describing has nothing to do with the color of the surface wrap. They went thru a window where their supplier was providing them with bad adhesive It wasn't just cougar. It wasn't just keystone. Multiple builders were affected. It's a known recall on affected models that Keystone is covering despite it actually being a supplier related issue
@@JoshtheRVNerd Oh. Interesting. I just figured it was how it was applied & just wasn’t very good. It was a 2022. I gave it up for a van (which I quickly regretted & have since moved away from that). Thanks. If /when I figure out what I am doing I’ll keep that in mind. It had me avoiding the Keystone white but now I can keep looking. I did really like the Keystone. Also interesting the info you provided on the heat resistance of Keystone. Thank you.

Just above the side stands on the rear wall is the ideal spot in my view
On my 2022 290RLS the plugs are above the stands and I like it better than them being down by the floor.
Congrats on your 316. We are in the 316 purchase process, your thoughts on if we should consider the 290rls instead.

lol thanks for smashing it
Ever since you showed us those slick floor vents in the 23MLE, I keep looking for them in all the new Cougars.
Some of these were actually recorded before I got that 23MLE video - I pushed a bunch of pre-recorded stuff back to get the new models out sooner
I really like this unit. I would move the spare tire to under the rear so that a generator can be added.
This may be my favorite 5th wheel so far. When I do get one I don't want a 40 footer, something closer to 30 but also is good for full time or extended trips and has washer/dryer. Nothing is perfect, but this one is close to it for me. Thanks Josh!

Good about shade in door bottom to top 👍 Thanks for all info!
I really like this, but why a double sink in kitchen?
Some folks like it? I prefer the farm sink but it wouldn't stop me
Nice profile pic btw :)
Takes me back... now I wanna watch wacky races lol :)
Uncle Mort always says that Aunt Ethel challenges the GVW of his tow vehicles.
We prefer this bedroom layout much more than the bed in the slide too.

Thanks so much for the great tour full of information. I love this model.
Thanks for watching!
I love it and thank you!!!
The only call out I have on this one is they could have put an access door on the poop side slide to utilize the space behind the fireplace. Rockwood is really good about that.
Rockwood IS good about that. You're right
Alliance is good for that slide open drawer access
Even a swing-out fireplace mount would work I think

I like this one too Josh. Does it have on demand hot water?
Yes! Cougar has swapped to on demand systems

Not sure what there is to explain specific to the system apologies

Northwood is hands down built more heavy duty in my view
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you for this insight.
Hey there nerd, is this a wide body unit? Ive done some research online and was unable to find an answer to that question. Thank you!
They are not. 8ft standard body
Can the breeze window by the stove actually open?? I checked the 290rls unit in person and couldn't find a way to open it.. maybe it's just me..
I don't believe that window opens. Some folks like a non-opening window there so you don't have a screen collecting grease
