The first singer is Adam Chance, called Chance, baritone/bass (4 octaves); Rob Lundquist is second singer, tenor;Tim Foust is the bass, (5 octaves); Austin Brown is the high tenor, leads on Santiana: and Adam Rupp is the beatboxer/ tenor when he sings accompaniment with the others in 5 part harmony. They're all quite modest, down to earth people, which adds to their popularity. None of them take themselves too seriously, letting the song decide who sings lead. All four can sing lead and Chance takes bass when Tim sings.

Thanks for the double feature. The first medley was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another. The live version is great! We finally got a professional live recording! This is one of my favorite medleys. Fan recordings on their phones can never clearly capture the true sound. So glad Home Free did this.

Adam Chance (we call him Chance because of the beatboxer Adam Rupp), came up with the idea of the sea shanty. They filmed it and recorded it at their homes during Covid. It went viral and attracted Ubisoft (game maker) to them. They asked Chance to write a shanty for their new game Skull and Bones. It’s out now….Chance wrote a banger. Tim goes really low. There’s a lyric video which shows the game, a short live video for the Ubisoft crowd and now the official video. The game comes out next week. Tim is actually the group spokesman when they’re on tour. He’s got a great wit too. They were in the UK this past fall. You can look up videos from then. Good reaction CS!😍😄

Hi Charlie, thanks for a fabulous reaction! I've seen Home Free twice, once in London in 2018 and again last September 2023 in Manchester. I can attest that they are as great live as they are in the studio - I dare say even more so because of their stage energy! Tim is indeed a mild and very modest man, but he has (in his own words) a playfully abusive relationship with his audience and he is the main spokesperson for the group on stage. He's very quick witted! He is, as you know, the main bass singer, but (Adam) Chance is baritone and trades off bass when Tim sings lead. Adam Rupp is, of course, the beatboxer and he is phenomenally talented. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses) is their lead tenor and very versatile. He can rap, beatbox, sing all genres from soul, r&b to opera. Austin Brown is the high tenor (very long hair) and he has an exceptional singing voice. Do check out their live version of Josh Turner's Your Man from their Crazy Life tour (Russell Wolff Productions) for an example of their stage humour. Sorry for the essay! I didn't think I had that much to say... 🤣🤣

They are an absolute joy live - I'm a live music junkie and have been to dozens and dozens of live shows from Folk through Metal in multiple countries and Homefree are one of my favourites they make everything a party.. now.. Tim... modest yes, mild not so much, sarcastic, funny AF, dry and absolutely wickedly funny. He actually tends to be the MC at the shows. Just for your own amusement not for reaction look up Storytime with Tim and that will give you some perspective :-)

I was in the audience for the live version. Absolutely magical. 8400 people on their feet stompin, clappin' and singin'. And we got to hear it twice so they could ensure they had enough good camera footage. As you can see, their concerts are very electric, interactive affairs. Can't wait to see them again.

Ubisoft heard their Sea Shanty Melody and loved it so they approached Home Free with an amazing opportunity to write a shanty for Skull And Bones video game they are releasing soon Chance being the seafaring member jumped at the opportunity. They just released the official video 10 days ago but 7 months ago they released a Lyric video and sang a shorter version live at Ubisoft Live Premiere for the game
    Home Free Members
    Adam Rupp ( Beatboxer)
Tim Foust ( Bass ) Has 5 + octave range
Austin Brown ( High Tenor ) long wavy hair)
Rob Lundquist ( Tenor ) Beard & Glasses
Adam Chance Aka Chance ( Baritone/Bass ) usually wears a wool cap or baseball cap

A couple thousand people singing sea shanties along with an acapella group...How great is that?! I hope they give us more professional live concert videos in the future. I'd like to suggest a luve performance called " Home Free's Your Man- Crazy Life Tour". It is an older video so it has Chris Rupp ( the founder of the group and Adam, the beatboxer's brother) instead of Chance but It will give you an example of their sense of humor.and of Tim's ( the bass) talent. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.

One of my favorite live recordings is Home Free's "Go Rest High On That Mountain (Church Sessions)". I especially like this song by Home Free as it shows off Adam Chance's beautiful low Bass tones. They make my soul feel better whenever I hear their harmonies.

On Tim's website, he is described as "a sardonic - yet sensitive - singer-songwriter, who doesn’t take himself too seriously." And truthfully that's a really good description of Tim's personality. To me (and I've been following them for 10 years) Rob is the Poppa bear of the group complete with dad humor. He is just this sweet, loving guy. As Austin has said, "I can't imagine anyone not liking Rob"

You might be interested in some fan videos of "Storytime with Tim". It's a section they used to include in their live shows (I don't know if they still do) which really shows Tim's personality. He is as good a comedian as he is a singer, and of course he has that voice... 😍 His humor is very dry and the style appeals to me.

  • @margfried8796
    @margfried8796 9 місяців тому +3

ok if you pause your video at 11:56 from left to right. Adam Chance ( called Chance because of Adam Rupp) he's the baritone/bass. Next is Rob Lundquist-tenor. In the middle is Austin Brown-high Tenor. Next is the founder of the group and the beatboxer Adam Rupp. Lastly Is Tim Foust the bass with the 5-octave range. Those last 3 you will see with different hair lengths depending on the year. For instance, Tim cut his hair short and let the gray come in naturally right after lockdown. Every few years Adam Rupp lets his hair grow long so he can then cut it and donate to a children's cancer charity. Austin's hair is never short but it does vary in length and he sometimes wears it tied up in the back so it looks short from the front.

They are the only band I ever saw that was better live.
Tim is not exactly mild, he is the MC of the group and a sarcastic and sassy guy.
But all of them put the music before their own ego and all of them are proud of the talents of their band mates. They have their sideprojects because being a touring musician is clearly not enough occupation...

I’m new to the channel but I really like what I see and hear. Not sure if this is the correct place for requests or not. Artist Peter Hollins does some incredible arrangements. He has performed with Home Free as a group and featured Tim Foust in his albums as well. I believe he is someone you would enjoy listening to. One of the songs with Peter Hollins and Tim Foust is Misty Mountains.

They call their concerts 'parties' and now you can see why. It fills my heart to see all the generations together having the best of times!! They are so good with their fans, taking cameras off people from the front and doing selfies, all whilst singing. Yes Tim Foust is a very kind and funny person. Look at That Singer reactor who Tim invited to a concert. He told us he was so humble and chilled, inviting him backstage anx very attentive. Their From the Vault series of behind the scenes gives you an insight. Nana Karen UK

Vocals and video were done from home and then put together by their producer Darren Rust and Jimmy, the videographer put the video together from their home videos. The Christmas concert in Mankato,Mn ,December 2022,was amazing! It was my granddaughter's Christmas present. We were in the front row,met the guys and can be seen in the video. Tim Foust is not at all mild and modest. Quite the contrary. At their concerts, he's their spokesman and a magnificent storyteller. Lots of videos on YT if you want to see his true personality. Adam Chance goes by Chance to distinguish him from Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. This was filmed at a venue in Mankato, Minnesota, the home place of the group. It was performed twice and the best of each recording was edited into the version you see of the live show. As for the early lockdown version, each guy recorded their part at home (they each had their own little setup...). They didn't get together for studio work during that time. They made a point of continually providing new songs to their fans while everyone was stuck at home. Check out some of their amazing videos from those couple years.

Haha well there we go. I told you I'm not a body language specialist. Clearly my radar is way off. Although, to be fair, mild and modest doesn't at all mean you wouldn't be a spokesperson or storyteller. It just means you're gentle mannered and not up yourself

    • @cmitchell7347

@@TheCharlieSmithChannel Tim has a quick, dry wit which some may not get, at first. His interaction with audiences is very nuanced...colorful, at times, although not to the extent of being inappropriate, IMO. He's also been outspoken about some of his political views ..which ended up alienating some fans. But, hey, he's entitled to his opinion.

Tim is modest and if by mild you mean not seeking the spotlight for himself, then yes. He is sort of the dad of the group as he is the oldest. He has many years experience with acapella groups, including one called the Alley Cats where they fully interacted with the audience. Tim shines in this capacity, filling audio mishaps with stories, often with a sharp sense of humor. Adam Rupp is the beatboxer and does Drum Solos at every show. Adam Chance usually wears a hat and has that wonderful baritone voice. Austin Brown is the high tenor with long hair. He can sing such pure high tones. Rob Lundquist is the tenor that can bring the soul to a aong.

Charlie, this was perfect for you to hear & see, THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL. I've been to see them 3 times in concert, this past April in Ft Meyers, FL, a 2 1/2 hour drive for me, but I was happy to do it. Adam Chance, he is the singing Adam, is just referred to as Chance so there is no confusion. He has an awesome great baritone voice, but also drop low for a very solid bass that then allows Tim to work in his higher range. To hear more of Chance react to his original song he wrote called Skull & Bones - the video is a masterpiece...also great Chance leads include ; Cover me up, Think a Little Less, Finally Free & Workin' for a livin.

Seeing young kids at a concert is not very common ! Home Free is PG at their worst and you can't say that for most groups or singers these days ! I've seen them live and they are one of those groups that can recreate their recorded version . Adam will sometimes use a loop station to get all of his music - sounds out there during a concert , but the sounds are all coming from him and are not prerecorded ! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole , it's a very crowded place , but there's always room for another Homefry !!

I saw them live a couple of years ago in Dallas. The theater was smaller than their usual venue. Their performance was robotic. I guess the small venue didn't warrant their full effort. Rupp actually chastised the audience for cheering while he was setting up for his solo. Rude. I LOVE Home Free but this performance left me a bit disappointed.

Adam is such a really talented beat boxer. it really is sad that in the live performance that as you can plainly see he did NONE of it live. it was all done on the loop station. If you look back on some of the less professional recordings when Adam does do the beat boxing live it was much better. to me Live means performed right then not recorded and then played at that moment. Also a capella does not include the use of any electronic or musical instrumentations. some say a loop station isn't a musical instrumentation bc it's a recording of the beat boxer doing his thing. But i would argue, that i's a mechanical machine adding a recording of a musical sound that would not otherwise be there. you can expect that on a cd. reord, or video. not a live performance. jmo
