  • This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Do you have enough energy to live your life, work and even take a break? Pawel Urbanski shares his perspective on using a Pareto principle to use your energy in a fast changing world. Being a blind coach, speaker, entrepreneur and even climber and active golfer brought some unique hints he shares.
What is it like to lose your eyesight and then get exceptionally educated, climb Seven Summits and run your own business when it all seems impossible? At thirteen Paweł Urbański lost his eyesight within a period of 24 hours. but despite the obstacles he has never let himself to be ordinary. He is the first Polish blind person to climb Kilimanjaro and Mount Kosciuszko and to walk across the Spitsbergen glacier, inside the Polar Circle. He has climbed Mont Blanc, Elbrus and Aconcagua and his expeditions have inspired television documentaries.
While not out on adventures, he set up his own technology company where he deals with technologies from the perspective of their impact on business and society. He also uses his experiences in sport and business in his work as a coach. His newest challenges include Internet of Things and playing golf.
Paweł will talk about how to manage your energy and activity level by applying the Pareto principle to endure the increasing pace of change and the pressures of the modern world. Site: www.pawelurbans...

If he could have started this talk with what he ended with, wow, that would have been so much more powerful! Relating his loss of seeing, the 80% of what we supposedly perceive to the Pareto Principle, and that he has still been able to live his life from the 20%... I'm still pondering this meaning.

Aha ! ! ! I see,..... the magical 20 % that does the most! But the Pareto principle is never explained! What IF the 20% effort we are putting in... to get the amazing 80% results turns out to be the 80% that is wasted????
