Have you ever heard of wearing a cooling neckband? Will you be making these for yourself or as gifts?

Yes! I’ve seen them at REI a long time ago but they will wait too expensive so I love this idea!

Thank you for this excellent show-and-tell tutorial with good pacing and elocution. You helped me make two of these in a flag motif to first wear as an election poll worker this week. My sister’s quilt group has made these and one of their members is assigned the task of soaking them overnight for each day of their retreats. Thanks SEW much.

I am going to experiment with bringing a thermos full of cold water from fridge, while I'm out playing golf I'm going to refresh the band in the thermos to get them cold again. love this idea.

i've made a couple of these before. once you get them wet don't squeeze the extra water out just put them in a zip lock bag and put them in your fridge. that way they are extra cool for in the summer or when you get a headache. Just don't stick them in the freeze, lol also you can make them longer if yu need to. my husband has a thick neck so i needed a longer "scarf". i just left my opening longer and made 4 equal sections instead of 3.. i also used sew on snaps, he wasn't to thrilled about the whole tying thing. he thought it was to girly looking. smh

What a clever idea! I did not know that the beads could be purchased. Any injury or inflammation uses cooling for pain and swelling needs this. A wider wrap could be for wrist, ankle, knee, or even headache!

@@NotchesSewing I have to tell you how much I love this neckband! I'm amazed at how long it lasts. It's been around 18 hours since I soaked it in water and it's still cold! Wow!
