Treble Cone as a good beginner destination made me chuckle. It's easy one of the worst beginner hills I've ever been to. The beginner green is an icy single pomma and the 'green' central one is super steep and thin.
yup, triple treat would be a blue any ware. might go hit up the Motutapu chutes this season tho.
Great and informative video. Minor slip @ 6:40 "Cardrona conveniently located between the towns of Queensland and Wanaka"? Dont worry, I know you meant Queenstown. Great review.
Looks absolutely epic and gorgeous! Great to see the southern hemisphere holding its own on the skiing and snowboarding front.
What about the North Island, mate? Mt. Ruapehu has the most lifts and trails plus the highest café in the country...
Indeed, that would have been my #1
But the snowfall there is usally not as good the the South Island ski fields
Mt Ruapehu is now bankrupt and hasn’t had enough snow since 2019 to have a proper season, it’s a shrinking glacier and may not open again next year unless they find an investor, but no one wants to invest in a shrinking glacier on an active volcano, it’s a bad investment
And no snow
@@tenoakiel5758 ha! close to 4\3m this season more than any skifield in NZ and will be open until mid to late October. Coronet closed by mid September due to lack of snow
Cardona is amazing I’ve been there 47 times and every time was good except when I broke my arm on big bucks
Wow you must know every inch of snow there!
ive been there more
Lol. Top 5 commercial resorts located near Queenstown except Hutt maybe.
Which of these top five ski resorts have the best restaurants; and accommodations for the ski tourists?
Mt Ruapehu as the biggest ski field by a long shot over 900 hr and this just under 3000m
*had
@@samnewzealand oops still has
Wen was mt hutt kids under 10 ski for free?
No mention of any of the club fields? Broken river, Mt Olympus?
honestly tc is better than cardrona because of cardrona having less advanced terrain
Where is tc?
@@mischamaurer5548 tc is in wanaka, New zealand
So much better then what we have here in Australia 😂
No surprise if your tallest mountain happens to be 2230 meters tall and *not* everything in the Australian Alps being as rugged, high and steep as the New Zealand ones. Mount Cook alone is 1500 meters higher than Mt. Kosciuszko.
Yet, fun fact, Australia receives more snowfall per area on average than Switzerland.
Looks like barely snow most years..
this season was "fantastic"
Do you know the salary as ski instructor or ski patroller in NZ? I come from France and wish to do a season in the country as instructor or patroller
its not too bad, normally $27-$30 ph in most resorts
Why aren’t there any trees in the mountains here?
just the landscape we have
theres just no trees in new zealand that grow at that altitude its all just tussock
Most ski resorts in NZ are at an altitude that is above the tree line.
@@samwilson9668 Trees have also been cleared for forestry and agriculture.
Chase Elliott you watching this?
I need to go to new zelend
Highly recommend!
Ah, it's finally out.
Yes, as promised!
