Most mountains in New Zealand south island have no trees as the mountains are rock mountains. Only native nz grass type plants live on the high country environment
We don't tend to get snowfall at the tree line like in the European Alps or Canadian resorts. The snow line is getting higher every year unfortunately.
Good video. I loved Treble Cone, it has the longest beginner slope in NZ.
The best thing about skiing in new zealand is the mountains have no trees 🌲, no barriers you can ski wherever you like
