    25 Things to do in Barcelona, Spain | Top Attractions Travel Guide Video Transcript:
    This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.
    It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.
    Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.
    Well, so what did you think of the city?
    It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.
    And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. As always, if you have any suggestions of things to do around town, feel free to add them in the comments below. And if you want to catch our latest travel videos, don't forget to hit subscribe!

    Sagrada familia is still under construction because Antoni Gaudi himself stated that the church can only be constructed with the money donated by private donors and citizens and not with public money, so we are still respecting his will.

    I've been to Barcelona, Spain. I went by myself, I was only 19. I toured the whole city by foot, metro, bus, and rollerblades (I had brought them from the US) The only time I experienced something unnatural was when I decided to go visit a club by myself downtown closer to the beach area. It wasn't so great tbh and on the way back home towards Catalan, I'd taken a metro. the blue line, Line 5. Mind you this was like 3 AM. There were still a good amount of people on the metro as if night-life were always that lit. So I got comfortable and I stood on the metro as if I were taking the red line from DC to MD. I was wearing a shirt, shorts and some sandals because I did not have night-out outfits. (Oh well! I still don't! Lol) Out of nowhere some man, who seemed to be "drunk" came up to me and tried to stumble on me and felt up on me when he did. I gave him a stank face and I moved. I looked around to see what others reactions were or why they didn't help and everyone in that cart just looked at me. It was a look you get when you know something's up. So I got a flight feeling inside then. I went to go sit down by a few people. I Facetimed my friend who was still awake here in Penn. US and told him about what had just happened. He asked me "Is he still there?" I looked up thinking the man had left and on the row next to mine the man was there, looking at me with his arm resting on his leg and his head resting in his hand just looking directly at me. If this were daytime I don't think I'd think much of it but the man didn't get off and there were two more stops left on the metro until it ended its trip. My stop was second to last, and I thought there is no way this man has the same stop as me. My stop had come, which was El Carmel and people had begun to get off. I got out and started to walk fast paced toward the exit. For those who haven't taken this stop, it's quite a walk to get to the surface- if anyone has taken the metro from DC to MD to Wheaton Station and seen the flight of stairs you have to climb to get to the surface-- well imagine that x4. So while I was exiting the first room where the metro had dropped us, as I looked behind me while going up the stairs and thought 'yes! he's gone!' but I thought too soon because when the metro was about to leave, out pops the man looking around, saw me, and headed towards my direction. By that time I was on top of the exit stairs and my flight senses kicked in. I sprinted all the way home. Not to the surface, HOME. I ran like I never ran in sandals before in my life!! I don't know how I did it but I did and I'm lucky. I'd still go by myself again-- or maybe not be selfish and share the greatness with somebody-- either way those two weeks were the best weeks of my life! I'm 22 now, and I miss it very much! It's not really different to change to their custom, you really don't have to. Just be optimistic, about yourself. Don't close yourself to one part of the world just because you're familiar with it. Everything was foreign to you at some point so just relax, accept the earth as your whole home and everywhere will feel like home, as long as God is your best friend honestly that's how I did it. I felt as if he were always there, watching me even if I was 3000 miles alone and away from home. I felt peace, happiness, and joy. There's always good in bad and bad in good but that's the good thing about energy- that there's good and bad and everything can only be transferred so stay positive and positivity will radiate from you and everything you come across or get into.

      Hi,
      What advice would you have for solo female travelers?
      Did you receive any racisim from ppl?

    • @Cindypisces
      @Cindypisces 2 роки тому +1

      @@JC-ce8uw I went to Barcelona 4 years ago and plan to go next year. No racism to note. I mean I’m Latina and speak fluent Spanish and maybe not a good reference probably lolol But everyone I’ve met and everywhere I went people were extremely nice and welcoming. The only thing I would advise if you don’t speak Spanish to just learn a few words. They’re not gonna expect you to know fluent Spanish but it does help. I also travel alone for the most part and just be aware of your surroundings that’s all. I give this girl credit that went clubbing and getting home at 3 AM. I’m a bit of a wuss because if I travel alone I’m back in my hotel room by like 9 PM. I don’t wanna be out too late but that’s just me so I don’t judge anyone who doesn’t. If I’m traveling with others then I will stay out longer.

    I just went to Barcelona ....maybe it was because I went during the off season (October) but pickpockets were nothing to worry about even as a female solo-traveller. Just as safe as NYC, London, or Paris, don't be a moron and pay attention to your surroundings. In fact, I had an amazing time. Don't be intimated by all the pickpocket hype!

      Totally agree with this Adrienne. We go every Summer and have had few problems. Be careful of the subway block (where 2 people try to block you from leaving the subway only to stick their hand in your purse as you're trying to get by). Still, keeping alert of your surroundings will ensure an incident-free trip.

    I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon in Barcelona. unfortunately now this city is dead due to the pandemic. When will all this end .. ?? Barcelona needs you and those of us who live here cannot conceive of our lives without you, the tourists. Thank you very much to you who ever came and many thanks to those who will come one day. We will welcome you with open arms as we have always done. Soon the sun will rise again for everyone. Cheer up and don't forget us. Our streets, squares, monuments, beaches etc, are waiting for you. see you soon friends.

    Hi Samuel and Audrey. I passed through Barcelona twice after sailing from Genoa, Italia on a February stormy winter sea the first time. I hitchhiked from Barcelona to Madrid where I visited new friends on my way to Lisboa (your other video). The 2nd trip by sea was again from Genoa to Barcelona in September balmy weather, after I had left Portugal on my first visit there to return to Caen, France hitchhiking to Torino, Italia, and then as I wrote, again from Genoa to Barcelona through Spain back to Lisbon partly by train, for those 3 1/2 years in Portugal of nearly 6 years in Europe until I flew from Lisboa to Frankfurt and then on Lufthansa to Bombay, India, and hitchhiking down to very sub tropical Goa, for 6 months in India. Try living abroad if you have a way. BTW, I lived first in Normandy and Bretagne France, next Athens Greece, then around up & down, north-south-west-east Italy, Messina Sicily, to Firenze Italia, then those roundabout trips written above. I lived twice in France, Italy, and Portugal. It was an adventurous time of my life, like Bilbo, and I love staying home. Home sweet home where I live as good and even better than ever! Thank God. Jesus loves me.

    First of all I must say I've just discovered your channel and I'm delighted by your videos. I'll have hours of fun watching them all. BTW Audrey speaks Spanish with a perfect accent! Someday you might wanna come to Rio de Janeiro. Sam will enjoy visiting the Maracana stadium. Don't plan to do it until August this year, though. The city is quite a mess right now, being prepared for the Summer Olympic Games.
