Great video! It would be great if a company like GameSir or Ksilver just sold Xbox Hall effect joysticks only. I have 3 controllers suffering from stick drift and would love to just replace the joysticks.
That thing on the abxy membranes is to stabilise the buttons I'm pretty sure. I think it's so the controller buttons can't be pressed diagonally because this would make them less durable
This is such a good controller, I don't know why people take notice of Gamesir that much. Respect Gamesir for all the feature this controller has. I like how you show that you can do diagonal press on the D-pad. Most youtuber never mention or show it. And Kudos for testing out the headphone jack. Sounds much better than the Original Xbox One series headphone jack sounds. The teardown of the controller gives me general Idea on how to repair it. Thank you for showing us that. I think the reason they didn't include the Ring for the D-pad is for like how you show us. You can do diagonal press on the D-pad thus they didn't add any ring to it And if you got a Gamesir T4 Kaleid, the face button doesn't have the Plastic Ring and many people notice it wobble when pressing and it is mechanical switches too. I truly much prefer the G7 SE and its membrane build rather than mechanical switches. I really hope they make a wireless version in the future for this G7 series of controller.
This just seems like the perfect xbox controller for me, b/c i don't care about it being wired. I actually prefer wired, no worries about recharging & response times should be better. No Gamesir fanboy or anything biased going on here, this one just seems to fit me in almost every way. I would prefer tactile buttons for the d-pad & face buttons(i don't mind the clicky sound at all), but maybe the rubber membrane is more durable on this one. I'll see with time i guess, as i plan to definitely order it. Good review, thanks : )
11:06 I was thinking where this would help. Steering in games where the Ackerman angle (steering peak) is adjustable. But how would I benefit in a shooter
Only problem with G7SE compared to regular T4 is the non linear stick curve, which was implemented to the later versions of T4K and T4 Flux through software firmware update so you have to downgrade it if you buy it these days. If it had a linear curve I would buy 3-4 of them and keep them for the future since in my opinion the buttons and particularly the D-Pad is the best Gamesir has made, coupled with the other features make it a genuine pro level controller 150-200 euro controllers feel cheaper some that i've used.
The "drawback" of the USB plug compatibility, is actually an BIG advantage. I had two DS4 controllers become too unreliable to use via USB on PC, because the port would wear out over time and become loose can cause them to temporarily drop out during play. This happens from the USB plug leveraging on the port when set down on it and the weight of the controller resting on the plug. As long as you find USB cables with a matching sleeve, this means the controller will not let you down, or die from a broken cable. The plug shape same seems pretty common too.
There's a new version called Gamesir Kaleid (not to be confused with T4 Kaleid) which has all features of G7SE but with tactile d-pad and ABXY buttons. It's also transparent with black tint and RGB lights. It's glorious. Don't get the Kaleid Flux - it's a bit cheaper but has membrane buttons/d-pad
Im thinnking about buying kontrolfreeks for my controller(also g7se). But i have heard people saying the xbox version of kontrolfreeks does not fit. Should i get the ps4/5 version instead ?
The sticks are super sensitive too so play around on the app configure to suit your play style, I have 3 separate configured for the main 3 games I use , yeah I like it and it costs half of the victrix, although I like will probably get another victrix as it's slightly faster.
I have a Astro A40 wired headset and was wondering if the sound quality will be affected as i will need to plug it directly into the controller. Great review 👍
Yeah I really would like to buy this controller, but I can't play without 4 back buttons anymore after getting use to playing that way. If they ever do that I will never buy a microsoft controller again.
I don't have any official confirmation but it's not hard to see that there was no reason for this controller to be wired or at least have wireless and wired functionality The only forced wired controllers in the market are either the cost benefit controllers or the RGB controllers like the t4 kaleid or the rainbow
All controllers licensed are not wireless, the 8bitdo controllers for Xbox are wired, same with the powerA and others, Microsoft don't like wireless conectivity if not are the oficcial controller that they sell
Only with an adapter, the Brook wingman XB2, if You connect the gamesir with the 360 Will not work, but with the wingman can You play with that controller
My question is ( new to wired controllers) if i were to purchase this controller can it work thru direct plug into the wall or a power supply or is it a must plug in direct into the xbox. I really wanna know before purchasing based on where my xbox currently is on my shelf
I played on that shi for a week, It's way to slippery. Also the trigger stop messes with aim because the very slightest let go of the triggers stop your shooting even when it shouldn't. I went back to my Xbox Elite and I can't tell a differnce in aim quality. I'ts also very wide on the sides which strains my hands
I think it's just wouldn't be selling as cheap if it's wireless. Ms blocking it for some reason is a stretch. Ms is always happy whenever somebody else do the hardware for them, always. They can charge more as the official hardware & selling the license. Only the console they be selling at a loss, afaik.
BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gamesir G7 SE uses a deadzones in their software remove drift and its the same drift as the ALPS when the deadzone is removed. The G7SE also uses software to get better circularity test place it to "raw" mode and the 0.5% inaccuracy turns to 14% double that of the elite 2 at 7%. Not saying I don't love my G7 SE but people have to understand hall effect sensors DO NOT solve the issue of drift when the stick is centered. Actually my dual sense PS5 controller has less drift and centers to more consistent center than all of my xbox controllers possibly due to a stiffer spring and running a higher voltage. What you will not get from a hall effect sensor is drift due to potentiometer wear/failure. So if you are thinking of buying one to have no drift you will be disappointed unless you like deadzones but then why are you buying it? Any controller can have no drift if the deadzone is large enough unless it has a potentiometer failure. Note drift can be subjective as the response curves change from game to game. I like playing with linear with little to no deadzone so this make drift very apparent.
@@VKsChannel I do not have a vid could make one however this vid shows the drift ua-cam.com/video/uRdcU13SVjY/v-deo.html. The values can also be seen at 11:20 in your video where the left stick does not have X and Y values of 0.00% after removing the deadzone. Post software update Gamesir have added the following to the Gamesir Nexus app under sticks "Initial value under 10% will make the stick very sensitive, which is prone to drifting. Please use with caution." For me I still like this controller best for the price with rear buttons IMO. Still yet to try the T4.
Shit controllers. First one I replaced the power connect tore from the core itself and was lodged in the controller. Got a replacement then the platic O ring around the left joystick cracked now the joystick will get stuck....so I switched back to the original one and the same thing happened.
@VKsChannel perhaps, but you could also look at it from the angle of wireless controllers have input delay. Alot of people even use the elite series 2 with the cable to remove input delay. So it could also been a competitive choice
If people continues to buy these controllers, hopefully companies makes the switch away from ALPS.
Putting alps sticks in $200 controllers should be illegal. Ive had unmanageable stick drift straight out of the box with the elite series 2.
Yeah except that the alps are better... Have you tried playing with a controller like this? They are fkin awful.
@@MV-ri7zu No way, they feel WAY better than ALPS! I ain't switching back to that other garbage!
