2025 Toyota Crown Signia Quick Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 чер 2024
- The Toyota Crown Signia is might finally be the wagon version of the Crown we've been waiting for. Except, it doesn't get a very powerful engine, and at US$51,000, 240 horsepower isn't much. But considering Crown is a younger brother to Lexus, perhaps the Signia makes it up elsewhere. So, does it? James and Thomas take to Southern California to find out.We hope you enjoy the episode. #Everything #Means #Crown
Car companies seem determined to make everything but a wagon and consumers in the USA seem determined to buy anything but a wagon. But wagons are the inevitable conclusion to all these oddly proportioned CUVs, large hatchbacks, and coupe SUVs that have been on the market the last 20 years. The Crown Signia is evidence of that. SUVs and sedans have strayed so far from their intended purpose that they are beginning to look like the station wagon that American millennials and gen-xers (incorrectly) fled from in the 90s and 00s. Embrace the wagon. It’s not the sport utility vehicle you want, it’s the sport utility vehicle you NEED.
Car companies are staying away cos of emissions requirements. You get more leeway with bigger cars hence the increase in car sizes over the years. Toyota have only 2 sedans and like 6 suvs. Most manufacturers have slowly just made their sedans boring for the same reason. They really don't need another suv
Agreed. CUVs keep getting lower and sleeker. Now they're just slightly lifted wagons! Or wagons masquerading as CUVs, like the Crosstrek or Outback.
I ask random people if I can if they like wagons. Yet to find one tbh.
I really like having decent ground clearance and such. I am baffled why CUVs keep getting lower and sleeker. I find sedans/cars to be so useless as they are so unnecessarily low.
Also you say NEED. Cars have never been about what people need. If that was the case sport cars, luxury cars, coupes, sedans, hatchbacks wouldn't exist. We would all be driving very boxy kei car looking things that are the most practical use of space and the body. Exactly what people need.
Trying to say people should buy cars based off what YOU think they need is irrational. Car buyers have never been a "logical" bunch. 95% of folks would want a car they find cool or attractive vs what they actually "need"
People hate wagons. The only future for wagons is in the guise of the Outback. You can see how well it does vs the dissapointment of stuff like the Buick Regal wagon, VW wagons, and the rest of the German, Swedish wagons. They simply don't appeal to folks. If people are spending thousands of dollars they will get what they find the most attractive.
💯% True
Couldn't agree more. They're coming back to the light. Wagon is life.
At this point I watch throttle house just because it's throttle house. I don't even care about what car
Kind of the same here. A CVT Toyota wagon and I actually thrilled....for a moment.
Same
that's called quality brand
Amen
not me i care about the car and thrrottle housing
Lmao finishing on "are you sure it doesn't mean crown?" was the right choice.
should have ended on “are you sure it does not mean...”
I was waiting for that the whole video.
And then I look down and see the hashtags, it was perfect
i dont get it 😅🙃
@@StonedNoob It goes back to another video where they explain how all Toyota names mean "crown". 😅
A wagon Crown that should’ve had the Hybrid Max, Toyota just knows how to give you almost everything you want
I agree but look at the crown sedan. They did that and they are barely selling. The only ones I've seen have the hybrid max on dealer lots and they just sit there. The 4 I've seen on the road didn't have that badge on the back. So I think Toyota is probably seeing how this one sells since it will more likely sell better as it has more usable space and looks more like an SUV. I really like this lineup and hope it succeeds since it really stands out among the other stuff they sell. It is a shame though that it does come with last gen hybrid technology
@@midnitestate crown sedan is too expensive. Sits in a very competitive price point even within their lineup
@@midnitestate too expensive, the premium that Toyota is asking for without the lexus badge. The market is going to be people with too much money but don't want to show off their wealth while also not wanting any fun? So high income middle class families and seniors? Tough sell in the US
Gotta save something for the mid-model refresh.
That's not a wagon, it's another crossover.
as another 6'6" man, I really appreciate your sound man, Harrison! although he rarely makes on-camera appearances and they are always brief, his contributions don't go unnoticed!
Hope the crown line continues, it's has a lot of the lexus comfort and less lexus luxury gimmicks. Perfect for me at least
Perfect timing guys, i just packed my crack pipe
Lol
Seriously hit the bong, when this came up 👀
Ha-ha-ha 🤣🤣🤣, that’s funny man!)
you would need to be high to pay 50k for an entry level base 2025 Toyota Crown Signia. If you choose a higher trim and include taxes and fees, you'll be paying 60k
Are you saying that you would have to be on crack to buy a Toyota wagon.
Oh good I needed something to watch on the... erm, new cinema room.
🚽👀😂
You’re on the can, aren’t you?
@@JOP708 ah... yes.
I loved the bit they did about this. I forget which review it was.
I thought this was a SavageGeese comment section for a minute.
Who on Earth did Toyota hire currently? Their designs are so beautiful now
Honestly all four Crown designs look great (Yes, even the Lifted Sedan one if it's not using the two-tone paint).
I wonder if they will ever put the classic Sedan to other markets since that one is the best out of all of them.
@@AbrahamArthemiusI saw a sleek blacked out one and it looked fantastic. The two tone paint ruins the car
Me
@@07Lightless Yeah, it's mostly how they apply the two-tone tbh. Making it stretch into the hood & boot just makes the grille look even bigger than it needs to be.
That’s a small Lexus TX, stop being a tool
I want the smaller Crown Sport.
In the Japanese watch world, you have Seiko, King Seiko, and Grand Seiko. Maybe Crown will be Toyotas King Seiko?
It is kinda like that, good catch.
These days, Seiko is becoming King Seiko
@@pheldy34 Yeah very soon you won't find a new model for less than $1,000. You can easily spend $7-10,000 on a Seiko.
Credor = Century
Emperor Seiko?
To me, it looks great. Both inside and out. Sadly, we won't be seeing this in the UK.
It looks like a rav 4 and a honda crv had one night stand
Just yesterday, the Buick TourX started appearing in my world. Online, someone mentioned it, then later in the day I saw one for the first time in my neighborhood. The thing was discontinued 4 years ago, yet it looks amazingly modern and fresh.
If the future is station wagons (again), I wonder if Buick made a mistake killing the TourX off so quickly.
Toyota should've brought over the Crown Sport to North America instead. It's a much more compelling car or at least make a Prius Cross that looks exactly like the Crown Sport but smaller and at a lower starting price
You... are currently describing the CHR
It makes no sense from a business stands point. You guys are obsessed with gigantic vehicles. I doubt it would sell.
Brother, did you write the exact same comment on this and the TheStraightPipes vid??
@@wadeaiello3261 TRUE
@@wadeaiello3261 you saw it too?
If Harrison sits comfortable then it’s a outstanding day Well done guys. Y’all are the goats. Karston love you too champ. I see your greatness too
I really enjoy the out the windshield view.
Great way to end! Thanks for the video.
Also love the outros so much ❤
haven't even watched it yet but I already know its gonna be great!
Beautiful car by all standards. I love it!!!
Signia is also a City in Italy , in the area of Lazio, close to Rome , known for its wine.
Idk y but I love how you guys just cut very unexpectedly at the end of extra it very much fits this channel
Wish you did a full video on this because me and the wife are looking into the Crown hard
Ah nice a 4am upload! Sleep can wait till tomorrow anyway 😢
I'm 6'6" and I owned 2 Venza's, in 2011 and and 2014 and I fit in the driver seat just fine. In fact it was the most comfirtable car I've driven at the time.
I seriously never understand the complaints about not fitting in a modern car. My father is 6'4" and fits in the camry just fine with zero height issues, he has like 2 extra inches of clearance. People who say they don't fit, are probably picking some strange seating position....
I believe that people who are not really tall do not appreciate the struggle to find a car they can not only fit in, but also be comfortable.
yeah I don't know what ppl moan about being too big for cars while Shaq drives around in a smart car.
@@BradThurber yes, it's nice to sit in a vehicle and not have the knee caps pressing against the dash
Not every person has the same dimensions
I really wish they brought the crown sedan to North America… it looks so nice
If you’re talking about the new one, it is. Theyre just rare cuz few ppl bought them
@@ggromi2983I believe that’s technically the crown cross. The crown sedan is a big sloping roof sedan
@@ggromi29830:33 he is referring to the sedan second from the right… not that abomination on the left
Isn't that a rebadged Mirai?
It's both - they have a hydrogen version based on the Mirai, and a gas hybrid based off of the previous gen Crown drivetrain.
Honestly I would get this version instead of the vanilla Crown. Looks better and we’re lacking in wagons.
Some sections of those roads looked super video-gamey, in a good way.
The gopro suction mount ring is visible in the Straight Pipes video 🙂
Wagons are back baby!!!! Still waiting for VW to bring back the alltrack.
the alltrack and the a3 allstreet need to come to the US
It's not a wagon!!
@@deet4895 It's a Camry wagon. They just wont market it as such for obvious reasons.
@@Tokamak3.1415 You'll believe anything you're told huh? Smh 🙄
@@Tokamak3.1415 It is 6.5 inches taller than the Camry. It is a shorter Highlander, not Camry wagon.
6.7" of ground clearance. So close to a wagon. But a Buick regal tourX had a ride height of 5.8". And that was a "lifted" wagon
GR version lowered to 5" and some form of iforce max powertrain would be a spicy family hauler
Spicy in the way kids think mint toothpaste is spicy, but still something
Well, I’m glad to see something similar to a wagon making some inroads (hopefully). I dint find it very attractive from the front, which could change with time, but that back, three-quarters view is surprisingly alluring.
Looks cool outside and nice inside and out . Nice job Toyota.
Luxury space and efficiency. Sums this up
Send in the Crowns!
Don't bother, they're here
@@berniemadoff7837we're still missing two of them
@@aprtur
No, it's a take on the Broadway classic SEND IN THE CLOWNS.
"Are you sure it doesn't mean crown" best outro ever !!!😂😂
Wait, they don’t make the Venza anymore?¿ 😟
Yes!
Perfect timing was just about to eat
Exactly the same here
We wanted the crown sporttt!!
I'll be honest, I love this thing. Whoever is designing the current Toyota's is doing a good job. I'm curious what Harrison drives??
I'm just happy it is called The Crown.
Hopefully you guys will get your hands on the sedan version , it's amazing 👏
Do you guy's have any plans on doing the t Toyota corolla cross anytime soon
I need the hybrid max power train
Beautiful
Long Cool Woman is such a dope song lol 4:40
I think it's a good car, I think a lot of people SHOULD by this car because it is probably exactly what a lot of people need but I dought they will
Yay another crossover
Oh man wish itnwas longer or a regular TH video
Yep. Needed the hybrid max
9:05 my first thought when the said the name 😂
this over the tlx type s is a crazy call
Man a Venza daily and a second project car is my current goal
☕☕Happy Thursday
Im a b1tch for Soul Red Crystal as well ❤ love it ...the best non hyper/ultra luxury car colour
I would love to see you guys compare this to the newest Lexus competitor
I wish it had some of the exterior features like the Japan version.
Candy apple red, back in the day
Wow this is cool, bring this to the UK
This won't even fit on your third world country roads:)
But the Range Rover and Lambo Aventadors do?
I like that the dash is much simpler. My '19 Camry is so jam packed full of buttons and information. They duplicate the information everywhere. I have 4 places that tell me what speed I'm going.
Harrison allowed in front?! Woohoo! More of that for us normal sized (6’6”) people like him!
I'd like to see a "Ten cars Harrison fits into" video!
Normal sized people? 6'6"? I hate to break the news to you. You're anything but "normal"! The average persons height is 5'6" for males. 5'2" for females. So, I wouldn't hold my breathe for car companies to cater to a subset of the population if I were you.
normal sized? you're giants and taller than 99 percent of people around you
@@sachinnair91Nah, just the rest are short. Being 6'6" everyone looks like a child to me.
@@misha030302 hey, at least you can have any woman you want. Wherever you go, a long line of women assemble to sleep with you. Women love tall men and hate short men!!
This is pretty great! When Toyota launched the Crown here is was like "Yeah, it's a Crown, a luxury Toyota from Japan, this will be pretty interesting"
But then they came out with the Crossover model (The Sedan SUV), and I just was not attracted to it, but now? With the actual SUV model? Now I REALLY like it. If you want an SUV just go full on SUV and enjoy all of your space :)
Actually, I am surprised, I would have thought that out of the whole Crown range the ones that Toyota would export were the Luxury Sedan model (Just called the Sedan) and this full SUV model (called the Estate), but yeah, pretty happy with this :)
Also, Thomas, this is pretty great looking, an amazing color and an extraordinarily good looking car with that color, but this isn't as good as Soul Red Crystal metallic, it's as good as Soul Red (Used from 2012-2016) but it's not quite as good as Soul Red Crystal (Introduced with the 2017 CX-5, the evolution of Soul Red.) because a big part of Soul Red Crystal is the MASSIVE differences in the light and dark areas of the paint let's say it has an extremely sharp contrast making it as elegant and as good with reflections as we know it to be, this is an amazing color but it doesn't doesn't have that contrast.
What in the Bolt EUV in the front😮
Good breakfast video
Beautiful EV Fisker 😮
Thanks guys! I wouldn't take one of these if it was free but your content is always entertaining.
I wished we got the Crown Sport in the US
This basically has interior trim quality near Lexus levels doesn’t give me the surprise of the price tag, however it’s a much better design than the raised sedan version, good job Toyota
Compare with Venza, new Signia missing electrical frost roof, auto rain sensing sensor, electric steering adjustment and less ground clearance, less fuel efficient, 0-60 slower. But it cost 12k more. Do you think it is good value for just new look?
Live long and prosper!!!🖖
This reminds me of my all-time favorite car, a 2003 Audi Allroad. Best all-around car that I’ve ever owned, an automotive version of a decathlete - it was good at everything. This won’t have the Allroad’s speed and superb high speed road manners, there’s no adjustable height suspension, and it’s not as classy - but it’ll be more economical and more reliable. It’s definitely not for younger folks (neither was the Allroad), but for us more “mature” fellas it’s an interesting proposition as a daily driver. Still wish it had the Hybrid Max, which I’m told has a proper automatic instead of the rubbish CVT that’s on this model.
What happened to the ending of the video ?
I really hope Honda saw this and started working on a new Crosstour. I loved my 2014 Crosstour, just wished it had Andriod Auto and a few other modern techs
I have a 2013 Venza and this is what I’m waiting for. Toyota has to come out with a Platinum Hybrid Max.
Is that red sliver on the driver door where the rubber lip is folded under bothering anyone else?
Do we know when these cars will be at us dealerships in big numbers?
I would kill for an 812 superfast video from you guys
So is their Crown line up supposed to be their mid-tier/sub brand just with the Toyota badge? Much like how GMC is position between Chevy and Cadillac?
How many small CUVs does Toyota offer now? 6? 7?
many, I am also lost count.
There's the Yaris Cross, the Corolla Cross, the CHR, the Fortuner, the RAV4, the Harrier/Venza, the BZ4X
"Why does the Crown look like that?" 🤣🤣🤣💪🙏
Power to weight ratio, tire to weight ratio?
I don't think anyone was asking for a car like this
On my television, at certain angle, the color looks like it has some pink in it. I wonder if it’s like that in person, or just my screen.
The thing where you can’t decide if it is a wagon or an SUV is the same I feel about my EV6. I just call it an XL Wagon, feel like this is even more SUV-y than the EV6 in appearance at least.
Is a reasonably priced wagon with +300 hp in our future? A man can dream
the ratio of a lot of body to a little bit of window is distinctly what makes a crown now that this is out
It's actually about an inch *shorter* than the Highlander. 194.1" vs 194.9"
I’m not sure anybody buys a Camry for the speed. You buy the Camry because it’s sensible. You don’t care about cars other than as transportation. You buy a wagon in the states because of the practicality or if you’re living on the edge, because it’s a little retro. Great review.
That closing question was buring in my mind the entire video
I read it as "Sigma" am I cooked😂😭🙏
I thought so too. I need to log off for the day
Brainrot 😂
It’s on its second month of grinding gears, just built differently
Actually really love it, looks good would be awesome here in Europe.
Great video
This looks like a Gen 1 Venza body. I was completely happy with the current Venza. This might have a better trunk size, but the Venza was thousands less. Thats the whole point of the Venza. Fully loaded a Venza was about 45k. This starts at 45k. Seems like Toyota just didnt want to sell the Venza so low
Please do a head to head with Honda and Toyota minivan. I hear in the United States they’re everywhere.
I think the Limited trim is a compelling reason to buy one over say, the Mazda CX-70 or CX-90. Wow.
Would love to a comparison to the Lexus ux300
Perfect for airport taxi
Loads of Lexus creature comforts but at a discount. Would this be just an RX450h with Toyota logo?
Loving the sporty look. But, why not classified as a crossover? The original Crown badging needed to be kept. Esp if it's going to be priced close to the Grand Highlander or base Lexus models.
When you want a Toyota Sienna but don't want to be seen in a minivan... you get this. If there's no waitlist on this it seems like a viable option for smaller families, otherwise just buy the minivan.
