I LOVE this tutorial. The possibilities are endless. Thank You Sherri and Kimberly for this super cute and easy placemat pattern. I can make placemats to suit my décor and any holiday! I have been needing this!
This is a great video for making easy placemats. I can't wait to try this.
Love the simplicity of this pattern. It is perfect for all the lovely scraps that gather, along with the leftover charm squares. Also a special thanks for showing a close-up on how to make the center seam in the four-patch block lie flat. I always struggled with this. Great Video!
You had me on picking out the stitches. I assume this technique will work with many blocks to reduce bulk. Normally i lay my fabric on a piece of wood and hammer the center (esp on pinwheels) to flatten! :) I'm going to have to try Sherri's technique ! Love the fabric line and cute placemats. Perfect for gift giving! Thanks
What a great use of charm squares! Cute placemats. Great job, ladies.
Made them entirely with materials on hand since I can’t go to my quilt shop and bond with fabric I love. Very successful except for machine binding. I tried. Ended up doing it by hand.
Iam so excited with my sew sampler for July 2016. Fatquartershop is the best of any of the boxes that are sampler boxes. I also made this placemats. They are just so adorable. I would post a picture of them but I don't know. When I find out I will. Kimberly I just love your tutorials that you do. They are so easy to follow also. I do quilts , but also love doing small projects a lot. Well I have to go for now but you have a very nice day and everyone you work with😊✂️
Thank you so much Louise for your thoughtful words. We are thrilled you have enjoyed our Sew Sampler box. We have such a blast putting it all together for our amazing customers. Take care!

Excellent instructions, thank you ❤️

That was great! I’m going to have to try it!
Love this can I make a quilt like this? IF so what size would my borders be? Help. Thanks and take care.
Another great video...thanks ladies. Kimberly, what brand of iron is that? I like it. Thanks
Wish you would include your measurements for everything in the description or at the beginning of the video so i can quickly reference them. But anyways thanks for the video! I am going to try to make these.
Hi Kimberley - you mentioned at the end of the video you'd add a link to show binding but it's not there. Which video did you mean? Thanks :)
Hi Liz - here is a link to the binding video we suggested: ua-cam.com/video/VgaXP6kd8bc/v-deo.html Thanks for your question!
Thanks for that! I'm not great at binding and these placemats look like the perfect thing to practice on! Thanks for your fab fun tutorials :)
I’m stumped. I made my 4 patch squares. In the video when you see them to the larger squares they are the same size. Because of the row of stitching, the 4 patch is .5” smaller. Did you trim the larger square to 4.5 and leave that out of the video?
Fat Qtr folks…Help please. Do I need to cut them? Clueless beginner. Don’t want to mess them up.
Hello, I am totally new to Quilting 😋 how big are Charm Squares please?'😁 Erica x
Hello Erica! The Charm Packs are 5 inch squares
Do we need to wash the fabric beforehand?
Hello Elizabeth! No, we never recommend pre-washing for quilting fabric.
I couldn't find The Binding link
Do you have a printable copy of the tutorial?
Hello Ellie! No, there is not a printable pattern.
The link for binding tutorial doesn't work 😔
Is there a pdf of this or written down ?
We have the requirements listed here, but the video is the only place for the tutorial: blog.fatquartershop.com/how-to-sew-simple-zipper-bag-video/
Could you hand quilt this placemat?
absolutely!
Are there written instructions?
Hello Susan! We do not have written instructions available.
