I wish we had someone like yourself where I live. Guessing your in UK. The land that knows what good bikes are. Here where I live everyone likes Harley Davidson. My pops included. He definitely drinks the kool-aid
Just come across this after reading online about 2017+ gsxr 1000 having a potential issue with snapped crankshafts when used high up in revs like on track hopefully not a common issue as im looking at buying one
You'd lose the tolerance required for it to fit perfectly in the engine. It would likely just wiggle free from the bearing and cause even more wear and damage
@@jhsracingltd4924 appreciate the heads up. I just bought a 2018 gsxr 1000R two months ago. I had a perfectly running 2005 gsxr 1000 I sold and helped pay for my new gsxr. I read some forums about a couple modern gsxr 1000 having snapped crankshafts. Kind of maid me worried after having spent so much money on my new bike. Good to know it's a rare case. I had very good luck with all of my prior gsxr over the past 25 years. My 05 gsxr 1000 being absolutely bulletproof. I had almost 60k on it when I sold it. The only thing that ever happened to my 05 in 15 years was a bad water pump and a few batteries of course. I maintain all my vehicles very well. Hope this gen is as robust as the old. Take care and have fantastic weekend

did you buy one?😄
What would happen if you tried to machine that?

What year and is this a known issue on this generation?
This is very rare and normally found in crashed bikes.
