    Good morning, the tool T10524 in my case and I imagine that in your case the tool T10303, is it really necessary for the installation of the clutch discs? I don't understand what the tool in question is worth.

    • @Mikefngarage
      @Mikefngarage  2 роки тому +1

      sort of it keeps the clutches from falling down when your doing the measurement. You could make something out of wood. if you wanted to. if the clutches become misalligned your measurement will be off and the snap ring wont go on.

    Not sure if you can answer this, just replaced the dsg fluid on mine, but need to get the clutch pack changed now. Will a oil top up be necessary with the new pack installed or should it not be necessary?

      No you should not lose any dsg fluid when you do this but never a bad idea to check with the bottom 14 mm hex just make sure to keep the 8mm hex straw in the trans

      shimming must be done. THe computer will not recognize the values unless they are in tolerance.. There are a few videos on this stuff. some guys use the flat shims too go get a better tolerance. Use the formula in this video and you should be good. I did it 2 times too. so dont feel bad.

      I gruess it depends on how you drive it. My 2006 has 250k miles. never had clutches done. My 2009 started having issues at 250. If your always creeping foreword it causes wear on the clutches too. When I am stopped I hold my foot firmly on the brake pedal and dont creep. your right Miami area has the worst traffic I have even been in. I always use the surpass express lanes when I am there.

    All the measuring and finial snap ring selection results in 0.15mm (0.006") clutch drum end play, easily accomplished with a feeler gauge between the selectable snap ring and drum. Confirm it by measuring the original clutch end play, it will be between 0.10 (0.004") and 0.15mm (0.006").

      @@catalinnicolae4443 I think he meant to say 240km which is 150k miles for us in America. Which on average is what these clutch packs seem to last. I service these cars for a living, and rarely see them exceed 150k without symptoms. 130-150 seems to be the "uhh ohh spot".
