- How to play and sound like Dimebag on guitar? I decided to make lessons to ALL PanterA / Dimebag's solos within a year.
I launched this lesson / tutorial series so that You can learn Dimebag’s playing style through His solos and riffs using new and effective methods to understand the depth and the Soul of His by focusing on the details and nuances Dime put in every note He ever played.
Tuning: I tune these lessons to 440Hz E or D instead of the 425Hz "PanterA tuning"

Came from Ola's vid... dude you're like a treasure of knowledge thank you so much!!!! Wow! Thank you!!! I'm so happy I'll watch all your Dimebag stuff this is amazing!!!
Welcome here my Friend! Thanks for the kind feedback, and woww that sounds like a loot of video to watch :))
@@AttilaVorosOfficial hell yeah, that guy is absolutely right, I agree with Him, Attila yours is a great way to dilute the tricks and maybe secrets how to approach Dimebag's style in the best possible way, congratulations
your videos are really like a dear guide how to approach these shredding and soloing techniques .... great video tutorial on how to play becoming ... but I would like to understand, if possible, which tuning is your guitar set? could you tell me which tuning if in Eflat or in standard D?
thanks lot
getcha pull
cheers
have you seen his tribute band to Pantera? OMG!!!!
@@Markbag_33 Pantera used D tuning (425Hz) for Becoming. Attila just used Eb in this lesson 🤘🏽
Thank you❤
That chorus riff is by far one of the heaviest riffs going. So simple but so much power behind it.
I agree, it is soo heavy but understandably it's not the one riff in the song people would reference... still it is super heavy and catchy imo ;)
The chorus riff is my favorite Pantera riff. Every time i hear it i cant avoid headbanging.
Ik it’s my new favorite song right now because of that riff
You probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the new movies on Instaflixxer. Been streaming with my brother lately :)
@Royal Kian yup, have been using instaflixxer for months myself =)
Dimebag was a genius when it comes to guitarwork! This guy invented his very own unique sound, which makes him simply brilliant! May he rest in peace! He is gone.. but not forgotten!
The intro riff whammy is possibly one of the best to ever be paired with the double kick drum .........
Oh finally some proper explanation regarding the iconic "cat meowing" bend.
Who's here from Olas channel? let's gooo! Thank you for the lesson!
Keep rocking folk my greetings from Mexico city , and one more thing heavy metal never dies
Muchas gracias mis Amigos!!! Getcha pull!
@@AttilaVorosOfficial gracias amigo , are you from italy?
Just saw them last night in Detroit Zack gave dime all the love
Legend has it Atilla used to teach Dime how to play his riffs 😂
This guy is fucking phenomenal 🤘💪✅
Doesn't get any better than this for a dime dimebag tutorial! Thank you. Ola sent me over here 🤘🏻
Very good lesson! Thank you
Really enjoying this live dime thank you for all of this great work keep him alive
Outstanding sir 👏
All time great riff
Is amazing how you pick every detail in pantera songs
Awesome dude
Such good effects too man! Dun - dun - taa!
The best lesson of this song. Amazing. Congratulations 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for showing the chorus part a little more precisely, and that little trick with the whammy at the sliding part is just the cherry on the top, thanks again!
very nice lesson, thank You
First person I've seen to start the chorus correctly! Nice job dood.
I have just discovered your channel, and as a big Dime fan I have to say that you have the best or the closest Dime play I have ever seen on youtube! I'm learnig a lot with you! Thanks! Cheers from Brasil!
Yes!!!! Thats what IM talking about! Keep the Pantera songs coming!!!! So hard to get these songs correct and your version is awesome!
Thanks for all your hard work bro,!
Youre a life saver, as bad as it sounds ive been playing alot of this stuff wrong forever or never figured it out correctly, its like I've found the holy grail of pantera instructional videos thanks to you so gratitude 🙏 my brother
Ola Englund sent me.
Cool man, and welcome, it's very nice of Him!
Man! You’ve got a great ear, it’s really impressive how you’ve picked up on all these little nuances and it’s really impressive to see just how much feel done put into his music. I always thought I put a lot of expression and slight pitch shifts into my playing, now I kinda feel like I need to reevaluate myself and my sense of expression. Thanks man, absolutely excellent content!!
Cool bro!
Wow, Thanks man! I also got here from Ola's vid, and I have learned something maybe simple for some, but new to me! And that's the fact that the plpinch harmonics get higher the closer you go to the bridge. Amazing!
Came from Ola's video. Sick video man 🤘 Definite sub now!!
Badass I love how you capture that dimebag heat of the moment kind of feel. That's exactly how it's done. At 16: 07 Funny when you say it's so intentional and the guitar unintentionally squeaks and your face heh
I love these videos. You are insane Attila!
Thank You Jesse!
Thank u so much for the lesson!!
Thank You!;)
Here he strikes again!!
OMG..... MY BROTHER FROM ANOTHER GRANNY....I HAVE TO ADMIT YOU AND OLA ENGLUND ARE 2 OF THE MOST BADAZZZZ GUITARIST ON THE PLANET... AWESOME SHI$
I came from Ola, but i have seen you earlier than that, saw your tribute band and after that started watching you! A beast! ;)
hey bud ola sent me. this should be fun
awesome as always man my favorite was the solo of floods you did justice on that
Thank You!
I'll definitely do that again as well with more details explained ;)
Great lesson,i always see your videos, i like to see strength beyond strength lesson 🤘. Cheers from argentina
Muchas gracias mi Amigo! Will definitely do that! ;)
Ola Englund !! From 🇧🇷
I honestly believe this is the sickest riff of all time. The guitar and drums are so complex but also so simple?
To make this a truly perfect song (imo) I'd change the lyrics from "Jesus" to "resource" 😂 🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@skepsisology same with me
I change it to "JASON"
As a huge fan of Pantera, I really enjoy every single tutorial you doing dude!!!
🤘🤘🤘
Thanks my Friend, I'm happy to hear that!
17:47 his enthusiasm kills me. 🤣
I have to sub now.
One word. Subscribed.
Another one: thanks! :)
Respect! Ola'z link sent me ,My time not wasted ,gas was worth every penny man ,, ,,shred on!
Man. Found your video of Hard Lines Sunken Cheeks solo, which is amazingI I can hear, you've spent a lot time with this music ;) Love the way, you explain playing all this stuff. Thank you ;)
Thank You for the kind feedback, I'm happy to hear if these videos help in any way!
I haven’t touched a guitar since I was like 12, and don’t remember a damn thing about it, but I still enjoyed this for some reason lol
Ola sent me, I subbed. \m/
Efcharisto poly! This is just what I needed when I recently got a whammy for christmas. :D
Thanks Jakob! And enjoy Your Whammy pedal, such an amazing tool for sure!!!
Only dime could play it like dime
Hey brother, ola sent me here. He's right. This is a fantastic video. Thank you for the content. VERY helpful and informative. 🤘😆🤘
HEy Randy,
Welcome here my Friend! Thanks for the kind words! Happy to know if these lessons are informative and helpful in any ways!
Cheez
@@AttilaVorosOfficial thank you.
great>!!!
FUCKING AWESOME BRO
DONE DEAL
(Blazes through Dimebag's solo ...)
(Attila) "...Well ..."
(Me) ROTFL!
For the very last dive of the solo on the record he is grabbing that high note in conjunction with an open low string. Then he kranks that up two octaves and slow dives with the bar.
The last note of the main riff loop sounds off. Ola seems to get it right, even though they both end it on the 4th fret. It's kind of misterious. I got the same feeling from some live versions from Pantera. That last note some times sounded off, not like the recording, where it sounds perfectly blended.
No body ever gets the whammy pedal to sound how dimes did! I’ve always played this wrong too thanks heaps for this! Your vids rule..
Thanks Sheldon! Means a lot to know that You find these vids helpful!
We also don't have: "Grady" to do the: "harmonics" on spots either!!
Killer lesson!!!
BTW: Where did you get the tshirt? Love it!
THank You for both! The shirt was made when I released my solo album Strength Of Will 'Blink of an Existence' check that one out if You will ;)
@@AttilaVorosOfficial I definitely will.
Can I have a tshirt in size M? 😀
Is it possible?
Thank you!
what's effect you use, when do a solo? delay + some reverb?
If you don't have a whammy, you can sort of get away with playing a pinch harmonic on the fifth fret of the G string. If you get the harmonic right it will sound similar, but not identical which is understandable.
hmmm maybe suicide note part 2 can be a good thing to try eheee ;)
Yepyep, most definitely I'll probably do that sooner than later ;)
is the back of that guitar mahogany or that purple/blue?
Mahogany ;)
Could you do avoid the light next?
Already did a lesson to the solo
Lesson part:

Demonstration Part:
@
I believe he bends that octave a little bit as well
can you do a rythem lesson on slaughtered
Would the whammy DT sound any different that's all I have
Been using the DT for the past 2 years, and NO, it's pretty much the same ;)
💪🙏🇺🇸
i know you put on the description the tuning is 440 hz e or d, you mean standard tuning or drop d?
It is 44O standard D! in this video
@@AttilaVorosOfficial is it the same as drop d? i had never heard hertz on tunings ever before, haha
@@Kyush4 So herz refers to the actual pitch which You tune an 'A' to. All the other strings are tuned relative to each other.
If You lover the Hz on the tuner it means all strings get lower pitch-wise.
On the other hand drop tuning usually means that the low E string is dropped 1 whole note lower.
Hope it makes sense.
@@AttilaVorosOfficial gotcha! thanks! damn, ive been playing for 10 years and didnt now about that lol
That “power” chord like you said isn’t a power chord there’s no fifth. It’s the root third and octave. So I call it a barred octave or something like that. 😂 In G# and the whammy is A# making it a second of the G# which I think the song would be considered in they key D# major making the intro a fifth. I think… it sounds like it ends on a slide from F# to the first fret D# as it sounds like it’s tuned in D. My apologies as this has a lot of distortion and muffled but to make it clear on where you need to play. Keys are key.
I remember seeing them live 7 times and he was always running around and nowhere near a pedal on the whammy so like the Scott ian zakk wylde video someone side stage was playing the whammy pedal. Cool stuff.
What pitch and pitch frequency is used in this song?
it's tuned to 425 Standard D, and the whammy is set for a 2 octane up shift.
what is the tone of this song?
It's all in the socks! lol
So true!! ;)
@@AttilaVorosOfficialSubscribed!
Damn, I cant figure out that slide up and release whammy, you do it at the same time (slide ends at the same time when pedal is up?)
Not 100% sure which part You mean, but if You give me a time code, I can check and see if I can help You my Friend ;)
Attila Voros 3:57-4:02
@@paskujin OK, so while I'm sliding down on the neck I also go to down position (going back to the original note from 2 oct up) with the whammy just a hair behind the slide. Hope it clears it up for You! ;)
@@AttilaVorosOfficial well its more clear to me. Now its just practice, but I know the basics. Thanks Man!
@@paskujin Cool, enjoy the ride my Friend!
what about a lesson on psycho holiday
There will definitely be one ;)
@@AttilaVorosOfficial i’ve tried learning it by ear but i cant do it
@@joejoethegreat3278 I will do it sometimes in the future and will do my best ;)
I don’t have a whammy pedal and my guitar is in drop C. What am I doing here
I’ve just finished watching the video and realised it is possible 😂
Muting.whammy and a Black Sabbath riff
Who signed your guitar?
Thaat looks like Phil's Signature.
What Tuning? Whole step down?
Yep, but it's 425hZ D not 440...
@@AttilaVorosOfficial appreciate it.. just got my whammy so ill be trying it
What tuning is this in?
Here's a video with all PanterA tunings from CFH to RTS albums (song by song list in the description) : ua-cam.com/video/-HQ3jYbvtKk/v-deo.html
I feel like you rushed the whammy just a little bit. Just my opinion. It just the feel of the whammy is just hanging back loosely.
My feelings aside I know how it feels trying to record something on camera for a video. It’s hard and takes many different shoots just to get something useable sometimes. Good job though on the video and thanks for sharing! I learned alot from it!
Ola englund has the most accurate dimebag riffs and tones
Wah pedállal probáltam, de nem adta a várt hangzást... 😭
Igen azzal nem lesz olyan:)
tune down half a step
Done: ua-cam.com/video/_Mxd1FSUZes/v-deo.html
your socks were cute
Happy socks 4pres!
Dimebag played it WITHOUT the whammy pedal. you can see it in multiple live videos.
Yep, that's when Grady, His guitar tech stepped in and did it for Him.
@@AttilaVorosOfficial is there a video?
I really excited
As good as this guy plays it, he's like anyone else I have seen try to play like Dime, it's like they are always 10% away from, nailing that groove down in the verse....great job tho not hating.
You can play like him but you can never play like him. RİP Dime
Nope. Merci version is correct.
PanterA should hire you instead of Zakk bro... I am just being honest here.
