- Dr. Wu received his Master's degree in Neuroscience from Duke University and earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University, focusing on research into learning and memory. He then began a 20-year career in Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota. Over the last 20 years, growing research from Neuroscience, Social Psychology and Behavioral Economics has been providing new insights on how the brain makes buying decisions. That gave birth to a new field, Neuromarketing. With his extensive knowledge and experience in both Neuroscience and marketing, Dr. Wu helps businesses grow revenues rapidly by guiding their customers to make informed decisions. This is one of the most enticing Ted Talk related to Marketing. The way we take decisions is really fascinating.
I remember an example of applied psychology in the workplace: dissatisfaction and frustration waiting for elevators was markedly diminished by placing full-length mirrors besides the doors.

Dr. Terry Wu is very insightful about the neuromarketing industry. I had the pleasure of actually speaking with him about this topic and he taught me so much. This video really sums up how neuromarketing effects the world around us and our decision-making process consciously and subconsciously. Great talk to get a taste of the neuromarketing world!

Neuromarketing has huge impact on consumer's buying decision. It tells us how even a slightest change which consumers won't even notice consciously, will affect their decision. Sometimes small things have a bigger impact.

I was so impressed with this presentation when I first saw it months ago, I had to come back and see it again for a refresher, Terry. Your insights and examples are incredibly valuable to all of us who spend our time in marketing and branding. The role of neuromarketing in our everyday lives is potent. "Find your fly" -- great ending
Really amazing how sometimes tiny, subtle changes in messaging or visual cues can so dramatically change consumer behavior! Sounds like this approach can be used in both commercial, profit-driven activities and also steering consumer and citizen behavior to more positive responses and results.
Is is hardly used for the latter though
