Hola Tony!!!

Hi Tony, hope you’re doing well. your vdo has always been very useful, informative and interesting. Thank you very much for the good content. This year I’m planning my solo trip there in December. I’ll be in Madrid and want to travel to another city. Which one do you recommend between Barcelona and Seville? I think it is going to be a festive season Barcelona could have more vibrant vibe while Seville could be less crowded in December. Could you share your thoughts on what I should take into consideration? Again thank you very much
I am visiting Barcelona (unfortunately for only a day and a half) second last week in October. I saw on some videos that if you choose the time right you see the beautiful sun rays shining through Sagrada Familia windows. What time in late October is best to visit the Sagrada Familia.
Tony: Great video. I am a big fan. Planning to visit Barcelona in September. I already have Sagrada Familia ticket for the late afternoon. Can I also do Park Guell and Hoapital San Pau on the same day? Would you suggest I start the Park or the Hospital? Thanks for your advice.
You could, visit Park Güell (you need to pre-book a time slot) first thing in the morning, and then the Hospital on the way to Sagrada Família. All the best.
Dear Tony, when visiting Montjuic, I saw that there is a funicular from the stop Paral-lel that takes you directly to the cable car teleferic de Montjuic. Would you recommend to take this path to the top. Or is it possible to just walk to the top where the castle is. What would you recommend as the best way to explore Montjuic. Also, have you been to the botanical garden in montjuic? It seems like montjuic has so many different gardens to explore, which were your favorite? thank you again.
Hi Dmitriy, the funicular is a short ride to a place (the top station) where you can take a bus that will take you to the castle. We are planning a self-guided tour to Montjuïc but it is still in the making.
Thank you so much for your detailed information on all your videos. Do you know the local Por touristy, that sell tropical fruits and buffet seafood restaurants? Also, a good local bakery in Portol, Lisbon, or even in Barcelona that sells good Portuguese custard tarts (Pasteis de Nata) ? Thank you again. Hope you and your wife stay well.
Hi, we don't know of any restaurant with that name. Are you sure you got it right? Do you mean the Puertecillo? See where to eat pastéis de nata in Lisbon here: ua-cam.com/video/KO6qVI0G61M/v-deo.html It's in Lisbon where we'd eat them.
@@jkd246 any market in Barcelona sells all types of fruits. Spain is not a tropical country, so there is only a small representation of tropical fruits. Try the Mercat de Santa Caterina.
Tony, thank you very much for the sharing. Is magic fountain closed now? I’m planning to go to Barcelona next week till early March. But it seems no info during that time on the website😢
Hi Sophie, the magic fountain show is suspended due to a severe drought in the region. It will only work again once substantial rainfall is registered.
Hi Tony, thank you for your well-presented and very informative videos! We're planning a trip to Barcelona soon. For attractions like Sagrada familia, how long are the queues usuallly? Do we really need to purchase skip-the-queue tickets instead of normal tickets?
Hi Derrick, in the Sagrada Familia there are hardly any queues as you can only enter the temple at the time you chose when you bought your ticket. We saw several web pages selling skip the queue tickets, be careful, there is no such thing. Buy only from the official website.
People in Barcelona are sick and tired of tourists especially Cruise passengers and are wanting them to stay home, well that just means more will come faster. LOL Great video Senor
Hi Tony, Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am making a trip to Park Guell with 2 seniors (above 65 yrs-old), and we are staying at EasyHotel. Google map shows there is a 20 minutes up-hill walk from L3 Lesseps station to Park Guell, to minimize the walking distance, is it better to travel by TMB bus 116 or bus 24, so as to use the entrance at Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya, which has an escalator? Also, could you have the link for the routes/stops travelled by TMB bus 116 and bus 24? Best Regards
Hi Belle. You could take the metro to Vallcarca and use the escalators there. The only risk with escalators is that sometimes they are out of service. Route 24 www.tmb.cat/es/barcelona/autobuses/-/lineabus/24 Route 116 www.tmb.cat/es/barcelona/autobuses/-/lineabus/116 Why don't you travel to Lesseps by metro and take a taxi to the park?
Thank you for your suggestion. Google map show Bus H6 or D40 from Lesseps station to PARK GUELL entrance at Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep, is it correct?
I'm planning to visit La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell on the same day. I'm looking to buy the tickets now, but I'm unsure what times to buy tickets to be able to do both on the same day, ideally one after another. I'm unsure of how much time to allocate for each place and also time to commute between them by metro. What would be your recommendation in that situation?
If you have the entire day for both monuments, visit the Sagrada Familia in the morning, have lunch, and visit the Park Güell in the afternoon. Plenty of time.
Thank you, Tony, for another super informative video! May I ask between Montjuïc and tibidabo , which one would you pick? Also is Palau guell something worth to consider in a tight schedule? 🙏
Hi Wendy, there's much more to see and do at the Montjuïc mountain. Palau Güell is wonderful, but on a tight schedule you would have to do La Pedrera, the Casa Batlló, the Sagrada Familia, the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Hospital de Sant Pau first.
Dear Tony, another question please about Park Guell. If we were to take a taxi to get to the park, which entrance/address should we provide to the driver and which entrance would you recommend best to enter the park through? thank you so kindly as always. love your channel so much!
Hi, very nice video. In one video we got it all. We are going to Barcelona for 3 days. Can you help us to divide these places in 3 days. The places which we can club together on each day. We will be staying in Las Rambla. We are not going to do day trips in outskirts of Barcelona.
Hi Tony, I am trying to purchase Park Güell tickets for January using your link in the video, the website says the general ticket is 10 EUR but when I go to pay it says 18 EUR, do you know if the entrance fee has increased and they have not updated their website info page? 🙏 thank you!
We've just run a simulation and the final price is 10 EUR. It could be that for the date you are selecting only guided tours are available. We don't know. The fee hasn't increased.
Dear Tony, may you please recommend and advise as to what would be the best route or path to take once inside Park Guell. What would the first location to go to before the crowds start accumulating, and then subsequently the best path to take from there, and the most important parts of the park to see because I'm sure the park is quite big. Thank you so kindly as always for your help and guidance.
Hi Dmitriy, we don't have a video on the park yet. The park is bigger than most people think, but not gigantic. Climb to the upper part of the park and descend from there.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal thank you Tony, may i just clarify, As I understand, there are three entrances: Carrer de Larrard (main entrance), Carretera del Carmel, and Av. del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya. Which of these would be the entrance from the upper part of the park? Thank you again
Hola, Tony, thank you for your amazing videos! I am a bit confused regarding the process of entering the Sagrada familia. Many youtubers that had visited Barcelona mention "I bought skip the lines ticket and I did not have to wait in long lines to enter". Do people that buy regular tickets online form the link that you have provided have to wait in long lines as opposed to people that bought "skip the lines" tickets? Are there 2 ques (or entrances) one for the "skip the lines" ticket holders and one for the regular ticket holders? Please, explain the differences, if any.
Hi there. There are no skip the line tickets at the Sagrada Familia. Wherever you enter an attraction at a given time, there is no skip the queue ticket. What happens with all those YouTubbers is that they are commissioned but dodgy three-party sites that sell overpriced tickets with the promise of "skip-the-line". We talked about it recently here: ua-cam.com/video/r3YYQ4pk6As/v-deo.html But your tickets exclusively at the Sagrada Familia website.
Dear Tony, may I please ask about Park Guell. I see that there is one fee to pay for the entrance and then there is also another ticket that you can purchase to enter the Gaudi House/Museum. I have not been able to find the website where you can purchase the ticket for the latter. When you go to the official Gaudi House website, it redirects you to the Sagrada Familia website, but I am not able to find a way to purchase tickets there. May you please help to find if there is an official website to order this ticket, and also as a side question, have you ever been inside this Gaudi House/Museum, do you think it is worth it to purchase this extra ticket or is it enough to just purchase the entrance ticket to Park Guell and just enjoy the park itself without going inside the Gaudi House/Museum. Thank you so much for all of your help and attention.
Hi Dmitriy, it is really confusing, as the Gaudi House is maintained by the Sagrada Familia while the park belongs to the city council. In any case, a visit to the house is not essential, so do not bother with it. All the best.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Dear Tony, as always you are super kind and helpful with the quick replies and insightful advice. Gratitude and appreciation for everything you do!
Hola Tony, what is the best way to get to Recinte Modernista Hospital from Parc Guell. Is it too far to walk, or should we taxi, bus? Can we get the ticket at the door for Recinte Modernista? Gracias.
Great video. Do you know where I can get a map of Barcelona with the attractions so I’ll know my way around? Or do you just google on your phone? I’m planning a trip in July. Also which hotel is closet to everything and the center where the Aerobus leaves you off?
Hello there, you can ask for a map at any tourist office. Google Maps is very handy too. See our choices of the best areas to stay in Barcelona here: ua-cam.com/video/Ra3CHOfcmK8/v-deo.html
Dear Tony, when purchasing a ticket online for the Hospital de Sant Pau or the Palau de la Musica Catalana, there is an option to do a combined ticket to be able to go to both locations. Do you know how that ticket works please? For instance, can we first go to the Hospital and then to the Music Palace afterwards on the same day? Does the time matter? Because if you purchase the tickets separately without the combined ticket option, you have to select a time slot when you want to enter. Do you know how strict they are at the Hospital or the Music Palace about the time slots. For example, at Park Guell, they only allow you that 30 minute window on your ticket to enter. Does it work the same way with places like the Hospital, the Music, and even places like Palau Guell or the Cathedral of Barcelona. For example, what if we arrive 15 minutes past our time window or 30 minutes past, will they no longer allow us to go in? The reason I ask is because I would prefer to purchase the tickets to these locations ahead of time. But of course it can be a little tricky to know exactly when we will be there, we may be late by 15-45 minutes. Thank you again for always being so helpful and generous with your advice.
You need to select the time slot for the visit to the Palau de la Música. No need to make a booking for the Hospital. But it is not clear when can you use the ticket to visit the Hospital, whether it has to be on the same day or not.
Hi Tony, thank you for this well-presented very informative video! We are embarking on a trans-atlantic cruise from Barcelona and have decided to spend a few days in Barcelona, arriving on a Thursday afternoon and will start cruising on Sunday. We will try to maximize our very limited days based on your recommendations from this video. Sagrada Familia is on top of the list! Can I ask if you have information about Covid testing clinics, we need this done prior to cruising. Are they available in the airport upon arrival? By the way, we are from Sydney, Australia. Good day, mate! Hope to hear from you. Thank you. Melody
Good morning, Melody, thank you for your kind words. There is a COVID test clinic at T1, you can see the details here: flycovidtestcenter.com/en/barcelona-t1/ As far as we can tell, it is on the landside of the airport, so you should be a able to reach it on arrival. If you are planning to go to the Sagrada Familia, make sure you book your tickets in advance. Have a great trip! P.S.: my sister works as as vet in Perth, WA.
Hello Tony! Thank you for an informative video. I have a question regarding the tourist attraction passes. I intend to visit 5 attractions in your list and would like to know if I should get a pass (eg. Barcelona City Pass, Go City pass, etc). Are these passes offered by reputable companies and would they honour what is stated in the pass. Thank you.
Hello there, we have seen the passes but are not familiar with the details or how they work. The only pass we know for a fact is a great deal is the Hola Modernista card we talk about here: ua-cam.com/video/DdI8q2ExeHo/v-deo.html
Dear Tony, thank you for your video. We will visit Barcelona and Madrid in June, we already have Sagrada Familia tickets. As for the other attractions in these two cities, would you recommend that we buy the tickets in advance so that we can skip the lines, or should we buy the Modenista, and get the ticket on site when we visit these attractions? We will stay in Madrid for 4 days and Barcelona for 5 days. Appreciate your advice and recommendation in advance.
Hi Lucia, we recommend the Modernista card if the attractions included in the pass are of interest to you. The other attraction in Barcelona for which you should book in advance is Park Güell. In the case of Madrid, pre-booked tickets for the Palacio Real and the Museo del Prado could save you queueing for a long time. All the best!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Thank you so much for your recommendations. We are very excited about our trip to Spain and we feel very thankful for your kind assistance.
Hi, is the Magic fountain open for shows in current pandemic times? Because I checked out the website mentioned in the description, and on the website it says that all shows are currently cancelled due to pandemic.
Hello there, the Magic Fountain is not working at the moment due to COVID restrictions. There are many restrictions in place in Spain that affect the life of tourists, we want everyone to be aware that things are far from normal and there is a long list of restrictions in place. As the number of cases in Spain is constantly dropping, we hope there will be changes soon.
Can a Catholic tourist attend Sunday morning Mass at La Sagrada Famila ?Is that ok or considered impolite. I would hate to take a spot from a regular parishioner.
You can, and many tourists do. You will have to join the queue early. Regular parishioners attend mass at the Crypt, the small church on the side of the temple.
Hi Tony...been trying to book 2 tickets for Sagrada Familia in June. Been trying for 2 days. Every time I get "Error Retry Again" and my email and phone # has been removed. I have tried different browsers and even set my VPN to Spain. No luck. A quick Google search shows that many people have the same problem.
I’m running into the same problem. How did you end up getting it to work? I have tried calling and they sent me to a “reservations” line and she said nothing she can do, it has to be online… any help would be appreciated!

Again thank you very much
Hi, Seville will be pretty crowded in December. But the choice depends on the amount of days you have for that side trip.
I can spend 3days 2nights in that side trip. Would you recommend Barcelona or Seville?
@@tanyachen9295it would have to be Seville.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal thank you Tony
I am visiting Barcelona (unfortunately for only a day and a half) second last week in October. I saw on some videos that if you choose the time right you see the beautiful sun rays shining through Sagrada Familia windows. What time in late October is best to visit the Sagrada Familia.
I wouldn't overplan it, a cloudy day would ruin any calculations. Any time during the day should be fine.
Great. Thanks for that tip.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal thank you so much.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal sorry, what meant is local market, not so touristy that sells tropical fruits
LOL
Great video Senor
Route 24 www.tmb.cat/es/barcelona/autobuses/-/lineabus/24
Route 116 www.tmb.cat/es/barcelona/autobuses/-/lineabus/116
Why don't you travel to Lesseps by metro and take a taxi to the park?
Thank you for your suggestion.
Google map show Bus H6 or D40 from Lesseps station to PARK GUELL entrance at Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep, is it correct?
@@bellekoh4465 none of those lines take you to the park gate, you will have to climb a steep street to get there.
To getting to places are very informative but the L1, L2 and so on … are those buses or metro ? Forgive me if comes as a naive question.
Metro lines, L1 = line 1. All the best!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Thank you for very timely replies. Appreciated!
Dear Tony, another question please about Park Guell. If we were to take a taxi to get to the park, which entrance/address should we provide to the driver and which entrance would you recommend best to enter the park through? thank you so kindly as always. love your channel so much!
Hi Dmitriy, just ask the driver to take you to the entrance to the Park, he should know where to drop you. All the best!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal understood, really appreciate your guidance!!! thank you
Hi, very nice video. In one video we got it all. We are going to Barcelona for 3 days. Can you help us to divide these places in 3 days. The places which we can club together on each day. We will be staying in Las Rambla. We are not going to do day trips in outskirts of Barcelona.
Hello again. We haven't got that video yet.
@@linkinthebio27 you can enter through Carretera del Carmel and then turn right and climb to the top of the park.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal thank you so much!!! :)
Very nice
👏👏👏
Hi, we were lookimg for Sagrada Familia tickets for May 6th, it is showing sold out. Is there any other agents or ways to get it?
Hi, no agents we can recommend.
Gracias.
Hi Marcia, it's a 25 minute walk, going down. Or a taxi. You can buy the ticket at the ticket entrance.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal thank you greatly!
Is it possible to purchase train tickets in advance? We’re trying to purchase tickets from Barcelona to Montserrat.
See here all the info about Montserrat, including our preferred option to go there, combined tickets: ua-cam.com/video/DtouuBNpay0/v-deo.html
Which is better to visit Park Quell or Casa Vicense? Thank you
They are quite different, one is a park, the other one, a house. But if we had to choose, we would visit the Park Güell first.

Hospital de Sant pau is not free and needs 17 E tickets per person
Pls update for all viewers
Hospital de Sant Pau has never been free, nor have we ever claimed otherwise.
I have discovered that the magic fountain is closed due to water shortages and drought. Bummer.
Yes, it's a real pity. And the situation is not improving (rainfall nowhere to be seen) so it seems the fountain won't be back for a long long time.
It may be time for the fountain to work it’s magic 😁

Hi Tony...been trying to book 2 tickets for Sagrada Familia in June. Been trying for 2 days. Every time I get "Error Retry Again" and my email and phone # has been removed. I have tried different browsers and even set my VPN to Spain. No luck. A quick Google search shows that many people have the same problem.
Sorry to hear that, Jeff. If you get in touch by email with the Sagrada Familia, they might be able to help. They usually reply to incoming emails.
I’m running into the same problem. How did you end up getting it to work? I have tried calling and they sent me to a “reservations” line and she said nothing she can do, it has to be online… any help would be appreciated!
