Love the d-pad comparisons you do in this video starting at about the 12:20 mark. Got a cheap closeout wired Direwolf on Amazon hoping I would get the same d-pad as on the Direwolf 2 and Vader 3 (too expensive for me) but the up direction kept sticking and I had to return it. Right now the circular d-pad on the surprisingly cheap Funlab Firefly (with your cardboard suggestion) is giving me the best d-pad response. Hope to see you do reviews on the Easysmx X10 and X15 soon to see what their d-pads are like. Your controller videos are second to none. Keep up the great work!
I risked buying one despite the D-pad warning and with mine, the D-pad works perfectely fine at all areas yours didn't! 😃 The only things i could find are minor. - The left trigger when used with the trigger stop can be pushed a little deeper after hitting the 'stop' wich makes it feel 'vulnerable' of sorts. And with a trigger stop , the travel should be even less to my taste. - Also the stand isn't perfectly flat which makes it wobly on my desk. - The power button light can't be turned off and is too bright for me to play at night. I solved that with a sticker on top. I'm sure some of these things can vary with different copies. I still paid over € 100 and now they cost way less. A real bargain for such great device if you ask me.

I think sensitive diagonals on a d-pad isn't such an objectively good quality as you make it out to be. I think it's going to come down to how you position your thumb on the d-pad. You seem to move your entire thumb over to the direction you're pressing which explains why you would need sensitive diagonals. but it's not only that the problem, the diagonals are hard to hit because they have such a tiny sweetspot, you can see that by the end of the video where I'm trying to do a diagonal attack and often end up missing the attack entirely, its not impossible to play but you really need a lot of time to get used to it, meanwhile other controllers are just as intuitive as the original pro controller

Cool which is your favorite among the Hall Effect ones: G5 Pro, Vader 3 Pro or this one? Which has the best D-pad you've used by the way (for fighting heavy games like Tekken, Street Fighter and Shenmue 2, Shenmue the father of al open world games, the first open world game and first to use the Hall Effect coz' Dreamcast had that in 1998, 26 years ago!)? God bless.
The dpad on the rainbow is not good go with the machenike g5 or vader 3 pro, both are great but the dpad on the vader 3 should be better especially for fighting games
@@VKsChannel Which do you like more the Vader 3 Pro and G5 Pro when you've set up everything and enjoy more to play with overall not just fighting games (especially on a chill sunday after the Church/worship obligations :-) )? I'd love to try the Apex 2 someday but it's not sold anymore (there's second hand but I'm not sure about the sellers coz' most don't have ratings)
@@VKsChannel Thanks by the way do you think the Sony's DualSense is superior to the Vader 3 Pro overall or DualSense they say has the better motion control for Forza and extreme realistic DCS war simulation which I learned from your fellow UA-camr Tuuvus (it's in a way realistic version of Battlefield like ARMA which I like, coz' maybe there are few cheats with aim bots there which ruin FPS making me always last X-D & perhaps I plan to create a flight and driving cockpit with the new foldable OLED coming up and surround myself- or someday get dome thing surrounded by monitors which'll help add to real life skill) and driving games (also for sniping assist in FPS) and the DualSense ability to divide the touch into four for quick segregation access too each segregation of the inventory (though how many PC games support that? or even Playstation games?) or Vader 3 Pro is still the winner for things that is has. There is a 'Like New' seller who sells the green Zoro version of One Piece of the Vader 3 Pro and there's a seller of a brand new Vader 3 Pro for almost he same price. If you choose Vader 3 Pro over DualSense, which one if say it's your first time buying a controller and you've tested both, would you buy (no buyer's regret after, if that's ok to ask :-) )? I'd love to try the S-Tier Apex 3 but with Microsoft's looming ban (if PC gaming's not affected then it's fine), coz' it essentially has a small mouse on the face buttons, it might get banned but then Microsoft might not even touch the PC gamers, just the Xbox ones on multiplayer (not when you're playing solo on campaign mode, God willing). Thanks. P.S. I just knew this yesterday, thanks to this long and quite energy draining but needed controller research, I didn't know I was already using Hall Effect technology for years now coz' I have the first controller which used Hall Effect that was made specifically for the game 'Nights into Dream' on SEGA Saturn way back in 1996 (28 years ago!). It's the SEGA 3D Control Pad (it's also the spiritual successor, like the Dreamcast controller of the Xbox controller form factor and analog trigger and buttons layout), it's extremely nice to hold, you'd say "very nice", the Dreamcast controller was the second one to have Hall Effect in history- lots of first for SEGA (including first open world game- Shenmue). The UA-camr Marius Heier plans to test how well made were SEGA first two Hall Effect switches, I would bet and hope there's no deadzone and will return in the middle at 0,0 coordinates & will be superior to all Hall Effect switches- I hope :-) Thank you for lending me some of you time. God bless us gamers.
Some reviews mention the B button particularly feels bad. What did you think? Also I know lots of people are wanting hall effect sticks and this one has alps, but I think it has a centering function where the controller recalculates the center and outer ring. The Playstation 2 had this in its controllers.
Yes the b button feels slightly more resistant than the rest of them and that's because the B button hits a different board than the others resulting in a membrane that is taller on the B side But the difference is very small, the real letdown of this controller is the dpad
Hello have a question, curious can you change the facebutton with stock xbox face button? I'm not really a big fan of the looks of external paint abxy like that so i might change it in the future.
No hall effect on joystick and 4.5% circularity error is kind of deal breaker to me, bcs gamesir t4 cyclone pro can go about 0.7% if I'm not mistaken. Still, can you configure/overclock this circularity error using the app or not?
I haven't tested lag but i didn't feel any difference The workaround is just to fool the console into thinking it is an original controller so I don't believe it will have lag
That thing's face button module is neat as hell. Could make different button layouts for it like the face buttons on Emio's controller. Needs more space to do it well, though.
So, it has a PlayStation Mode, that's nice and dandy.. How about connecting it to the PC in PlayStation Mode ? How will it be recognized, as a DualShock 4, a DualSense, OR.. as a DualSense Edge ??? (considering it has the 4 additional inputs, just like the DualSense Edge.. ) Advantage would be the 4 extra buttons on a DualSense Edge can be independently mapped in Steam as EXTRA Keys, not only the default controller buttons.
The playstation mode only works on playstation consoles, if you plug the dongle on PC it will work only in x-input mode, and it won't be recognized at all if you try to pair without the dongle connected
@@VKsChannel So what you're saying is that if you have this controller connected to your PC (via its own dongle of course.. ) in XInput Mode, then Hold Y + Home to switch to PS Mode, the controller will just no longer be detected by the PC ? And you have ACTUALLY tried that.. ?? Because with my Armor-X adapter connected to my XBox Series controller I can Connect it to my PC (via its own included dongle) THEN simply hold X + Home for XInput Mode OR A + Home for Switch Mode and I can use EITHER OR via Steam. Also, when in Switch Pro mode, I have NATIVE Gyro support as well (as in Left Analog X/Y Axes, Right Analog X/Y Axes.. AND the SIX Gyro Axes.. ) It would be very curious to me that they've done away with other modes on the controller itself, while they'd provide such functionality on their adapter only.. adapter that goes with the official XBox Series controller.. But it would not work that way with THEIR OWN controller.. Very weird stuff.
@@Costinmusca Ok I have re-tested it and it does work on PC in plastation mode with the dongle but it will show up as "wireless controller" the thing is you need to re-pair it to the dongle for every different mode, my switch mode was paired to the switch so it wouldn't even connect, the armor x only works paired to the dongle so there's no room for mistakes so the short answer is switch mode paired with the dongle you get a pro controller input xbox mode paired with the dongle you get an xinput playstation mode paired with the dongle you get wireless controller If the modes are paired to something else you get nothing here's a picture of the PlayStation mode inputs without any button pressed imgur.com/lVc6l62
@@VKsChannel Yes, that checks out, the genuine DualShock 4 does show up simply as "Wireless Controller" in Windows under Devices and Printers. Makes sense this controller would show up as such given it only works with the PS4 but not with the PS5. Too bad it doesn't show up as the DS Edge PS5 controller, as those 4 buttons could've been used (and even more comfortably) as the Edge's extra 4 buttons, which can be used as independent inputs, not only as buttons on the actual controller. Maybe this could be changed with a firmware update though, as the hardware is there to build on.. That would be the near perfect 3rd party controller. Thanks for taking the time and confirming this 👍 EDIT: One more VERY IMPORTANT detail though.. just to be sure: When Connected as the Switch Pro controller to the PC, will the Gyro act as Gyro (its own 6 axis 3 translation / 3 rotation axes) or will it emulate the controller's right Analog Stick (X/Y axes) ? And just the same, but in PlayStation Mode on the PC, will the Gyro even work ? And if it does, again same question, will it work as native Gyro axes, or will it emulate the right stick X/Y axes ? I'm mostly asking since the switch game you've demoed the gyro on looked NOTHING LIKE Gyro controls, but more like an emulated analog stick.. OR.. maybe the game is just THAT BAD with its Gyro implementation.. (wouldn't be the first one.. actually, most games in existence have HORRENDOUS gyro implementation/s)
@@Costinmusca on switch mode you can use gyro with steam input and its just like the original pro controller gyro, I haven't tested it on PlayStation mode though but I'm pretty sure it will work too
Hi, i got the controller one week ago. The right gyro feels vary strange. It is always resetting the position to 0. How can i make it work just like the left gyro ?
The right gyro resets to 0 because it is used to simulate native gyroscopic aiming, and when aiming you want it to go back to 0 or else the aim would be turning left or right forever on the left stick it doesn't reset to 0 because it is generally used to control racing games or flight simulators and in those cases when you turn the controller you don't want the position of the stick to go back to 0

Almost perfect. Almost. I don't really care about the switches but I do care about the triggers, sticks and latency. 1100Hz polling rate?! Awesome! Hall triggers?! Awesome! NO vibration motors on the trigger?! I'm sad! I value vibration motors on the triggers very highly because I play a lot of racing games and they're very useful in conveying important information such as loss of grip or brake locking. Without those, it will be harder since I have to rely on visual and audio cues rather than tactile that I can feel immediately through my fingers. I'm still probably going to buy this one but hopefully they can come out one with a vibrating hall effect triggers.
Lmao, so ppl are recommending this over the V4P, because ALPS joysticks are more accurate, yet the stick latency is so much worse (according to Gamepadla)? FPS nerds will never cease to amaze me, as they always find something to complain about with controllers, instead of just admitting that they just suck. I don't play many FPS games anymore, but nothing will ever be a more precise and satisfying input as KBM.
works on the most platforms it had the fastest polling rate at the time of the review, with trigger stoppers, cool rgb lights and a smartphone app there are better ones now but this was awesome when it was released

That's why I don't test gyro controls in my reviews
@@VKsChannel okay...
Will this work with the shield pro tv?
Would you make a review of that R90(?) Dongle working on PS4? Especially the compatibility with various controllers
I already have a review of it
Cool which is your favorite among the Hall Effect ones: G5 Pro, Vader 3 Pro or this one?
Which has the best D-pad you've used by the way (for fighting heavy games like Tekken, Street Fighter and Shenmue 2, Shenmue the father of al open world games, the first open world game and first to use the Hall Effect coz' Dreamcast had that in 1998, 26 years ago!)?
God bless.
The dpad on the rainbow is not good
go with the machenike g5 or vader 3 pro, both are great but the dpad on the vader 3 should be better especially for fighting games
@@VKsChannel Thanks. Is the Apex 2 your S-Tier better for fighting games as well than the Vader 3 Pro?
@@VKsChannel Which do you like more the Vader 3 Pro and G5 Pro when you've set up everything and enjoy more to play with overall not just fighting games (especially on a chill sunday after the Church/worship obligations :-) )?
I'd love to try the Apex 2 someday but it's not sold anymore (there's second hand but I'm not sure about the sellers coz' most don't have ratings)
go with the vader 3 pro, the app is more polished and it works great on most platforms@@SevenDeMagnus
The UA-camr Marius Heier plans to test how well made were SEGA first two Hall Effect switches, I would bet and hope there's no deadzone and will return in the middle at 0,0 coordinates & will be superior to all Hall Effect switches- I hope :-)
Thank you for lending me some of you time. God bless us gamers.
Can you review the Rainbow 2 SE? Theres no a single review on English only in Chinese
It is pretty much the same as the rainbow 2 pro but without the rgb leds and the app integration
Some reviews mention the B button particularly feels bad. What did you think?
Also I know lots of people are wanting hall effect sticks and this one has alps, but I think it has a centering function where the controller recalculates the center and outer ring. The Playstation 2 had this in its controllers.
Yes the b button feels slightly more resistant than the rest of them and that's because the B button hits a different board than the others resulting in a membrane that is taller on the B side
But the difference is very small, the real letdown of this controller is the dpad
Someone knows if i can use the elite series controller plugged as the original controller to make this controller works on Xbox series ?
Hello have a question, curious can you change the facebutton with stock xbox face button? I'm not really a big fan of the looks of external paint abxy like that so i might change it in the future.
No
@@VKsChannel ah aight, thanks for replying!
can it work with bigbig won r100 pro?
No hall effect on joystick and 4.5% circularity error is kind of deal breaker to me, bcs gamesir t4 cyclone pro can go about 0.7% if I'm not mistaken.
Still, can you configure/overclock this circularity error using the app or not?
The Vader 3 Pro has hall effect joysticks and a circularity error of 8-9%. Terrible yet it's still hyped up as one of the best controller.
Hall effect sticks last way longer but they are not as accurate for FPS games imo , depends what your looking for i suppose
so with the xbox workaround does this affect the polling rate or input latency in general??
I haven't tested lag but i didn't feel any difference
The workaround is just to fool the console into thinking it is an original controller so I don't believe it will have lag
VK, are you planning on doing a review for the Beitong ZEUS 2?
I would if I had the money to buy it 🤣
That thing's face button module is neat as hell.
@@Costinmusca Ok I have re-tested it and it does work on PC in plastation mode with the dongle but it will show up as "wireless controller"
the thing is you need to re-pair it to the dongle for every different mode, my switch mode was paired to the switch so it wouldn't even connect, the armor x only works paired to the dongle so there's no room for mistakes
so the short answer is
switch mode paired with the dongle you get a pro controller input
xbox mode paired with the dongle you get an xinput
playstation mode paired with the dongle you get wireless controller
If the modes are paired to something else you get nothing
here's a picture of the PlayStation mode inputs without any button pressed

Thanks for taking the time and confirming this 👍
EDIT: One more VERY IMPORTANT detail though.. just to be sure:
When Connected as the Switch Pro controller to the PC, will the Gyro act as Gyro (its own 6 axis 3 translation / 3 rotation axes) or will it emulate the controller's right Analog Stick (X/Y axes) ?
The right gyro resets to 0 because it is used to simulate native gyroscopic aiming, and when aiming you want it to go back to 0 or else the aim would be turning left or right forever on the left stick it doesn't reset to 0 because it is generally used to control racing games or flight simulators and in those cases when you turn the controller you don't want the position of the stick to go back to 0
I connect this controller to ps4 wirelessly, but the connection breaks after playing for a short time. I connect it with the adapter that comes in the box. What is the problem please answer...?❤❤
Do not disconnect the controller
It must. Remain connected and turned on at all times
I only use the adapter that comes out of it by connecting it with the dualshock. Can I solve it with the BBW R100 pro apparatus?
Did you find the answer ?
Xbox kontrolfreeks work on this controller?
For use gyro on pc or android you need press special button or he work automatic ?
For simulated gyro you need to enable it
Awesome and very detailed review. But now I dont know what to choose between this controller or Gulikit 2 Pro, what do you suggest? I mostly play games like Forza and Openworld games (Watchdog, GTA, Sleeping Dogs)
Go with flydigi vader 3 pro
Review is coming tomorrow
@@VKsChannel honestly those two controllers are in my budget, I hope I can afford the Vader 3 pro. I will wait for your videos
@@ZaldyZainvader 3 pro is like 50 on temu
hi thinking about getting this for the nintendo switch, can you bind the extra buttons to +/- and is there a screenshot button ?
Yes and yes!
thank you @@VKsChannel
better than vader 3 pro?
No... sadly I really wish this controller could beat flydigi's
oh how come? looks like it has better input delay and less stick error than vader 3 pro, and has dongle for xbox @@VKsChannel
@@rcio29 will be getting this one in two weeks and thje apex 4 on release, will let you know whichj is better for fps games
Una pregunta se puede usar el giroscopio con ese control en pc???
If you use it on switch mode yeah
Qué es el modo switch???
Does it come with a hall effect?
So its possible to get stick drift
No hall effect
@@VKsChannel but does it get stick drift buy the time or no ?
Can someone please tell me if you can use the extra 4 buttons as unique buttons or not? Thanks.
No you can only use them as extra shortcuts
@@VKsChannel Thanks for answering my question. It's too bad, because this could have been a great controller. It's useless compared to Flydigi controllers + reWASD software.
@@Midori_Hoshi I told them about d-input, and they said that in the newest firmware of the app you can map the backbuttons as keyboard keys

@@VKsChannel That's very cool.
@@VKsChannelI’m confused on what you mean here, are you saying with this controller connected to PC you can now remap buttons to keyboard buttons through the phone app? Just like the big big won rainbow SE?
Good review as always. I'd probably go with the Blitz instead of this one, but then i have to choose between Blitz, mobapad chitu, or the new Easysmx X10, ah decisions 😅
I’m using it on ps5 but it’s not letting me play fortnite. What should I do
is it the ps4 version of fortnite or the ps5 version?
it will only work with the ps4 version
It’s the ps5 version
How do I get ps4 version
Can you play wired on the Xbox for less latency ?
No, only with the dongle
How you test the Poling Rate I need the program to

Thanks for this and all controller reviews. I request you that could you check and share a review about BEITONG Asura 2 Pro Wireless Controller if it's possible?
I tried to contact beitong but they didn't want to get their controllers reviewed
So it works without an adapter on ps4 out of the box?
Yes but as i shown on the video you need at least an original controller to plug in the dongle
@@VKsChannelso I connected the dongle to the ps4, and I plugged the controller in, but the rainbow pro 2 seems to not connect, it keeps flickering
it is therefore compatible with an S series!! via the tab ??!! like the armor x pro!! it's crazy, because it is sold as not compatible and dedicated to Android, PC and Switch
Does it work with xbox series x?,or i have to buy an adapter for it?
It works the same as the series S
Did you watch the full review?
Yes,does it come with adapter usb, that I see on the video?
Not sure why mines not connecting to my Xbox series s
probably because microsoft blocked unnoficial third party controllers
www.pcmag.com/news/microsoft-appears-to-block-unofficial-third-party-accessories-on-xbox
Does it work on xbox wired and wireless
it works only with the USB dongle
@@VKsChannel ok but just wireless or can U play wired with the USB dongle
I gamesir G7 se it feels trash for aiming I've ordered rainbow 2 and new Gulikit kk3 max controller it new generation hall effect joysticks I hope it'll be good aim unlike trash g7 se joysticks.
This or V3P ?
V4P.
@@StardustLegacyFighter yah , quite late, got my V3P for 45$ ... Thank you for helping tho
this controller isn't mechanical right?
I have yesterday, 4 button and
L2-R2 don’t mechanic
Will I be able to play PS5 games with that controller?
no, only ps4 games
Lmao, so ppl are recommending this over the V4P, because ALPS joysticks are more accurate, yet the stick latency is so much worse (according to Gamepadla)?
FPS nerds will never cease to amaze me, as they always find something to complain about with controllers, instead of just admitting that they just suck.
I don't play many FPS games anymore, but nothing will ever be a more precise and satisfying input as KBM.
IM SORRY? PLAYSTATION TOO? I didnt know it could do that. No where does it say you can
And simulated gyro!? That's cool
pity there no app on ios:(
there is
I can't help but feel repulsed by clear controller cases lol
But the rainbow 2 pro is much better than the first one
You're trippin'. They're fun!
Generally I'd agree but this controller looks pretty good.
So to play this wireless on Xbox is pointless
He MUST have kailh ABXY then he could be better buttt as always market says NO
Ugly as hell, but I see it's well equipped.
My Vader 3 Pro finally arrived! It's as good as people say.
Does you left trigger in button mode have the same short travel distance as right trigger? On mine it have slightly longer travel distance.
@@maybebutwhatever
I'll test that and report back.
I mostly don't use button mode on the triggers.
@@maybebutwhatever
I've just tested and the left trigger in button mode has a little bit more travel.
how is this almost perfect? it's just another crap

it had the fastest polling rate at the time of the review, with trigger stoppers, cool rgb lights and a smartphone app
there are better ones now but this was awesome when it was released
