I appreciate that you share ideas that do not require a purchased pattern. I do have my share of purchased patterns but do appreciate your expert teaching methods! I do not think I could read a pattern for this beautiful table runner and complete anything that looked like a runner! Ha! Thank you for all you do for us on your channel.
Absolutely wonderful! Thanks for sharing so many cool easy things to make quickly for gifts or personal use! I've enjoyed your videos for a long time now!
Laura, I just wanted to take this time and thank you for your tutorial on your grandkids reading pillows. I love them and made them for my grandkids and the looks on their faces when they opened their gifts and saw their picture on the pillow , it was priceless. Your tutorial made me a hit this Christmas. Thanks again, I love all your tutorials but that one was the best for my kids. Hope you have a blessed New Year.
I love the easy process. I want to make a Christmas, and other Holiday ones. I am using "snowman"fabric to make mug rugs and I love the back I am using also. This will solve my problem and look fantastic. Although I will be squaring up the ends. Thank you for the Tutorial.
The sad part is, we are lucky to find fabric that has 44 inches of usable fabric along the width. I would suggest for a bit of whimsy to add a coordinating piece of fabric to the center of the backing & carry on as if it was one piece of backing. Also could add to the pointed ends instead. I absolutely love this idea for a quick gift! Can't wait to make some Spring & Summer ones!
I love it!! I always do a self binding quilt and I use two different methods. This table runner uses the basic principles of one of the ways I learned to self bind, but it brings it to a whole new AMAZING level!! I think i need to make table runners for everyone as a post Christmas present. Thank you for always bringing amazing ideas to us.
Laura, thank you - now that the Christmas runner is coming off I was thinking about making a new one and this is perfect. I love watching your tutorials - they are so easy to follow. Happy New Year
Laura! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year toyou. You trully rock. I wanted new runners for my craft shows, I am heading to do a valentine one. Thank you so much
Laura, THANK YOU!!! This is the easiest table runner WITH BATTING that I’ve seen! Two years ago I was trying to make about 20 table runners for party gifts and had to give up because most of the “easy” patterns didn’t include batting instructions and I couldn’t figure out how to measure and insert the batting. New quilter here! 😖 And the patterns I found that included batting required binding them, which would’ve required too much time and frustration, especially since I was in a time crunch. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT and “Sew Very Easy”!! I adore you!! 🥰 *Question: Do you have a video very similar to this but with squared off ends, so it’s rectangle or square shaped, without the triangular end pieces? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
All you would need to do is make the center (charm pack area) as long as the backing. (44 in.or any length) Sew the ends shut but leave an opening to turn right side out. It will be square on the ends. Enjoy!
Hello Laura....absolutely wonderful! Just what I was looking for!!!! I've already made placemats from one of your older videos. I'd like to know how you quilt the table runner...so nice:) I believe I have the same sewing machine as you but have only had it for a year. I am new to sewing so have not done any free motion quilting. Do you do home visits?? In Michigan? LOL. Just kidding really. One of these days I'll have to try it. I appreciate your channel and all that you have been teaching me. Oh, and I am on my husband's UA-cam account, that is why the picture shows up with a guy with sunglasses. Sorry about that!
This looks like a good first quilting project for me. I mostly sew garments for myself but I’ve been wanting to learn how to quilt. Thanks for sharing. My plan is to double the length to fit my table. I hope that’s ok. I’m going to keep an eye on charm squares that would match my dinner table set. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the quick and easy instructions!! This is something I will make soon! It is a snow week, snow predicted through Friday! Great sewing weather, when I am not shoveling snow that is!!!! Happy New Year!
This is good. I’ve made table runners from Jordan Fabrics kits. I’ve also made self-border baby blanket. This tutorial takes both up a notch. Well done, Laura! Happy New Year!
First time quilter!! I used Valentine fabric from my stash & scraps. So far everything turned out great. But now I have to quilt and here is where I loose my confidence. I do not free motion quilt so where should I place my straight stitches? Should I stitch the ends close first and stitch in a ditch the 2 long seams?? How should I quilt the blocks?? Really don't know what to do next. Help!!
Just what I’ve been looking for. I do have a question though. At the beginning fo the video, you say he background fabric should be 44” but at the end of the video you say 441/2”. Which is it???? Thankyou so much for this video.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I am early in my sewing journey and this easy pattern is something I return to again and again. I have upscaled to 18 squares which suits my table better. I have to make any table runner presents in secret because my husband keeps claiming them!
That was wonderful 💕💕💕💕💕
WAY easier than the original pattern!!! Thank you! Absolutely beautiful!!
Ingenious !
I love this. I’m not a quilter but this is something I’d like to try. Thanks for sharing.
That is the absolutely best method of making a table runner! Laura, you're a genius!!
Gorgeous! No hand sewing is ok by me :)
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Love the fabric choice.
Beautiful project...and no binding! Thanks Laura.

You could just make the runner from 42" fabric. It would be a bit shorter, but hardly noticeable. 🤷♀
Great project. Thank you
I just did your table runner and it came out perfect. Thank you for your tutorial it was so easy to follow thank you Laura
Great tutorial.
Very nice! Thanks!
Love it. I will be making this project. Thanks.
Wonderful. Thankyou !
any tips to make this longer? I understand adding more squares, but how would I calculate the proper backing length? thank you for your great ides
I definitely will be making this table runner.
Another note- this reminds me of the 10 Minute Table Runner, however MUCH nicer & sophisticated! Greetings from Annandale, Minnesota, USA!
I always come back. :)
That is really pretty, I like using the 5” squares, yours looks very elegant
Love this video. You are direct,To the point and very easy to understand. Thank you

Hi Lynn. You said you have made something from a Jordan's pre cuts kit. How do/did you like it?
@@clairewyndham1971 They are very nice. Good instructions. I make one log cabin block first then chain the rest. Highly recommend.
I LOVE this! Do you think it would work to use Insul-Bright so hot dishes can be placed on it?
A lovely quick and easy runner. Thank you for sharing!
Great video, thank you for including the finished size. Will this table runner be in your new book?
