Anyone who takes issue with another expressing their honest thoughts, opinions, feelings owns that problem ….in MY opinion 🤣. We had relatives living in Wanaka who loved living there for all the reasons you said so it’s a fair representation.👍 Oops this was in comment to your reply to me, posted in wrong place! 🤭
Okay, so one of the reasons I love you guys is summer up in your statement "we're only semi-active". So many blogs/vlogs for travel are either 1. All sitting on a beach or checking out museums or 2. Multi-day hikes. My husband and I are active, but we are more your style, a reasonably short hike or paddle boarding/kayaking, etc. You guys always seem to have a nice balance of relaxing with food and being active (also with food. Another plus)
That's awesome to hear! As you would know we do tackle the odd big hike (just did a crazy one in Tasmania!) but for the most part we're all about that chill balance and finding those good meals too.
Well if it isn't Mr Paddy himself! What's up dude, good to hear from you... damn, just out here building a new channel from scratch and destroying everyone else in months aye 😍
Queenstown local here 😇 I‘d highly recommend Skippers Canyon and Macetown. Two former gold mining settlements surrounded by stunning landscapes. You can’t drive there on your own with a rental but Nomad Safaris offers 4x4 tours to get you there and show you how to find gold on the way.
Have you guys ever been to Pedro's House of Lamb? we ate there the last time we were in Queenstown, it was incredible and has changed forever the cut and how I cook lamb. Highly highly highly reccomend it.
Thanks guys. NZ is one of my favourite countries I have ever visited. The scenery is just amazing. Want to come again and bring hubby as he has never been. Glad Arrowtown made the list. So adorable.
❤Queenstown ! The luge is brilliant , the view is spectacular from up there ! I adore Arrowtown , and Glenorchy and along the road to Paradise, til you eventually come to the end of the road is an amazing drive in both directions . The Shotover Jet we couldn't do on the river because of ice , but did it on the Lake instead - definitely take a sea sick tablet !😂 Milford Sound is incredible, stays with you forever- we went 20 years ago , still fantastic memories . The hot tub is fun , we did it at night to look at the stars in winter ❤ The whole area is such a special place ....hope I get back , even just once more ( I'm in Scorland)
@@DanegerAndStacey we've been over to NZ 4 times and a fair bit of exploring! We were hoping to come back soon to see family and friends again , but the flight prices have doubled...so it might be a while longer yet !
Pretty impressed with ourselves to say we’ve been to Queenstown twice (from Sydney) and we score 7/12…….however that does mean we’ll have to get ourselves back to achieve top marks. 🙂
Yeah Bobs Cove is a stunner! You can make it quite a big walk if you like, but to get to the lake part it's really short. Little effort for max reward = winning!
You both be great Ambassador’s for New Zealand tourist board. This is very very good 😜 Those hikes looked just amazing. Thank you for sharing 🥰 Have a Good week 🥰
Some great useful information for the first timers. Wondering what and where to start in New Zealand and what are the top 10 recommended places to visit in NZ and when is the best time of the year to cover different places in NZ ? Glad to see you folks being the native local Kiwis covering NZ series, who else could better insights of NZ. Of course liked and subscribed already. Cheers 👍
Thank you so much! I was planning to go Queenstown when I cancelled & looked your channel up, now will rebook with my two daughters! ❤ -Wellington, New Zealand fan (Just subscribed)
Thanks for this…question: traveling to Queenstown 2nd week in March (so yeah probably still really busy season); how far in advance would you suggest reserving things like the Earnslaw cruise and a slot at Deer Park Heights. Many thanks from California fans…
I hear you about Wanaka, we found it was a perfectly timed recharge-our-batteries kinda place surrounded by many days of travel/sightseeing. A good chill vibe!
Glad you agree - we were a bit unsure how people would take our commentary! Locals seem to like it that way though, they don't want all the Queenstown crowd and busy streets we dont think
@@DanegerAndStacey the thing about Wanaka is that it isn't Queenstown and isn't trying to be. It's more laid back, and it's aiming at people who just want to have a chill holiday. We used to spend holidays there or in the nearby mountain valleys, because it wasn't as busy or expensive as Queenstown
We've been in every season! They all have something special to offer, but either side of the ski season (but not in school holidays) is the real winner. Our guide has much more advice if you're interested.
We've done the Dart River trip as well and as fun as it was, with stunning views, it's just not the same sense of speed you get from the narrow canyon. The funyaks on the dart river though are EPIC and the combo trip together is gold.
Nice thumbnail although I prefer the green/aqua you used for Thailand. Also Dane your voice over is good but Stacey's is better. Content very good as always!
We've been more times than we can count, in all seasons. Queenstown is beautiful year round! If you want to visit, our guide will help you immensely: www.thatch.co/guide/29m7ir9bkbycq/view
Thanks for the video! we are going to milford sound for a day trip . If we get there by 10 or 11am and leave by sunset is it enough time to enjoy it/ get the full experience? or should we stay for the night? thanks
The day trip is looooong but totally worth it. If you can find a tour that has a one night stay over that might be a nice way to slow it down a bit and maximise time. Though our day trip got back in the dark so that we could have as much time on the boat/kayaking
Yes. Same principle. An internal combustion engine connected to a water jet unit. That's not a jet engine. If it were, you'd see water shooting out of aircraft engines!
Where do you think we got the footage 😂 Check our channel, we've done the majority of the recommendations and we're transparent with our wording 'this is on our list for next time' if we haven't.
How can a country that prides itself on its environmental agenda be so keen on offering private helicopter rides at so many locations?? NZ has become a playground for rich and environmentally carefree young adults rather than a destination that promotes sensible ways of sustainably enjoying its beautiful nature. Sad..
The planet is going to warm, and then its going to cool, and then its going to warm again, and then its going to cool, and then..........etc. There is absolutely nothing you can do to stop that process. In the meantime, the poor people of the world will end up suffering due to ill thought out policies........that are not going make a scrap of difference anyway. And that is sad!!!

Amazing! We need to go back and film the TSS Earnslaw
I so wanna travel to New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤ Thanks for the awesome guide guys

Haha two years in the making not a few months 😎 waiting for kiwi summer to roll around and I’ll be there fingers crossed
Do it!! The South Island really is best in winter but still a banger year round

Great to see some fellow kiwis giving my hometown some positive vibes. Too often it’s the opposite.
Yay! You live in a stunning place
Beech Tree in Queenstown is the best place for craft beers and wings! Cute pub with fireplace, cozy atmosphere and boardgames if you want
Thanks for the tip! We've not actually been, but we'll add it to the list for next time

Awww too kind! We think so too haha, yet to work with them though sadly - hopefully one day x
Interesting list, I'm doing a NZ roadtrip next April and I'm definitely making a lunch stop in Arrowtown, since I'll be coming from Fox Glacier.
Sounds like an epic trip, deffo check out Arrowtown!

I wouldn’t recommend driving back at night when you are tired. Stay in Te Anau and get there before dark if you want more time at Milford.
